Let’s Speculate: Supernatural 11.12 “Don’t You Forget About Me”
“Don’t You Forget About Me” is the second episode written by Nancy Won. The episode begins with a classic cold opening set in Sioux Fall, South Dakota. Two teenagers are drinking in a car and start to make out. Claire Novak comes out of the wood and grabs the boy from the truck. She holds a blade to his neck and demands to know what he is.
Jody and Dean talk in the kitchen about Alex and Claire. Alex has assimilated well while Claire is skipping her college classes and is alone most of the time. Dean sends Sam to talk to Claire. Sam advises her that hunting can be an escape from things. Claire tells Sam that she feels like she’s late to the Jody and Alex show and that she should perhaps head out on her own. Sam tells her that she won’t always have the chance at a family, school, etc.
The episode shifts to the murder of the school’s math teacher, who Alex and the rest of the school finds hanging dead from the school’s flagpole.
Jody tells Dean and Sam about the murder scene. Claire shows up and wants to start the hunt. Dean takes her aside and lectures her on showing respect to Jody. Alex and her boyfriend show up and Dean gives him the stink eye because he is skeptical that the two of them are just going to hang out. Dean and Sam investigate the school. Sam and Jody question the custodian and Dean meets up with Sam afterward.
We turn to Alex and her boyfriend in the woods. They are talking about the teacher’s death and Alex says there are awful things out there. She confesses that she hasn’t been like she is now and that’s she done bad things. We see a flashback to the ninth season’s Alex episode. Her boyfriend assures he doesn’t care what she’s done and they kiss.
Back at Jody’s house, Sam and Claire are at the dinner table when Dean and Jody come in. They discuss the case and Claire insists on going with Jody to investigate but Jody says no, they have an appointment with the registrar. Jody and Claire are ambushed getting in the car by a monster. Jody grabs her phone during the attack and calls Dean, who hears her being attacked on the other end.
Dean and Sam race back to Jody’s and find both Claire and Jody gone. The custodian vampire seems to be part of Alex’s old nest. Dean calls Alex and tells her to stay put. Her boyfriend attacks her and we see he is also a vampire. Sam goes back to the school and searches through the custodian’s stuff. Dean tries to call Alex but he gets no answer and finds her phone near a dumpster. He calls Sam and Sam tells Dean he found an old building he thinks that the custodian took the women to.
The custodian has Claire and Jody tied up and Jody realizes that Claire was right since the missing people she was searching for at the beginning of the episode are there, dead. The boyfriendpire hauls Alex in and the custodianpire tells her that this is her “whole life” with a menacing tone.
Custodianpire tells Alex that he saved her from an attacker a few years back. She had lured him to a vampire nest. He was turned and he killed his own family because of the bloodthirst. He has been on a revenge journey since then to get her but he turned her boyfriend and did it all to make her happy so he could totally destroy her. They grab Claire and the custodian is about to kill her. Alex promises to help them but Claire is bitten by the vamp. Sam interrupts and he and the boyfriend fight as Claire grabs a pipe and impales the custodian. Dean comes up and beheads him. Sam brings the boyfriend to Alex, who punches him and Claire beheads the boyfriend. The young women nod at each other.
In the final sequence, Alex and Claire are cooking for Jody. Alex apologizes for what the vamps did to them. Claire promises to be more respectful of Jody and Alex says that she may be moving on because she can’t be around the hunting life. The boys drive away and leave the three women standing in the driveway.
Questions, Specs, Feelings
Since it was a straight forward MOTW this week, not a lot of questions but…
1. What did you think about the episode?
2. Do you think other vamps will come for Alex?
3. What did you think about the two young women’s stories?
4. Poor Jody’s leg….poor leg.
5. Someone buy Dean a chicken and some potatoes so he can learn to use the bunker kitchen.
Leave your thoughts, feelings, other stuff below!
Claire was just an obnoxious, terrible character. He becoming a hunter is just so much, ugh. The episode would have worked a lot better had it just been about Alex and Jody. Basically, everything not involving Claire was good, anytime she opened her mouth I got annoyed.
1. What did you think about the episode? I – liked the episode. It wasn’t part of the mytharc, but I was emotionally engaged. I don’t dislike Claire, I really felt for Alex and I love Jody.
2. Do you think other vamps will come for Alex? – I don’t think so. I didn’t get the impression Alex’s “family” turned many people so I don’t think there are a lot of vamps out there who would seek revenge.
