Fan Video of the Week: Supernatural Reflections “Knocking On Heavens Door”
Once in a while I click on a fan video that immediately pulls me in. I love this song and the version from Raign is beautiful. All four main Supernatural characters appear on the video, including the emotional parts when they got through the toughest parts of their lives. The video shows either a lesson to be learned or a friend or family member that pulled them back from the ledge, but also that those who are close to you can sometimes hurt you the most. It also shows that what you do or decide has consequences, good and bad, but there is also hope. In the end, they have survived to fight again but of course not without casualities. It is also what we are heading into in season 11.

“Knocking On Heavens Door” by Raign
Mama take this badge from me
I can’t use it anymore
It’s getting dark too dark to see
And I’m feel like I’m knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Mama put my guns in the ground
I can’t shoot them anymore
That cold black cloud is comin’ around
And I’m feel like I’m knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Feels like I’m
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Feels like I’m
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Feels like I’m
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Mama tell me
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Feels like I’m
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Feels like I’m
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
Knock-knock-knockin’ on heaven’s door
More about Raign here. http://www.iamraign.com/
The song “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” has been used many times. Raign’s version is one of them, being featured in season 2 finale of The 100 (TV series).
The original was written and sung by Bob Dylan:
“Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” is a song written and sung by Bob Dylan, for the soundtrack of the 1973 film Pat Garett and Billy the Kid. Released as a single, it reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Described by Dylan biographer Clinton Heylin as “an exercise in splendid simplicity,” the song, measured simply in terms of the number of other artists who have covered it, is one of Dylan’s most popular post-1960s compositions.
Members of the Western Writers of America chose it as one of the Top 100 Western songs of all time.
Guns N’ Roses “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”
In 1987, Guns N’ Roses started including the song in their live sets. A live version of the track was initially released on the maxi-single of “Welcome to the Jungle” the same year. They recorded a studio version in 1990 for the Days of Thunder Soundtrack, which was later slightly modified for the 1991 album Use Your Illusion II (basically discarding the responses in the second verse). Released as the fourth single from the album, it reached #2 on the UK Singles Chart as well as #12 in Australia and #1 in Ireland. Their performance of the song at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992 was used as the B-side for the single release and was also included on their Live Era: ’87–’93 album, released in 1999.

Nice video and a nice version of the song.
I liked that it had TFW and Crowley and that all were entwined by a story. The song was great and fit really well on the video. Raign has been used a lot by CW. Her songs have been on the 100, TWD and the Originals.
Glad you liked the video!

Thank you for taking the time to post these videos. This one was good but I really liked the one that is offered as a choice at the end entitled ” I cannot do it without my brother.”
Ok that video (I can’t do it without my brother) should come with a warning label. Side affects, may cause ugly crying.
I like to watch fan videos myself so it is a pleasure to share what I find. My list would be pretty long if I could put every video on my list what I think are great. 🙂
About the video of your choice. You mean this one?

Cheryl was right. Ugly crying followed. *hugs Sam*

Cheryl was most definitely right. That was just beautiful and so darn sad! How these fictional characters can break my heart!
Really beautiful video!!
YES, that’s the one. Great of you to post it. Thank you. It captures the essence of the show: The brother’s relationship; their love for one another and their tragic and heroic stance facing their lot in life. How even when they act individually it is defined by their unique relationship.
Thanks for pointing this video out spnlit. I think it’s one of the best ones I’ve ever seen.
I think the video enhanced my understanding and enjoyment of season 10. I loved how it is a look back from season 10 from mainly Sam’s perspective, through his eyes, and includes images of young Sam (loved Colin Ford’s portrayal). It was reminder of Dean’s love and driving force of saving Sam but it also emphasized Sam’s evolution, growth, maturity and love for Dean.
This is one I came across randomly recently that I liked.

I think this video was better than the whole of Season 10.
It’s also a very misleading video. It gives the impression the current batch of writers actually has a structured storyline for the show. In actually, they just throw stuff together and make it up as they go along.
