It's preview time, The 6th last episode of the season! Noooooooo!

And it appears to be a filler. Noooooooo!
Ok, let's take a look.
They killed Meg! You bastards!
Cass hitched a ride on a Greyhound bus with only the angel tablet for company.
Dean quoted the Hobbit, Sam teased him and they agreed to be honest with each other. (This could possibly constitute messing with the natural order of things).
Naomi and Crowley are currently screwed (and were possibly screwing at some point).
Krissy, remember her? She of the father and daughter hunting team, who were supposed to give up the life? Well, apparently, not so much.
Here's the synopsis.
SAM AND DEAN RUN ACROSS A NEW AND UNUSUAL TEAM OF HUNTERS — Sam and Dean investigate some recent vampire kills and are surprised to learn Krissy Chambers (guest star Madison McLaughlin) is involved. They find Krissy and learn her father was killed and she's been taken in by a man named Victor (guest star Adrian Hough), who has taken in a group of orphan kids to teach them how to hunt. Victor is helping the teenagers find the vampires who took their parents so they can get revenge. Sam is intrigued by Victor's method of giving the teenagers a home life as well as a hunting life, but Dean is suspicious of Victor's motives. John F. Showalter directed the episode written by Adam Glass.
John's last episode was "Man's Best Friend with Benefits" (don't judge him)! Adam's last episode was "As Time Goes By", that was a pretty good one! He also wrote the first episode with Krissy Chambers "Adventures in Babysitting" which I found on the average side.

Yeah, "Adventures in Babysitting" is not an episode I particularly love, nor do I particularly dislike it, it's just, one of those episodes. To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of Krissy. She was ok, but I wasn't in any hurry to see her again. She had some nice interactions with Dean. I do like seeing Dean with kids; it always makes me think about how he raised Sam. He seems very comfortable with them and talks to them like they're humans. As does Sam. I liked Sam's scenes with Krissy too. He's very empathetic with kids. He also looked so fabulously enormous next to her! So from that angle (the interactions, not the enormity), it'll be interesting to see Krissy again and to see Sam and Dean's take on her and what she's doing.
Vampires huh? Huh!
Let's look at the CW promo

The Victor guy seems to have Sam tied up. This is equal parts good and bad! So torn! Ok, maybe you didn't need to know that! It's bad, obviously *blushes*. Looks like the brothers end up well and truly at odds with the Victor/Fagin character. I don't know about teaching kids to chop vampires heads off...but then...our favourite brothers ever were raised like this. That would be pretty conflicting/confronting. Neither are particularly impressed with how they were raised like soldiers. But on the's kept them alive. It'll be interesting to see how they nut through this thorny little conundrum.

Preview clip!

Better than us? Pull your head in and speak for yourself! You're sitting with the two best hunters ever. They freakin' stopped the Apocalypse, locked up Lucifer, killed the mother of all monsters, fought off Leviathan. Sam went to law school too, you git. Better than us? Pffft! Also, like Dean it. No one disses Bobby. Don't you just love how Dean does that. I know I do. That guy's already rubbed me up the wrong way. Oh and, since when has revenge ever been a good thing... Victor is definitely off on the wrong foot!

Oh looky here...CHCH promo!

If any two men would know what being raised as a hunter does to a kid's headspace and their future headspace, it's Sam and Dean. This could be kind of interesting huh? Seeing that reflected back at them.

Mr Carver apparently doesn't love us anymore...we haven't had a preview since 8.14. Come back to us Jeremy! *Mumbles* geesh, anyone would think he's busy producing a TV show or something!

Sometimes filler episodes surprise us. Sometimes they have scenes at the beginning or the end that tie through to the previous episode or the episode to come, or the mythology. Season 8 has been pretty good like that, constantly giving us little reminders as to where we're at. So I'm hoping to maybe get a scene with Sam and Dean talking about the tablets, or the trials, or how Sam is going, or how they're going, or who Naomi is (now Dean knows her name), or Meg, or Cass, or whether Dean needs 10 minutes (sorry...), or something.

So what do you think? Are you Team Krissy? Yes/No. Are you looking forward to this episode. Do you wish it wasn't a filler or do you need a mini emotional hiatus after last week?

Let me know your thoughts - hit me in the comments!

Thanks for reading. See you in reviewland.

What a great summary Amy, so glad to see last weeks episode has us all in a very playful, upbeat mood. (Although it takes a lot for you not to be upbeat when Deans involved !) I'm kind of ambivalent about Krissy and sad about her Dad but more than willing to have the SPN team take me on the ride.

Hmmm, looks like Dean Winchesters brief foray into career guidance ended in abject failure!

You know, this mightn't be bad. I've generally enjoyed the filler episodes this season (Everyone Hates Hitler and Remember The Titans were excellent) so maybe?

Loved this preview! Nicely done, Amy. I think this will be a fun episode but I do want more interaction between the brothers and some more time in the bunker. I suppose they are teasing us with little glimpses of the bunker because it will be around for a while but I would love to see more of it! I do kinda wish we could see Sam's room too...

I'm going to try to be positive about this filler episode. I've enjoyed the last 2 but will miss the arc based episode.

