Jeremy Carver talked to TVLine about tonight’s finale
what is Dean’s state of mind? Is there even any of the old hunter left in there to salvage? “That’s one of the central questions of the finale,” Carver teases. “I wouldn’t want to ruin anything by saying any more than that.”…
So just how far down this dark rabbit hole will Sam go in his quest to rid Dean of the Mark? “I don’t think we’ve ever seen him go further,” Carver attests. Then there’s the issue of whether Sam and Castiel — who was on the receiving end of a brutal beating from Dean in last week’s episode — are even on the same page with regards to helping their brother/friend. “Yes and no,” the EP replies. “There’s the question of cost.”
The CW is showing a repeat of episode 10.22, “The Prisoner”, at 8:00 before the finale.
Sam is determined to save Dean. Dean is determined to save the world from himself. Cas asks Crowley to help save Dean, Rowena will help even though she “barely knows the man”. Rowena refuses to cast the spell unless they renegotiate the contract.Crowley and Rowena meet for the first time since she tried to kill him. Dean summons Death, who agrees to remove the Mark of Cain but only if Dean meets one non-negotiable condition. I’m glad to see that, in the 2 days until the finale snippet, Sam FINALLY says “Yes there will be consequences, but no one knows what they will be”. That is a big point. If it destroys the world, then no you don’t save Dean. If Sam quacks like a duck for the rest of his life then you save Dean.
Will Rowena and Crowley try to kill each other? Which one will come out on top of their struggle? Will Cas be able to keep them on task? What is Death’s non-negotiable condition? Can Sam save Dean? Will Dean be saved at all? What part will the Book of the Damned play in all of this? What are the consequences of removing the Mark either by Death or by the Book? Let us know in the comments.
