What an episode! It spawned loads of meme’s, gifs, screenshots and most importantly to my articles, pretty awesome fan videos! It inspired me to make this article as soon as possible, not only for the episode but also for the Supernatural holidays connected with it. Yesterday, 1.23.2019, the world celebrated “National Pie Day” and today, 1.24.2019, is Dean Winchester’s birthday. How cool is that? His favorite food first and his special day next.

Happy birthday Dean Winchester! On this day, year of our Lord 2019, Dean is keeping Michael trapped in a cage inside his (Dean’s) mind. He has learned something pretty dire from Death that will solve the situation but Michael is not making it easy with all that yelling and hitting on the door. Our birthday boy is also having some post traumatic stress issues after Michael’s possession. So, is this a good day for Dean? In this episode, we find out that he thrives on trauma; it keeps him going.

But this should be a happy day so I want to write about the bar that Dean had in the episode. I really loved it and the fact Sam and Castiel were present and still hunting in this scenario. It is funny that when Gadreel possessed Sam he was also hunting a ghoul (a case involving strippers). I wonder if the hunt similarity is also an Easter egg? More on those later. Dean fit well behind a bar and he totally owned this life. That made me hope for a perfect birthday scenario someday….

Sam and Castiel had blindfolded Dean, and they were now guiding him forward. Sam had this surprise in mind for a long time and finally they did it. They guided Dean through the door and Sam snatched the cloth off Dean’s eyes. Dean focused on the bright light and then everyone that was dear to the boys yelled “Happy Birthday!” Mary, Jack and Bobby were there, among others. Sam put the deed to the bar in Dean’s hands then he and Castiel also said happy birthday.
Dean: What is this?
Sam: Something we all wanted to give you. It’s from the people here and people we once saved. I remembered how you enjoyed the bar in your dream. I know we are hunting but I think we can work it out that you work and own a bar – with some extra help and Jack.
Dean: You mean…
Sam: It is yours, Dean. Congratulations.

And they would work it out. Sometimes Dean would be their FBI, CIA guy from the bar and sometimes Jack and their hired old man bartender would take the lead. Sam would also do research in the bar so that he could also get out of the bunker. They also would meet some great new friends and hunters as the reputation of the bar grows.

Dean’s dream bar, “Rocky’s Bar” contains many Easter eggs.

The first Easter egg is that Pamela met Dean in heaven’s bar with Ash. I think that is the main reason she is also in this bar. Also, she always had some wise words and spunk. Dean felt at home at the Roadhouse. Jo was also a waiter in bars.

Other Easter Eggs include the name of the bar, the moose head hanging on the wall, the stuffed squirrel, the carving on the bar, the wooden monkey, the Impala tribute and many other things that are dear to Dean. Look for Nightsky’s Visual Review and Easter Egg Hunt, coming in a few days!
