It’s nice to see that they are working together on this! That means Sam stopped sneaking around and Dean stopped to listen…..good progress for both our boys!
Sounds like Dean is saying “Can Sam meet with Lucifer… but the sentence is then cut off. My guess is the rest of that sentence is something like …without actually going into the cage”. Metaphysically, or something like that. Through a spell with Rowenas help. I don’t think Dean’s 100% Up With People yet. Remains to be seen.
I could se him saying that, but Sam would pretty much have to go physically.
If he goes Astrally, then he’s not ‘locked’ in his body, just tethered to it.
Therefore rather vulnerable to Lucifer (or Micheal for that manner) who has a lot more experience with the astral realm.
You see, Sam wouldn’t be in his body to deny permission and could be moved over, or cut off. Then Sam is an empty vessel.
