I’ve Got A Bad Feeling About This – Let’s Discuss What’s Going to Happen in the Mid-Season Finale

If you’re spoiler free and haven’t watched the promo for the mid-season finale you may want to back quietly away now….
I’ve Got A Bad Feeling About This – Let’s Discuss What’s Going to Happen in the Mid-Season Finale
So let’s put our money where our mouths are!
How well have we read the clues? How well do we know our show? How much is this going to hurt?
Lay your theories out here! You can talk about the coming episode or boldly go beyond to where you think the fallout will land.
Is Zeke good or bad?
Is Zeke actually healing Sam?
Does Zeke have ulterior motives? If so…what’s he up to? Anything to do with Metatron?
Why is Cass being tortured (again)?
What’s going on with the angel war?
Is Sam going to find out the truth?
What will the outcom to all this be for Dean?
What the hell does Zeke do in the bunker during the promo! (Eeeep!)
Will someone die?
WHAT THE HELL DOES “I did what I had to” mean?
WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING AT?!
Here’s the PROMO if you need a refresh.
The one thing we all know for certain is that we’ll probably need a big group hug!
So go forth and let it all out….
Let’s Discuss What’s Going to Happen in the Mid-Season Finale!
Man I am right there with you Amy. I’ve been having bad vibes with Zeke for a week or so now and the promo just reinforced that for me. I’m thinking that Kevin translated enough of the tablet that will reveal something Zeke did not want Kevin telling the Winchesters about so Zeke pulled the plug on Kevin. 😥 I hope I am so way off base here because I’m not ready to let Kevin go. 😥 I don’t know what else would put Dean in a very dark place than to have Sam/Zeke kill or hurt Kevin after he just admitted he was like family. 😥 The bunker is supposed to be safe so is it really now? I still think he is working with Metatron, especially after seeing that promo pic with Metatron talking to Sam/Zeke? No 🙂 today in this write up. I’m just plain down scared for everyone. I feel this is one ep that is going to have my heart in my stomach by the end. Can we say group hug at this time?

Yep very very nervous. Until the promo I was on the fence about Ezekiel. Now I think he has his own agenda and it will not be in Sam’s best interest. I now think Dean has been manipulated from the word go. Dean’s willingness to do anything, go to any lengths, to save Sam has always been his weak spot and many beings out there are aware of that. Maybe Zeke is trying to take heaven back or is in league with Metatron. Something not good, and Sam may be being used to accomplish his endgame.
Sam appears to be weakening now whereas before he was feeling great. His body and mind are being adversely affected now. I think Dean has always regretted how this transpired but saving Sam was the bottom line. He had that, but it appears Sam is not healed and walking around with Zeke at the wheel.
I have a bad feeling about poor Kevin. 🙁 I hope I am wrong about that. Something hurty.
Oh, this is going to be bad!! I can’t watch. I can’t NOT watch. Poor Sam. Poor Dean. Gah!

I’ve had a bad feeling about Zeke ever since I noticed Sam seemed to be getting more and more tired instead of better, which was several episodes ago, so I don’t think the angel is really healing him, but healing himself instead, which answers the question is Zeke good or bad. I’m leaning on the side of he’s rotten! I so hope I’m wrong.
I can’t even entertain the thought of something happening to Kevin. I mean no! Just no! Please no!
I think we could all be shattered into little bits. I’m not ready. I’m also not coherent.

I’m much more interested in the angel war why Cas is covered in blood in that first scene and where he got that suit. My questions involve Bartholomew and Ive heard some really good theories around Bartholomew and Zeke. And I’m much more interested in this new angel runored to appear named Malachi. Id like to know why Metatron is back on earth and what hes up to.
I refuse to speculate any more about Zeke as there’s no worthwhile info to be had and I’m pretty sure that whatever that story its not anything like we think having heard the rumors of Deans reaction to finding out Zeke ‘s agenda.

If Zeke’s bad ten his probably working for Lucifer. But what worried me was the last episode where that crazy monster or what ever said that Sam’s liver was barerly functional. That he shouldn’t be alive. Well. Zeke’s been in sam for 8 episodes now. Something must be up

I haven’t trusted Zeke in ages. He can bring back the dead, but not heal Sam?! No. That totally does not make sense. Then we hear that Sam is still completely messed up inside, which tells me Zeke has just been using him as a car; he hasn’t been doing the promised ‘tune up.’ Also, why is he so terrified of being discovered by the other angels; so much so that he has been ‘hiding,’ even from Cas (remember Cas said he was a “good soldier”). It didn’t sound as if Cas and Zeke were on the outs, so why is Zeke afraid of Cas discovering he’s inside Sam? I wouldn’t be surprised if Zeke teams up with Metatron, betrays Cas to be captured (and tortured), and possibly either destroys the angel tablet or tries to kill Kevin (that scene in the bunker). I have a feeling the episode is going to end with Dean being forced to suffer the consequences of his recent lies (about Zeke) and his decision to trick Sam into accepting Zeke. Dean is going to have some bad days ahead. Overall, this whole scenario still smacks to me of “The End,” in a distorted version. Sam possessed by a fallen angel (in this case Ezekiel), a war involving angels is starting on earth (this time among fallen angels), and we have Abaddon in the new role of ‘Lucifer’ leading the demonic army.

