Running bits? Yeah, you know, those little jokes/references that just won’t die. Something started on a whim early in the series and still carries on years later because their mention makes fans happy. “Supernatural” especially loves repeating items from it’s vast archive simply because it can.
There are the obvious ones, like the rock star aliases for their fake FBI identities, that are just too numerous to mention. What’s on this list are still fan favorites, but they are the lesser used bits. Those that hold a special place in the fandom’s heart. In no particular order, here’s my fond salute to ten fantastic bits from “Supernatural.”
Magic Fingers
Magic Fingers has been more popular in earlier seasons, but the references have always been popular in the fandom. It’s certainly made a lot of fan fics. It makes sense though. After all, when have you ever seen Dean Winchester this happy?
Yes, the magic fingers was always Dean’s sort of thing. We never caught Sam indulging. Interesting though, the last Dean sighting of his cheap motel indulgence was in season six’s “Two and a Half Men.”
However, leave it up to our current writing team to remember an old classic. Season twelve and low and behold, Dean isn’t the only one that digs that magical box that only requires quarters for a good time. Mary mentions “Magic Fingers” in her list of current plans in the recent episode “Family Feud.” Like mother like son.

As many of you know, I am expecting my first baby in October. (In fact, Alice has started a betting pool on when I’ll deliver, so check out the forums and weigh in. There’s even a prize involved!) And since I have my priorities straight, this kid is going to need some “Supernatural” baby gear…
#5 – Anna Milton So what makes Anna a reluctant and unwilling hero? She was an almightly and powerful angel and gave it all up. She lost faith, got disillusioned, and decided to pursue human pleasure. Worse, she even threw her grace down to Kentucky, the one state that had no idea what to do with it…
Let’s face it. The heroes in this show are accidental and often reluctant heroes. The people on this list support that. #10 – Corbett Yes, that poor dead gay intern won us over, pulling himself together over the trauma of his own death long enough to take out the twisted birthday party ghost that threatened to…
I sat down today all ready to write down my New Year’s resolutions, yet somehow my drifting mind and wandering fingertips came up with a Top Ten Supernatural Brotherly Moments list instead. Maybe because yesterday was our season one episode marathon and I realized all the really cool brotherly stuff was in the other three seasons. Needless to…
You know, there are advantages to a Hellatus. This is the time where we can kick back a little and do some fun stuff. While I’m still feverishly trying to catch up with my TWO missing recaps, I thought that this great list that Randal sent me would be an ideal way to kick start some of that fun. He has…