3. What did you think about the two young women’s stories? – They made sense to me. Alex just wants to put the horror behind her. Claire wants to fight the monsters. I understand both reactions.
4. Poor Jody’s leg….poor leg. -IKR?
1. I liked it. The story was interesting, and I liked seeing the dynamics between Jody & the girls. I also thought the pacing was good because the hour seemed to fly by! And the family dinner scene was excellent. I’m so happy we got to see that!
2. I think it is very possible that more vampires could come.
3. I really liked Alex. I think she has a lot to overcome, and I think that she hasn’t forgiven herself for some of the things she did in the past. And I liked that Dean called Claire out on her attitude. I think she is likable, but she needs to grow up a little. Hopefully this experience will let her do that. I would like to see more of Jody & the girls. They make a great team and there is a lot of room for compelling stories and character development. Bring on Wayward Daughters!
4. By this point, Jody probably needs surgery to fix it!
1. What did you think about the episode? I wanted to like it. I usually love character studies. But it was so slow. Plus it was so predictable. I know, it was a character study, but the paint by numbers MOTW just didn’t grab me. Maybe because I don’t like Vampire stories on SPN.
2. Do you think other vamps will come for Alex? No, although I wish Sam and Dean decided at the end to go clear out the new nest. They’re pretty good at hunting Vamps.
3. What did you think about the two young women’s stories? They were good and consistent with the characters. I just found Claire annoying again. There’s something about her character I just don’t relate to. I like that Sam and Dean at least tried to talk to her like an adult, which she is.
4. Poor Jody’s leg….poor leg. Yeah, that woman can take some knocks, can’t she? She’s tough as nails. Jody was the highlight of the episode for me.
5. Someone buy Dean a chicken and some potatoes so he can learn to use the bunker kitchen. Amen to that! Better yet, maybe one of them should have a steady girlfriend that cooks for them in the bunker. I know, it’s sacrilege, but wouldn’t it be kind of fun? Them rushing home after a hunt each day to get some sort of gourmet dish? Better yet, Jody should just visit more often.
I don’t think from a character standpoint the episode was poorly done. Nancy Won did her homework there. I just didn’t care for the MOTW aspects or the straight forward and very predictable investigation. It reminded me too much of the boring vamps in “Hibbing 911.” All in all, it was a better pilot than “Bloodlines” but still too weak for my tastes for a typical Supernatural episode.
After seeing all the excitement over the episode online tonight, I just might pass on the review this week. I don’t want to be the Debbie Downer.
This was almost as bad a BLOODLINES. :(:(:(:(:(:(
I love Jody & like the girls but hated this episode.
Too many of my other TV shows have been raising the bar recently. The return of The X-Files has been a HUGE love affair for me, but so has The 100 (a story that features every week really strong women). The Flash has been amazing this year too and me and the family LOVED watching Galavant over the last month. With that much good TV, it’s so hard to not want your show to do better. It feels like they’re stalling until the later part of the season when the mytharc takes off. Still, this was a good idea for a MOTW episode, but it fell short.
In all fairness, those are limited run events, 6-8 episodes. Much easier to keep the quality at that level over a short season as opposed to a 22/23 episode season. I do remember the last season or two of the X-Files and the quality was suffering a lot at that point, but have been pleasantly surprised by the new X-Files episodes.
What?! Are you crazy? This episode wasn’t even close to that terrible episode. Ugh just thinking about it… Must think happy thoughts 😮
Know what’s funny? Jody’s last three episodes have been vampire. They need to think of something new for her.
I think she’s a monster magnet.
Debbie Downer? Since when does that stop you from giving your honest review?
agreed… always enjoy Alice’s reviews, especially when she is unhappy about something that happened in the episode 🙂
honestly – I loved the episode. I loved how it dug into characters a lot. many people are complaining about Claire, but I understand it. shes trying to cope with losing her mother AND her father and hunting seems to be her escape. Anyway – I love the connections between all the characters in this episode, how Jody is trying her best to keep the girls in shape, how the two girls don’t hate each other after all, and how sam and dean really get their dad goin, making sure alex & Claire are doing the right thing. Sam and Dean eating a home cooked meal both made me laugh and broke my heart. and to do that simultaneously takes a lot of talent from the actors and the writers. I really appreciated this episode. Its nice to see the boys finally have a little bit of light and not always so much drama.
