What makes the Supernatural fandom different than other fandoms? What’s behind the SPNFamily’s generous and enthusiastic support of charitable causes? What will happen to the SPNFamily now that Supernatural is over? These are a few of the questions tackled by a panel of Supernatural fans who double as science fiction/fantasy authors, editors and university lecturers! Share on…
Today was opening day for the Salute to Supernatural Convention in Vancouver and there were actually five Winchester Family Business staff members in the audience! We all had a pretty remarkable time, and kudos to Creation Entertainment for actually coming up with a full and entertaining slate for a Friday. Panel guests were Rob Benedict,…
Sunday, J2 Day! Well, it was a bit more than that. There was an awesome panel involving a King and Queen of Hell, J2 on the stage twice messing with things like a new Twitter account for Jensen and a well placed fan at the back of the stage that provided loads of entertainment. We…
After having to settle for a poster from the vendor’s room at last year’s Van Con, I decided to take matters into my own hands. The poster itself was cool, don’t get me wrong—but it just didn’t seem to represent me as a fan. I wanted something a bit more significant. And so, if I…
The question “How many of you are at your first con” is regularly asked by much of the cast. Sometimes many hands shoot up—but at others not many. The question then becomes—largely unspoken—why do you keep going to these Supernatural conventions? Once you’ve gotten your autographs and photo ops and seen the panels, why do…
(Photo courtesy of BMI) On Thursday evening, a panel took place at Comic-Con during other high profile ones called “The Character of Music.” The idea of the panel was to have one composer for a TV show or movie and one of the producers there with him to talk about the impact of the score…
Thanks Alice! I have day one and day two posted now.
Great report Tigershire, to think you thought it would be nothing but a mumble…nary a mumble or drooly bit in sight. Sounds like a great first day, lots of fun and I’m glad there’s a new Q&A format…I only ever catch glimpses here and there on the web or via reports but the incessant inanity of some of the questions never ceases to amaze. Good for someone to take a stand on that. I also think it’s fair there’s no recording, I mean, it’s great to view some of the vids but truth is people pay a lot of money to go and then some of us get to watch stuff free…’tis fair.
I’ll be looking forward to your next series of posts.
Thanks for doing this.
Thanks Elle2. I credit my ability to recall and transcribe with the fact that I seemed to have gotten my head around the whole event and my nerves went away. I still wasn’t brave enough to say, get up to the mike to ask a question, but meeting them all no longer held any fear or nerves. It was AWESOME and enabled me to recall events enough to recount them.
Day 2 is up and I’m hoping to do Day 3 tonight but it’s late and I have a bit of paperwork to do. So could be there….but definitely tomorrow for sure.
Okey dokey – I think I have finished. I completed Day 3 – Part 2 at 2 am and posted it.
Folks are more than welcome to leave comments on my blog as well, or ask me questions and I will compile them into a post to answer them.
But really, I’m just please folks want to read what I have to say and I want to say another HUGE Thank You to Alice for posting my link here, I have gotten a ton of traffic to my site because of it.
Thank you so much Tigershire. Loved reading your experiences at the con.
Love the boys and all the wonderful characters on the show. It must be a happy workplace on the Supernatural set. They’re all so cool!