I still think Zeke is a good guy, not because Cas called him a good soldier but because of the way Cas smiled remembering him. Particularly after being tricked by Metatron, I don’t think Cas would have remembered Zeke so fondly unless he was truly one of the good guys.
I’m not saying Zeke won’t continue doing things that make us question his motivations. I would worry more about him if they didn’t make us wonder- too good to be true.

I’m afraid.
My theories have as much to do with Jensen’s recent convention appearances as the previews. He’s said a couple times now that Dean is in a really dark place, or that he’s filmed some of the most emotional scenes he’s ever had to do, and he found himself taking it home with him. And they are filming a couple episodes beyond the midseason finale at this point, so I’m guessing the cliffhanger isn’t going to be resolved in the Midseason premier.
After AHBL? Swan Song? This must be REALLY bad. I heard it was part of why Jensen asked for the meeting with the writers, but that’s 2nd hand, so I’m not stating as fact. Either way, it all adds up to Dean being off the rails in a train wreck way.
Jared, who said close to the same thing when he was filming the trials, has said nothing. Leading me to believe Sam isn’t going through something dark YET. And he said we’ll see a lot more of Zach. Makes me think Sam is MIA and Zeke is in charge.
So, that being part of the basis for my theory, along with the previews, here goes.
I think Zeke is going to either completely take over Sam for a while, or disappear with him. From the previews, he’s either already working with Metatron or is going to be. (I’m hoping in the end he’s trying to undo what Metatron did, and intends to give Sam back, but Winchester Luck odds are against it)
The only thing I can think of that would put Dean in such a dark place would be losing Sam to being a vessel permanently- especially since he’s the one that tricked Sam into agreeing. Being stuck as a vessel doing God knows what would be fate worse than death to Sam, and Dean knows it.
I hope Zeke doesn’t hurt Kevin, but that would add to Dean’s mental state.
Cas? Cas is going to suffer. Now, last season he already felt like he needed to pay penance, and that was before he helped Metatron kick the angels out of heaven. So he’ll probably take it as he deserves it. (Kind of like S5 Sam all over again, but I digress)
Just my thoughts on what’s going to happen Tues night.
Hi Mary9930- We only know that the angel (?) who came to Dean SAID he was Ezekiel. Dean asked Cas about it over the phone. Cas was quickly rushed out of the bunker at ‘Ezekiel’s’ urging before Cas was aware of Sam’s possession. He might be Ezekiel but it hasn’t been confirmed by Cas, That all seemed very suspicious to me at the time. He might not be evil but his agenda might not have anything to do with healing Sam either. We shall see soon I guess. 🙂

I think Zeke’s one of the good angels. But, then again, Castiel is/was a good angel (is he still considered an angel, just graceless?) and look at the damage he did – angelic civil war, turning himself in to a new “God” and smiting all of Rafael’s followers, making a deal with Crowley, letting the Leviathans out of Purgatory with the end result Dean going to Purgatory for a year, breaking the hell wall in Sam’s head, etc. Not picking on Castiel; just pointing out that his intentions were usually good but look at the body count and the consequences of his actions. Zeke might be well intentioned but that really doesn’t count for a lot when it comes to angels.
IMO Zeke will be a major player in the upcoming angel wars and effort to get the angels back in to heaven. Just wondering, with the angels cast out of heaven, what happens if Kevin translates the angel tablet and figures out how to close up heaven forever; will that strand the angels on earth forever, or kill those not in heaven when the doors are shut? Naomi and Crowley wanted to get their hands on the angel tablet for different reasons last year. Maybe Zeke, working with Metatron, wants to get his hands on the tablet, too, and ends up hurting/killing Kevin in the process? That would suck – Kevin has grown on me over the past season or so. Maybe Zeke completely takes over Sam for a period of time. Sam appears to be getting weaker/run down – I think Zeke is tapping in to his soul to heal himself, maybe to the point of Sam not being strong enough to eject him?.
Dean is already feeling guilty about stopping Sam from closing the gates of hell, and really has no one to talk to/turn to about the Sam/Zeke situation. Maybe Dean has to work with Crowley to get Sam back? Zeke is going to do something that will make Dean question whether it was worth saving Sam.