I enjoyed it much more than I expected to. I found Claire annoying as usual but I told someone if she has some character growth I would be ok with it. I was. It had humor. It had a somewhat predictable outcome but I still liked it. Not loved but liked a lot. Did you notice that Claire lost the awful makeup about the time she got less annoying? I always hated her makeup. Loved the awkward dinner scene. Liked the ending, not overly sentimental. The dynamic between Jody and her adopted family was nice I think. Not sure about a spinoff but I would be ok with more episodes occasionally.
I would be ok with more episodes occasionally.
Bite your tongue missy!:)
I liked this episode a lot. The dinner was hysterical. Maybe a little predictable but a good effort again by Nancy Won I thought. I wouldn’t mind seeing this trio again sometime.
I wouldn’t mind seeing this trio again sometime.
You bite your tongue too!:)
I didn’t absolutely hate this ep. Not a ringing endorsement, I know, but my bar was pretty low. Jodi was great. Alex was decent. And Claire did not cause me to up chuck my dinner, so that’s nice. I love that Sam and Dean are still embracing their newly formed bond and are still on speaking terms 12 eps into the season. I love the scene of Sam and Dean eating a home cooked meal, looking all awkard and lumberjack like.
What I didn’t like about this ep is that it’s all about Jodi and the girls, guest starring Sam and Dean. On the bright side, Jodi lived to see another day- so I’ll consider this one a win and move on to the Valentine Day’s ep next week.
1. What did you think about the episode?
It was a good episode and different. I truly like when it is MOTW it still acknowledges the over all arc and what is happening in the show aka Amara is mentioned and Cas. They have no leads so they head out. Nany Won can write characters and dialogue very well. Because of her writing I liked the episode more than I would have otherwise. I still adore Jody and Alex and in the end Claire also had a little turnabout. I do like that Alex and Claire are not the same. That they are two different people. Sam and Dean being dads and both helping the family was great. I actually yelled “RUN” when the family talk started on the dinner. Hell, I would run. Poor boys. It was the vampires again but I liked how it tied into Alex’s past. Can I also say that nowadays I cringe when people have accidents and their leg is hurt. I know the feeling and it is not fun. I have actually worse cyborg leg thing on my leg than Jody in this episode.
Also I do like the fact that the “hunting life” was not made to be easy in this episode. All three of the women were captured and they helped as Sam and Dean did win the fight for them. Claire was not an uber hunter and I am glad Jody helps her with it. That is a good way to help and control her bad habit. Forbidding something is not always the best way but teaching her the ropes might keep her alive and safe.
2. Do you think other vamps will come for Alex?
No, I think the old nest didn’t turn that much people to vampires. Bad publicity.
3. What did you think about the two young women’s stories?
They worked. Both are coping with different ways. And the result in the end was great.
4. Poor Jody’s leg….poor leg. I don’t want to talk about it. Ouch…
5. Someone buy Dean a chicken and some potatoes so he can learn to use the bunker kitchen. The scene at the table was hilarious and hey! Both of them can cook! But yeah, maybe not so big of a meal than Jody.
– Lilah
Totally agree, Lilah. It was a good episode. Claire is developing as a character, Alex is strong and resilient, and Sam got his own scene with Claire. He didn’t just hold the Tupperware, so good job. He did get hit with a small sledgehammer, then a wooden bat, right?? He seemed fine after that. Must have bones of steel.
For some reason I saw Jared as the Man of Steel in my eyes when I read what you wrote. But I agree. I did like that all the main characters had scenes with one another and it was weird but I totally saw Sam and Dean being little kids in that dinner table. It was sad but sweet. And Jody’s “Sit, STAY!” was so awesome. That was ad-libbed by Kim in that scene. 😉
– Lilah
Love the motherly tone Jodi takes with the boys. They need a mother badly, especially Sam.
He did get hit with a small sledgehammer, then a wooden bat, right?? He seemed fine after that. Must have bones of steel.
Well it makes sense. His skull is made of titanium apparently, otherwise he’s be drooling vegetable by now, so why not the rest of him?
I loved that Dean calmly cut the girls loose while casually glancing at Sam getting beat up. He knew Sam had that one.
