Memorable Moments: Supernatural 12.02 “Mamma Mia”

Welcome back to the “Memorable Moments” series! For episode 12.02 “Mamma Mia”, I once again put together a list of what I felt were the best and most memorable moments from this episode. Best Sam Moment

Sam bringing Mary some tea and John’s journal and finally having a moment with his mother.

Mary: Dean says you got out of hunting.

Sam: Yeah.

Mary: And yet here you are.

Sam: Well this is my family. My family hunts, you know, that’s what we do. Mom? For me just um having your here fills in the biggest blank.

 

Best Dean Moment

Dean’s conversation with Mary in the car. Dean explaining how Dad had changed after her death and how Sam went to Stanford for a bit.

Dean: I can’t believe you talked me into this.

Mary: I’m your mother. You have to do what I say.

Mary: Sam had a chance to get out and he came back?

Dean: When dad disappeared, Sam and I looked around and something became very clear. The only thing we had in the world, the only thing besides this car, was each other.

 

Best Bad Ass Moment

Dean knocking out Toni to stop the spell she held on Mary, then freeing Sam. ‘Turns out this ape did read a book or two’ 

 

Best Castiel Moment

Castiel informing Dean that he thinks he found where Sam is being kept.

Cas: No it’s powerfully warded.

Dean: Powerfully warded? Ok, see buddy, that was your headline right there.

Cas: Are we still talking about the same thing?  

 

Funniest Moment

Cas asking Dean….’You brought your Mother?’ 

 

Best Crowley and Rowena Moment

Their conversation in the stairwell.

Rowena: You’re like a boil that keeps coming back, no matter how many times I have it lanced.

Crowley: Just a stab, you probably don’t want me to reveal that his ‘snookums’ is over 300 years old and a witch. 

 

Best Lucifer Moment

Regaining his power over Rowena’s spell and frightening away Crowley, leaving Rowena to his mercy. 

 

Creepiest Moment

Vince looking up from washing his face to seeing it covered in blood. 

 

Most Surprising Moment

Rowena ditching the long gowns and wearing PANTS.  

Saddest Moment

Mary being afraid to face Sam as…’I started all this’ 

 

Best Fight Scene

Mary charging in and fighting Toni. ‘Get away from my boys!’

 

Best ‘Awwwww’ Moment

Sammy getting a long overdue hug from his Mum. 

 

Best Disguise

Crowley dressed as a waiter. 

 

Worst “What the…?” Moment

Sam sleeping with Toni??? 

 

Best CGI/VFX scene

Lucifer’s face eaten away by the acid. 

 

Most Miraculous Moment

Going from deep cuts, bruises, split lips to…..

The long view after Lucifer sends Vince’s drummer/friend through the door and down the hallway.

The soft light showing the hotel room with the window view of London’s Bridge.

“Lost Angel” by Heart… leads in with Sam and Mary’s hug, to Dean on the kitchen floor looking at old photos while drinking beer, 

Then to Mary as she goes through John’s journal,

While Sam quietly contemplates on his bed staring at his ceiling fan. 

 

Most Yummy Moment

Dean wolfing down that delicious looking pie.
