SEASON FINALE – EXTEND SYNOPSIS
“Sacrifice†8.23
WHAT MUST SAM, DEAN AND CASTIEL SACRIFICE TO FOREVER SEAL HELL? — With Crowley (guest star Mark Sheppard) poised to undo all the good they’ve ever done as hunters, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) find themselves cornered. But with Kevin’s (guest star Osric Chau) help, the Winchester brothers bound into one last play against The Demon King. Metatron (guest star Curtis Armstrong) initiates a plan with Castiel (Misha Collins) to take on Naomi (guest star Amanda Tapping) and the bureaucracy of Heaven. Alaina Huffman and Kim Rhodes also guest star. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver (#823).
What are your thoughts? What do you think of the finale description? At least we now know how the past is being used against the boys by Crowley. How far does “all the good” go? I mean, does that include the Apocalypse? Or just the people saved.
Also Kim Rhodes guest stars!
Theories anyone?

OMG. My stomach is in such knots!!!! Oh boy, I think the finale is going to be a killer! And summer hellatus will be hellatious!
I think cas is the one who will sacrifice himself
Maybe his grace … he’s back next season as a regular so he won’t be killed!

If that’s the case, I would love to see how that works out for Cas next season.
Yay! The return of Jodie Mills. She and Sam seem to be forming a bond in one of the previous episodes and that’s a good thing for Sam.
Truthfully after all he has been through – I will not be surprised if Kevin willing pays the ultimate price.
Poor kid has had a rough time of it and if his mom is really dead … I could see it. Chuck never had it nearly so bad!
Yea!! Kim Rhodes is back!!!!
Yay! Jodie Mills is back at last! I’d just about given up hope that we’d be seeing her this season.
Holy crap. Just the mention of the word “finale” put knots is my stomach, but the fact that they use the word “Sacrifice” in any shape or form totally freaks me out. Yikes. I think I’m gonna start stocking up on chocolate already.
Kim Rhodes? Kim Rhodes!!!
Finally!
*All Smiles Here*
…Hope she doesn’t die.
we haven’t seen jody mills all season and now she shows up….is it too much to hope that it’s in fb form or at the very most it’s made it known that sam went to her when dean vanished….that he actually had contact with someone and her reappearance could revisit that.

This is exactly what I’ve been wondering (and very much hoping to see). Thinking about Jared’s tweet about how he got himself into an ’emotional place’ whilst filming the finale and reading this about Jodie Mills…makes me wonder if we might be getting a flashback and we see that Sam went to Jodie after Dean disappeared.
I don’t really think they are going to close the gates of hell. Through out the season the show has repeatedly mention the ” the evil” the humans have brought to earth by our choices. If they close the gates to hell, it’s only a matter of time before word is spread that there is no hell. No matter what u do, there will be nothing to keep people in line. No balance. Also what about all the demons that are already on earth. When the winchesters kill them, does that mean they go straight to heaven? There’s no way they can get away with letting evil things in heaven even though the angel are corrupt.
The problem is that I don’t believe that Hell operates that way in the Supernatural universe. The only reason we’ve seen that people go to Hell in Supernatural is because they made a 10 year deal with a demon, some selfish, others not, or because a demon tricked them into Hell. So I’m not sure there is an issue of balance at all. There’s never been mention that the concept of Hell keeps people in the universe of Supernatural in line.
Re: the demons who would be left after they close the gates – last episode we were introduced to the concept of “curing” demons. This appears to open the door for remaining demons to be cured.
I think it was season 4 that dean was having trouble dealing with torturing ” innocent souls” in hell. And Bobby didnt make a deal. Well he did but he got his soul back before he died. Plus remember the 7 deadly sins that were demons. And when Crowley showed what hell was like after he took over ( people standing in am never ending line. They have to get their supply somewhere. Those werent demons. didn’t the say that demons were once human. Not all the demons we’ve seen have been witches but we don’t really have a past story either. I’ve always liked this show bc they are incredibly accurate in folk lore, and they always make it tie together nicely where in the supernatural world it made sense. I guess we’ll see. Another the thought if u sell your soul and climb out does that release you. Bc that’s what happened to their dad. (Sorry I got lost in thought and forgot my main point)