I enjoyed the episode but not in this setting we have been moving along nicely with this seasons arch and then they plonked this epi in. If the idea is for a spin off, it could work ???? I didn’t feel Sam & Dean were as disconnected with the show as in bloodlines
I also wondered if they were trying to set Claire up as a Dean character – she wasn’t so bad in this episode, but I still can’t like her character they need to settle it down or maybe she is to in-experienced to play the character they are trying to introduce, I like Alex her character (maybe a Sam) was ok, she had alot more depth. And of course Jody she’s great Jody & the Boys carried the ep. it might have fallen flat otherwise. I loved seeing the Boys in a family situation and I thoroughly enjoyed the sex talk – the look on Sam & Deans faces, and Dean totally trying to ignore what was being said LOL
I loved it when Jody told them queit forcefully to sit down and poor Sam he looked so — “Yes Mum” It was a good light episode but I couldn’t help feeling cheated at having to wait another week for a progression in the story. It was good to see Jody & Alex maybe not Claire so much. OHHH I think Sam & Dean enjoyed their home cooked dinner sooooooo funnnnnny
And I am free to serve as a cook in the bunker I do prepare a lovely roast chicken & spuds & veges, I could throw in some cleaning and laundry duty Anything for my Boys :o:o:o:o:o:o
Definitely Claire=Dean and Alex=Sam vibes.
Also another revenge story to mirror Amara.
Felt like I watched a Supernatural/Blossom crossover.
But at least it was “a very special Blossom.”;)
1. What did you think about the episode? Better than I thought it would be. I think Nancy’s a damn good writer. That dinner scene was heartwarming and hilarious.
2. Do you think other vamps will come for Alex? On screen? No. Not for a long time anyway.
3. What did you think about the two young women’s stories? Well I liked the episode but wouldn’t want too much of it.
4. Poor Jody’s leg….poor leg. Owch yes. 😮
5. Someone buy Dean a chicken and some potatoes so he can learn to use the bunker kitchen. That was so sweet when they were enjoying such a simple meal. Dean needs to learn how to cook!
This was not the horrible ep I anticipated, but IMO it was the second worst ep of the season. There were some good parts, especially the dinner scene. Sam and Dean acting like a regular old-fashioned chicken dinner was some amazing culinary triumph was both hilarious and sad at the same time. Loved it. In general I enjoyed Sam and Dean here, although there was far too little of them in it. While I thought the tired vamp story was really dull,, with nothing new or original about it, I love how Nancy is writing the brothers. Over the past few years so many of the writers started assigning the same stock roles to the brothers- Dean makes nice connections with the guest stars and has cool action scenes; Sam gets to listen to uninteresting guest stars emote while he nods his head sympathetically, and then looks inept while getting beat up by the bad guys. Nancy seemingly has not read that playbook because just as in her first ep, both brothers had meaningful conversations with the other characters, did interesting parts of the investigation, and looked competent in the fight. When the vamp knocked Sam over the railing I thought, here we go, Sam’s down for the count, Dean to the rescue. But lo and behold, Sam continued the fight and kicked the vamp’s ass. As an aside, when in the course of the show did vamps lose their super strength? They no longer seem like particularly formidable adversaries. I also like how Nancy wrote the intro scene between the brothers. So far she really seems to get their dynamic. She just needs to be a little more original in the MOTW aspects.
Claire was still annoying- more so than in her last ep, less than she was in her first two eps. But I just find her to be a stereotypical angsty teenager. Sure she has more reason for angst than most teenagers, but her behavior fit every tired cliche of the troubled, smart-mouthed teen girl. It is simply not interesting to me. Alex has had just as horrible a life, yet seemed more interesting and sympathetic by far.
I liked Jody’s dynamic with the girls, but mom Jody does not appeal to me nearly as much as friend-to-the-bros, budding hunter Jody. If they spin this off into a new series, it is not a series I would ever watch. A domestic drama set in the world of the supernatural does not interest me. And the main failing of this ep is that its focus was that domestic drama. I am never wild about the eps that are light on the brothers, but sometimes they are interesting in their own right. I actually liked Bitten because it had interesting characters and an interesting spin on a MOTW. I just didn’t consider it a good SPN ep because there was almost no brothers in it. This ep had some nice bro scenes wrapped around a boring MOTW and a group of characters whose relationships I can’t bring myself to care about that much. There was not one exciting scene. It was mostly dull. My teen daughter turned to me after it was over and said “It was OK. I give it a 6 out of 10.” I think she was being a bit generous.