We don’t even know if Zeke is the one inside Sam at all. The angel who came to Dean said he was Zeke, and Cas vouched for an angel he knows as Zeke, but how can we be sure that they are one in the same? I am beginning to wonder if it’s not Zeke at all inside Sam, but Malachai? Just a thought, and I’m probably wrong! 😆

I think that up until now Zeke has been on the up-and-up. Because as someone asked on one of the threads today if Zeke was just out for himself why not go straight for Dean as a vessel? All he had to say was “allow me to use you and I can heal your brother, this vessel (the original TP one)is too badly damaged”. Once he had taken over Dean it wouldn’t have mattered if he was lying or telling the truth because Sam was never his priority, he had a new vessel and Sam could die or not.
Logically the only reason he would go for Sam and stick with him is because he WAS actually dying and because the only way to stop that WAS to get inside him to do the cure. The reason it is taking so long is because Sam is injured in a way no human ever previously has been and Zeke has to keep rescuing Dean’s lemming friends and relations. Must be a little exasperating from Zeke’s point of view.
If all that is the case then since Zeke is probably aware that Dean doesn’t want to be a vessel he probably won’t make that his request when he comes looking for payment. Though J2 did comment at a con that the brothers (and they gave a shout out to the writers on that too) tend to say ‘let’s worry about that later’ *sigh*
I think that until now Zeke has been exactly what he appears to be. The change is to do with Metatron (since we know he meets him) maybe Metatron knew where he was all along or maybe he finds out by accident. Metatron knows whether or not the spell can be reversed (in any story I ever came across no spell is absolute and binding, there is always an out) or maybe he has just discovered that something he thought was destroyed is actually hidden in the bunker. Somehow Metatron talks Zeke into helping him. Since Zeke and Metatron meet away fromDean it is possible that this is the point where Sam finds himself somewhere he doesn’t expect to be and finally becomes certain there is something wrong.
So what could happen?
1) Kevin does something and Zeke kills him. Could be he translates the tablet – though why that would suddenly make it urgent to kill him I don’t really know. If Zeke doesn’t want the tablet translated then he had plenty of opportunities to stop Kevin or steal the tablet. Maybe this is Metatron’s influence?
2) Kevin accidentally finds out about Zeke and has to be prevented from telling Sam. Though that doesn’t make much sense either. I wonder is there some sort of switch that means if Sam finds out Zeke can’t erase his memory of that? Of course he knew what was happening at the moment he was taken over so ….
Honestly the main reason for it being Kevin is because Kevin’s death would actually be directly placed at Dean’s feet, no doubt about it – Dean would never forgive himself for it. It would also be the catalyst to make sure Sam finds out, Sam ejects Zeke and is now deathly ill again, he is also devastated because of Dean lying and the fact that it was his body used to kill Kevin. It certainly fits with all the things that have been said at cons about Dean’s mindset over the next few episodes (and does anyone else think that Jared looks thin and Jensen looks spaced on the Burcon videos? They need to stop with all this method stuff!! ) .
3) Maybe they get the supernatural event world-map table to work – you know I am not sure what happened in Slumber Party over that? Did it start working? Of so it must have not shown Zeke so maybe this isn’t a likely scenario. But maybe it wasn’t working and suddenly starts, shows Zeke and Zeke destroys it so that Sam can’t find out about him. This is a problem because they need it to find Cas (surrounded by angels) who is being tortured. Hence Dean’s panicked cry! This isn’t that likely I don’t think…
4) The last thing I can think of is that Sam somehow finds out about Zeke at a vital moment – maybe Dean thinks he is talking to Zeke and he is actually talking to Sam – my THAT would be a freaky scene – Dean with his back to Zeke, Zeke’s eyes flash blue and Sam hears Dean say something that sounds just awful out of context (though anything Dean says to Zeke that Sam hears would sound awful IN context to Sam too). Sam has a major row with Dean, is angry (or devastated), goes to leave, Zeke takes over and the thing he ‘had to do’ becomes preventing Sam from ejecting him by taking over fully and trapping Sam in his own body … That would account for Dean’s cry too!