You forgot to mention that Adrian Hough was in 'Something Wicked'. He played Dr. Hydeker/the Shtriga.
# sweetondean 2013-03-26 19:29
D'oh! That was in my notes too! Indeed he did!
# Sylvie 2013-03-27 07:52
Thank you! I thought he looked familiar. I knew I'd seen him as evil, but I couldn't put my finger on it. :-)

I didn't even watch Krissy's first episode, I skipped a lot on S7. I expect it to be boring unless the Alpha Vampire is involved. I don't give a flying fuck about MOTWs at this point, not that I cared much for them to begin with. Give me mytharc.
# sweetondean 2013-03-26 19:33
I'm a huge mytharc fan too. Love me some mytharc! But sometimes I'm surprised by the MOTW eps. Some of them have ended up being favourites!
# st50 2013-03-26 18:47
I have reservations about this one - not mytharc, Sam tied up with Dean having to protect him AGAIN (*sigh* I'm going to put it down to his illness or whatever, not incompetence) - but I am also determined to enjoy this one.
My mantra... ooooohm......
It will be good, it will be good, it will be good. :-)
# sweetondean 2013-03-26 19:31
He could have been caught unawares. Bonked on the head or something. It happens! :D

I like your mantra!
# E 2013-03-27 11:40
He he ST50. I was just thinking "Oh goodie! Tied up Sam! Love me some tire up Sammy." Different strokes and all that. I hope you enjoy the episode anyway.
# st50 2013-03-27 12:00
OMG E! :D
.... the images in my brain now.... thanks a lot! ;-)

Thanks. I intend to enjoy! :-)
# E 2013-03-27 13:35
heheh... oops!

Kind of liked "Adventures in babysitting". I enjoyed Dean and Krissy's interactions in the eposide. Always looking forward to a new eposide. This is the first season I have had to watch week by week, it has been murder! Like both mytharc and MOTW!!
# LEAH 2013-03-26 20:10
I thought AiB was an ok episode, and I have to say I enjoyed Dean and Krissy's banter. He does seem to have a way with the young'ens. Happy for any new episode, not that many left this year, and thats why I am getting ANTSY about the mytharc. :-?
# E 2013-03-26 20:30
Sweetondean; taking your point that often a well-written MOW episode is used to remind us of other things that are relevant and connect us to the larger myth arcs going on... I wonder if this episode is supposed to remind us about vampires and/or Benny or maybe foreshadow the return of the always fabulous Rick Worthy as the alpha vamp....? I hope that this episode is setting up a later connection like that... that would be awesome!
# sweetondean 2013-03-26 20:36
Totally agree - that was my Vampires! Huh! (It was late, possibly not my best work... :P ). I think there will be something pointing to the future or some conversation to be had for sure.

We know Benny is coming back.

If Rick's in this or the later episode I will be so stoked! I had lunch with him when I was in LA and purposely did not ask him about the show, just in case he was keeping something secret squirrel!! We drank beer, ate cupcakes and talked of travel instead. :-)
# E 2013-03-27 11:44
Oh wow! SoD. Fabulous. I am sure he must be as charming in person as he is onscreen. That voice; like warm caramel ... Hmmmm.
# Trucklady 2013-03-26 23:14
Great preview SOD. I am not real fond of the kids becoming hunters myself. So sad about Chrissy's dad though. Very curious as to why Sam ends up tied up. I did like the banter between Dean and Chrissy in AIB so looking forward to more of that. I also hope there will be some brother moments and a hint or two as to what's up with the Cas, the tablet and Naomi.

So you got to rub shoulders with another celebrity. I'm so jealous. You had dinner with Mark P. before and now Rick. How does one get so lucky? I'm in the wrong line of work for sure. Oh well, one more night to go and then there will only be 5 left. So sad to think it is coming to an end already. How will we make it through the summer?
# sweetondean 2013-03-30 21:55
Oh gosh, I sound like such a namedropping git! So not me!

The Mark thing was part of an event. But there was only 3 of us so it was quality time. It was a couple of (awesome) hours.

Rick yeah, well Rick was different. That was lunch we arranged when I told him we were going to be in LA. He's a very nice dude.
# Kim 2013-03-27 02:13
I'm sure there's something nefarious about the "school," but I'm kind of jazzed about an X-Men style institute for hunters. That being said, I can't imagine any of the kids that are already invested will just quit hunting even if Dean and Sam find an ironclad reason to dismantle it. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

And maybe I'm wrong, but we've seen very little of other hunters so far in Season 8, so maybe these kids ARE the new generation and will have a bigger role in the future?
# Sylvie 2013-03-27 08:02
I liked Krissy, but I'm sorry to hear that her dad is dead, I liked him too. Adam Glass is not exactly one of my favourite writers, but hey, who knows? Stranger things have happened. I will reserve my judgment until after I've seen the episode. Thanks for the preview Amy and happy viewing everyone.

Thank you for this article, Sweetondean. I was laboring under a misconception about who exactly said what in the episode previews, and you have cleared that up- and made it possible for me to see this episode in a positive light. So thanks.
# prix68q 2013-03-27 12:00
If I can,t have the myth arc then this episode sounds intriguing. A conundrum for the boys since they were raised to be hunters without the benefit of friends their own age that were in the life and a steady school environment. That might have made things better for them. Kind of a Harry Potter meets SPN and kids to kill t really a good career for future happiness and longevity.
# Grace232 2013-03-27 22:16
SPOILER ALERT Do not read this if you have not seen Freaks and Geeks:

I liked the episode - even though it was totally predictable. I knew Victor was the killer as soon as we met him, since it was clear the vamp they killed was not the killer. And, as soon as Sam and Victor headed out after the blue van, I knew how that would end. That is frustrating, since I am not that smart and Sam is, so he should have known too.

That being said, liked the brothers working together, looking out for each other, liked the kids, watching Dean with kids is always fun, and Dean's line to Aiden at the end was classic! The good luck was perfect!

Also glad to see we are back to the trials next week - the teaser looked so good with Sam up against Crowley and Dean going to Benny for help.