Bottom line, this ep brought the myth arc to a screeching halt with what was unexciting filler. In stark contrast was last week’s ep which was light on the myth arc but had great new characters, an original MOTW, and lots more brothers. I hope this is the last we see of Jody and the girls. One look at their family life and drama was more than enough.
1. What did you think about the episode?
This episode was just okay, I’d give it a C- . The writing and characterizations were okay but it wasn’t a strong premise to begin with, and ended up being very predictable. Figured early on that it was one of their pasts coming back to bite them in the ass; Alex’s boyfriend could have worn a sticker that said “bad guy” – they kind of telegraphed that as well. Very heavy on the flashbacks and monster exposition. The vampire episodes on Supernatural are getting a little tedious. The awkward dinner scene was funny; what on earth was Jody thinking, looking to Sam and Dean for help with Alex and Claire during that conversation? On the bright side, Claire was not Mary Sue’d in to Charlie II the uber-hunter. I did think it was strange that Claire didn’t ask about Castiel, or did I miss that? Sheriff Jody was great as always; a very strong and relatable character.
2. Do you think other vamps will come for Alex?
Possibly, but we won’t see it.
3. What did you think about the two young women’s stories?
Alex was ok but Claire can be a little grating.
4. Poor Jody’s leg….poor leg.
Ouch.. Jody is one tough sheriff.
5. Someone buy Dean a chicken and some potatoes so he can learn to use the bunker kitchen.
I never understood the appeal of those awful Elvis-like burgers where people use grilled cheese sandwiches, or donuts as the bun for a hamburger. They look disgusting.
Not a compelling hour of TV. I found it SLOW. I still can’t stand Claire. If there is a spin-off, I would not watch it. D+
I love the fact that my reaction of “not as bad as I was expecting” is still better than anything from the previous two seasons. And I’ll say it again; Carver has been reading our cards and letters. Sam getting to talk to both girls? Part of the action and not getting knocked out and shoved into the corner while Dean and Claire play with the vampires? I’m telling you, they heard us.
I like Nancy Won’s writing. She managed to make what could have been an extremely boring and tedious Vampire episode, somewhat interesting. I’m afraid if this episode was any indication, a “Wayward Daughters” spinoff would be really awful. Sam and Dean were the only thing keeping this from being “Bloodlines’ terrible. The dinner scene was funny and their interaction with Jody and the girls was good.
Claire did not bug me as much as I thought she would, but I was expecting cringe-worthy, so maybe that was it. I think the problem between her and Alex, besides the fact that Alex is the more likable character, is that the girl playing Claire is just not as good of an actress. She’s improved since her first appearance on Supernatural, but she doesn’t have the depth to make such an obnoxious role more palatable. It’s just annoying. But, like I said, not nearly as bad as I expected.
And dammit, they need to quit beating on Jody! Everytime she’s in an episode, she gets beat up, stabbed, and broken. And I’m with whoever wondered about Claire asking about Castiel. Since he’s the only reason she’s around in the first place, it was weird that he wasn’t there and that she didn’t ask about him. This episode was really the epitome of “filler”. A chance for J2 to have some time off and fulfill their 23 episode commitment. I’m just glad the Nep duo didn’t write it because it would have been unwatchable.
Next week looks ……..interesting. An oh Alice, as a side note. Did you scream at that shout out to Kim Manners in this week’s X Files episode? Mulder and Scully were killing it.

Please tell what is the story behind the photo ?
What did you think about the episode?
Awesome!
Do you think other vamps will come for Alex?
I hope so. I like the character, and want to see more of her.
What did you think about the two young women’s stories?
Both casualties of war, and both may never be able to live a normal life. It works!
Poor Jody’s leg….poor leg.
Ouch!
Someone buy Dean a chicken and some potatoes so he can learn to use the bunker kitchen.
Jodi and the girls could use a man or two around the house. I say NO CHICKEN AND POTATOES FOR DEAN. Let him drive over to Jodi’s more often.
I though this was a great episode. Twisty enough to keep me interested. The dinner scene, with Sam and Dean having to deal with the “horrors” of everyday life was hysterical. They did a great job. I also loved the Alex/Claire punch/decapitate moment. I was touched by Alex’s desire to be done with monsters forever. Claire is super annoying, but so are many young women at that age. I think this is a great season, and this was one of the highlight episodes. Comparing this ep to Bloodlines? OTT.
