The WFB Supernatural Season 8 Awards – Fans’ Choice
All of you “Supernatural” fans nominated, then voted, and now we are proud to announce the results of our Winchester Family Business “Supernatural” Season Eight Awards! (The WFBSSEAs?) Below are the results from the sixteen categories put up for voting.
Winner (by a landslide)
“Sacrifice”
Runner-up
This category wasn’t even close. “Sacrifice,” the season closer written by showrunner Jeremy Carver, ran away with the award. “The Great Escapist,” which has turned out to be Ben Edlund’s final episode for “Supernatural,” didn’t even get half the votes of the winner, however it owned second place by a good margin. The real battle didn’t happen until third place, where “Pac-Man Fever” barely squeaked by “Goodbye Stranger.” “Everybody Hates Hitler” and “Trial and Error” rounded out the voting.
It should be noted that the top three were all among the last four episodes of the season. Talk about saving all the best for last.
Worst “Supernatural” Season 8 Episode
Winner (Another landslide)
Runner-up
“Freaks and Geeks”
Considering many think that “Man’s Best Friend With Benefits” was one of the worst episodes ever in the history of “Supernatural,” it’s not surprising it topped our Worst Episode list. Writers Eugenie Ross Leming and Brad Buckner actually had two episodes on this list, but “Heartache” in it’s badness just couldn’t top a story about a black woman familiar wearing a dog collar and sleeping with her witch master in both dog and human form. Makes you kind of cringe just reading that brief excerpt, huh?
“Freaks and Geeks,” episode 18 of the season written by Adam Glass, got almost half the votes as the winner. Glass also had two episodes on this list, but “Southern Comfort” emerged from the voting unscathed. “Bitten” was the only other episode that was in the running, but it only managed to finish a distant third.
Funniest “Supernatural” Season 8 Scene
Winner
Sam’s fever induced antics (“Farty Donkey” story, Dr. Scowly Scowl) – “The Great Escapist”
Runner-up
Dean’s Braveheart speech and the final charge freeze frame – “LARP and The Real Girl”
A very close third
The voting on this surprised me. It ran close for a while, but at the end the delirious Sam Winchester won out by a healthy margin. It remained close for the rest of the vote, and Dean’s iconic blond wig and inspired re-enactment of “Braveheart,” with a hold for a stray frisbee in between, managed to take second. Sick Sam humor was enough to secure third place as well, which is probably why they don’t have nice things. The only other option in the running was Castiel shopping in the grocery store in “Clip Show.” It seems a stressed out angel unable to secure pie for his friend is funny!
Managed at least one vote. Dean’s guilt over leaving Castiel in Purgatory, even though he didn’t.
Oh, that was me! And I proudly stand by my single vote!
Oh man, even today……
You go, girl!
I voted for “Pac-Man Fever” as an episode and as scenes several times, including the “Tearjerker” award. Idk, I guess that episode touched me. Still, I think I voted for Benny over Charlie for best Guest Character. It’s fun and intriguing seeing the results of the polls!
you are right,:))))