However for that last one I think that if it is only between Sam, Dean and Zeke then once Sam is rescued from Zeke, however that happens then Dean would recover pretty quick – after all he did what he did with the best intentions and he knows (though he might be blocking it) how much it is going to hurt Sam and must be somewhat ready for the fallout no matter how bad it got. Honestly I am interested to know WHAT the writers could possibly get Sam to say that would knock Dean back? They have both already said just about everything. So maybe like a few people have commented he might expect, if not exactly the ‘thanks’ that they mention (honestly!), that eventually Sam will come around and be forgiving no matter how angry he is short term. And I think Sam would too.
But apparently something has to happen to put Dean into a ‘dark place’ for several episodes. I really, really hope that it isn’t because Zeke vanishes with Sam and we don’t see him for several episodes because that would truly suck (and not in an entertaining, nail-chewing, excitable way either – it would just suck – because we know that we would never find out what happened in the missing time) leaving us again shut out of Sam’s life to focus on Dean’s. I want to see this whole thing from both points of view! I don’t mind if Zeke does do that and spends a couple of episodes trying to get through to Sam what he wants him for while Dean does a frantic search for him (though it is not my favorite version of the potential story), it would freak Dean out, and do all the things that the show has promised / threatened us with but we need to see what is going on with both brothers!
This is all guesswork from a 20 second clip 🙂 Maybe putting too much thought into all this … especially since the longer clip will probably be released any minute now and contradict all of it

Here are some things I noticed –
Cas in the phone booth is already bloody and missing his tie and he is very grim; in the bar when he is with the boys he is not and he is smiling- so torture scene happened after the bar, but before the phone call? where are the cuts on his face – healed by an angel? he’s been freed to get the message about the angel war out to the Winchesters and Zeke?
the bar table scene with Zeke and Dean is after the scene of drinking with Cas – notice the third bottle on the table and Zeke’s beer is half empty – drunk by Sam earlier but Zeke looks grim and Dean is upset
So, the scene with Metatron and Zeke – before the scene at the bar and Zeke is gathering info and warning Dean? or after the drink with Cas after Cas has been grabbed up and Metatron is warning Zeke about consequences of not working with him/choosing sides on the angel war/etc.
the ominous line that not everyone will survive ends on Kevin’s face and obviously Sam, Dean and Cas survive – Cas in not in the bunker with them or why would he be calling them from a phone booth after being tortured?
So, yes, it looks bad for Kevin, but I think Zeke is doing what he thinks he needs to to keep Sam and Dean safe…
My most troubling thought – that they will end with the Zeke and Dean scene and not show us what Zeke did. And we’ll have to wait and wait and wait…Ugh!

Another thing – when Dean is on the phone (with Cas?) he is in the same clothes as him running in and being stopped by Zeke which are different from the clothes in the beginning when Sam, Dean and Kevin are researching on the laptop and translating the tablet.
Do the tablets link the Prophet to Metatron in such a way that Kevin could be corrupted? He is having a lot of trouble translating it. Did Metraton hide something in the tablet to keep Kevin loyal or any prophet loyal to God/Heaven?
Just a thought.

#14 – I never even thought of your “your most troubling
thought” Booklady, but it’s definitely become one of mine now! I wouldn’t like to think about that one for weeks. Ugh, is right

I’ll admit, the promo makes it look bad for Kevin and I am worried that he won’t make it past mid-season. But it does occur to me that killing Kevin really won’t do much good other than delay things for a bit. As soon as Kevin dies another prophet will come ‘on-line’ and will be drawn to the tablet as Kevin was. If there is something on that table that Zeke or Metatron does not want known, killing Kevin won’t accomplish much. So, I think something else will happen, like maybe Zeke will destroy the tablet… perhaps on Metatron’s orders and instructions and then take off with Sam so that Dean can’t retaliate.

And we haven’t had a sneak peak for this episode yet either have we?

Nope.
I hope you’re right about Kevin. I was thinking the same thing that they’ll end up bringing another profit ‘online’, unless the angels kill them all. Maybe they show Kevin just to show us that he’ll be involved somehow. That dark place we keep hearing about could be Kevin dying and/or Sam getting taken.
Just the anticipation is killing me.

I really hope Zeke doesn’t kill Kevin. One, because I like Kevin and hope he sticks around. The main reason is because I really don’t want Sam to have to deal with the idea that his body was used to kill Kevin. It was bad enough when Meg killed Steve Waddell and when Lucifer killed those people from his past. Kevin is a current friend. I can see Sam eventually forgiving Dean for tricking him into saying yes to Zeke. I can see Sam eventually coming to terms with how Dean lied to him. It would be incredibly hard for Sam to forgive Dean for allowing Sam to be possessed by an angel who murdered a friend. I’m sure Sam will get over it, but he doesn’t deserve the guilt and pain that would cause. I’m hoping Kevin realized Sam was possessed and Zeke just knocked him out to prevent him from telling Sam, or something like that.

OH my god!! That would really suck. being killed by someone you beleive is a friend….just as much as Sam being trapped in his body and having to watvch kevin be killed.
My one hope for this episode is Sam gets to have some proactivity. I’m really hoping he is more then a peice of rope in which Dean and Zeke play tug of war over.