Atfter watching it again…
1. What did you think about the episode?
It was SPN meets Blossom. Definite potential, squandered by writing in “Safe Mode”.
2. Do you think other vamps will come for Alex?
No. Again, another opportunity squandered. This idea could have been quite the interesting multi-episode arc. Not even the main theme, but somewhat of a b-plot to sprinkle throughout a few MOTW episodes for some additional fulfillment throughout the season – especially if they were considering another spin-off. Could have added some meat to the story, but that requires thought.
3. What did you think about the two young women’s stories?
Nonsense. One wants to eschew everything to go hunting, the other wants nothing to do with that life and concentrate on school and being normal. Ooh, the parallels! Bet it took all of 1.6 seconds to think of that. Lame fucks.
4. Poor Jody’s leg….poor leg.
The only supporting cast they have left that hasn’t been ruined … but they’re trying. Only interesting character remaining. Fantastic actress. When this show ends, I want Jodi Mills to be the only person standing. She can bury the boys once they die in the finale.
5. Someone buy Dean a chicken and some potatoes so he can learn to use the bunker kitchen.
A scene that would have worked better during the “on the run from the Leviathan” days, as apposed to years in the Bunker with a “fully stocked kitchen”. Any fan that thinks Sam and his health-shakes and farmers market visit’s hasn’t sorted out the cooking regime in the Bunker by now is a fucking dunce.
One wants to eschew everything to go hunting, the other wants nothing to do with that life and concentrate on school and being normal. Ooh, the parallels! Bet it took all of 1.6 seconds to think of that. Lame fucks.
Russ, first of all I love your use of eschew. It’s one of my favorite words but is incredibly difficult to work into ordinary conversations.:)
Second of all, I guess I’m a lame fuck, because these parallels didn’t really occur to me. In my defense, I didn’t give enough of a crap about the girls, especially Claire, to give it much thought. But now that you have brought it to my attention, I have a theory. This ep WAS a trial balloon for a spin-off. The new show will involve two daughters and their mom. Alex is smart, eschews the hunting life :), and wants to go to college and live a normal life. However, she feels guilty and even tainted by her time as an honorary monster. Claire is consumed by the idea of hunting and seems to relish hacking off vamps heads with machetes, and even playing rough with people that she believes to be monsters. THIS is the life she was meant for. Their somewhat contentious family life is destroyed in an instant when Jody (sorry Jody- literary symmetry requires your death!) is brutally killed by a vamp who wants to bring Alex back into the fold. This compels Alex to give up all notions of having a normal life and instead reunite with Claire as they road trip around the country hunting for Jody’s killer and slaying monsters along the way. They will road trip in Jody’s badass impala, I mean sheriff’s truck, which has plenty of room for weaponry and bodies. Now of course they will need some sort of parental figure to replace Jody, perhaps a kindly woman who knows about monsters and can provide sage advice to the young girls. Now let’s see, who can fill that role? Donna, of course. This stuff practically writes itself! What do you think so far? They should hire me as a writer. Of course it’s easy enough when you’re just recycling story lines without an iota of originality.
I just threw up in my mouth a little. Gawd don’t help TPTB write up the spin off. I could see them reading your comment and being all “THIS! It’s “Supernatural: The COLLEGE Years” that everyone has always wanted! Only not with Dean or Sam… It’s brilliant!!!” and running with it. And then thinking it would be a good idea to resurrect Bloodlines and have the girls meet up with Ennis- Oh God! Now I’VE given them an idea! This must stop, right here and now lest we end up with something we will forever regret! 😉
Not Ennis. Krissi and her crew and then it can be the most annoying teenage hunting posse on the planet. And then Krissi and Claire can antagonize each other and when Sam and Dean show up once in a while, they can vie for who can spend more time with Dean teasing him about being lame. Ooo the fun! I’m making myself a little sick.
Girls they wouldn’t need weapons or need to be particularly tough in your version of the story. All of them together annoying each other being painful teenage asses would be enough for any monster to run for the hills or just die on the spot Now that would be fun. NOT
painful teenage asses
😀 nicely put!
Krissi and her crew and then it can be the most annoying teenage hunting posse on the planet.
The horror! the inhumanity! sylvia, if they ever really did have a show like that, with not just one but TWO of my three most disliked SPN characters ever, my cries of pain and outrage would shatter decibel records (and also make my pets very uncomfortable). I can’t even wrap my head around the sheer awfulness of such a show.
I cannot conceive of a more annoying paring than Krissy and Claire. Ugh, I don’t think my TV screen would survive it.
Goddammit! Am I still the only person that likes Krissy?
With the exception of Alex, she’s the only person to turn into a hunter that actually makes sense. She grew up with a father that hunted; she figured out what he did on her own; she knows the life and living on the road; she has good instincts.
Pairing her with Alex would be rad.
Alex works. There’s some genuine PTSD issues there to work with to make a compelling story (in the hands of the right creative team). It’s a pity they crammed them into one episode.
Fuck Claire off. Claire was forced down our throat just to give emo-Cas something to whine about, and she’s annoying. They really need to shift gears with her, but I think the damage is done. 3 episodes in the only thing they managed to improve was her hairstyle.
Turning her into a whiny teenage wannabee-hunter was the real mistake. She would have been far more interesting had, after seeing everything, and even being host to Cas for a quick minute, gone the more educational/learned route. An actual Woman of Letters, not a hunter. The bunker is right there, and with them wasting Charlie by also trying to turn her into a hunter (both unsuccessfully and unnecessarily), this show is in serious need of some smart.
They could have planted that seed with Claire, but they gave us some not-smart instead.
So here’s what they need to do. One more try at a pilot. WoL/Wayward Daughters, or whatever it’s called.
Krissy and crew find themselves in South Dakota (they’re only two states away in Kansas), after tracking a monster that killed one of the team. They bump into Team Jody hunting the same thing. They find monster, but it’s more than one. Big fight. All of Krissy’s team dies except her; Claire gets killed in the big sad finale; Krissy joins Team Jody. There it is. Some sensible semi-intelligent non-whiny teenage hunters.
I got your back with Krissy. 😉
Miss Nola, you really like Krissy?
I like a lot of the guest stars. I still want more MACKEY.
I LOVE J2M2 :D:D:D:D
I liked Mackey too. In just that one little scene he made a really good impression on me
Thank you, good lady. 🙂
All the things you say about Krissy are true, the groundwork for turning her into a hunter is there and it makes sense. She’s still an uber annoying, know it all teen with more mouth than sense. She bugs the ever living crap out of me. I am not sure who I hate more, Krissy or Claire….. to me they are equally annoying in that I want to slap their smart mouths right off their sullen faces; my palm of my hand literally itches to do so; not a ringing endorsement to cultivating my interest in either character. Let the spinoff contain Jody and Alex….. Krissy and Claire can go have a sullen-off to see which one is more annoyingly angst ridden…..winner gets taken by the next vamp, oh and the looser can get taken too. Then Jody and Alex can hunt them down. 😉
Russ, I like your plot except for the part where Krissy survives the carnage.:) It’s true that of all of the female insta-hunters, she’s the only one who is credible in that role given her upbringing. But man do I hate her. Even more than Claire! She’s like nails on a blackboard to me. When I hear and see her I want to bash my head against the wall. maybe she’s a banshee?
Nooooooo!!!!!!! See? See what you’ve done? You just added a third idea to the spinoff pot! What were you thinking? Have you no mercy? Next thing you know someone is going to suggest neighbors who just happen to be a family of friendly misunderstood monsters that will take them all under their wing and in an effort to be helpful to humankind will make known the way of their kind, ultimately opening up a school for monsters and hu- Awh, damn it! Make that four ideas.
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
Then my work is done.:) Seriously though, as much as I’m thinking I’m way off the mark, there has been a lot of online nonsense- I mean enthusiasm;), about a Wayward daughters spinoff. And it did strike me as a bit odd that Alex seemingly out of the blue revealed how she needed to get away from all of the monsters. So what if the next spinoff attempt really is just a female version of Sam and Dean? Maybe they figure that if the formula ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Eww, now I’m throwing up in my mouth.:p
I think Ennis stars in How to Get Away with Mulder now.
Whew! I guess we dodged that bullet then! 😉
Thanks, samandean10. Your post so cracked me up, but judging by everything, that’s exactly what they are planning.
Russ, Kim can be seen on a new show called COLONY on USA in the states.
It’s about “occupied” Los Angeles present day.
