Fan Video of the Week: Supernatural Reflections “Paper Moon”
Is it time for Thriller?
This was one of those weeks that I really needed to think what video to choose this time. I knew there was a rerun for Paper Moon but still I hadn’t found a video nor a thought for another video. That was until a SPN friend had found one and showed it to me that actually fit in a weird way for this week.
I have always liked Thriller as a song and the video I found actually combined clips from season 10 and before that and picked up scenes that fit to the music. I especially love the ending where Vincent Price is talking. When I was young they played old horror movies in summer holidays and those movies are one reason why I like the shows and the movies I do.
Vincent Price, Sir Christopher Lee who passed away just little while ago among others painted the way for Supernatural and others to follow. So, in their words it is good way to end this introduction before the video. You did good gents.
“I will play no more monsters. Dracula is different; he is such an exciting person.” Sir Christopher Lee
“”Gothic” is just a word recalling a multitude of sins!” Vincent Price

Thriller by Michael Jackson
[Verse 1:]
It’s close to midnight and something evil’s lurking in the dark
Under the moonlight you see a sight that almost stops your heart
You try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it
You start to freeze as horror looks you right between the eyes,
You’re paralyzed
[Chorus:]
‘Cause this is thriller, thriller night
And no one’s gonna save you from the beast about to strike
You know it’s thriller, thriller night
You’re fighting for your life inside a killer, thriller tonight
[Verse 2:]
You hear the door slam and realize there’s nowhere left to run
You feel the cold hand and wonder if you’ll ever see the sun
You close your eyes and hope that this is just imagination
But all the while you hear the creature creepin’up behind
You’re out of time
[Chorus:]
‘Cause this is thriller, thriller night
There ain’t no second chance against the thing with forty eyes
You know it’s thriller, thriller night
You’re fighting to survive inside a killer, thriller tonight
[Bridge:]
Night creatures call
And the dead start to walk in their masquerade
There’s no escapin’ the jaws of the alien this time (they’re open wide)
This is the end of your life
[Verse 3:]
They’re out to get you, there’s demons closing in on every side
They will possess you unless you change the number on your dial
Now is the time for you and I to cuddle close together
All thru the night I’ll save you from the terrors on the screen,
I’ll make you see
[Chorus:]
That it’s a thriller, thriller night
‘Cause I can thrill you more than any ghost would dare to try
Girl, this is thriller, thriller night
So let me hold you tight and share a killer, diller, chiller
Thriller here tonight
[Rap – Vincent Price:]
Darkness falls across the land
The midnite hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y’awl’s neighbourhood
And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of hell
And rot inside a corpse’s shell
The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller
Can you dig it?!
[Into maniacal laugh, in deep echo]
“Thriller is the sixth studio album by the American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was released on November 30, 1982, by Epic Records, as the follow-up to Jackson’s critically and commercially successful 1979 album Off the Wall. Thriller explores similar genres to those of Off the Wall, including pop, R&B, rock, post-disco, funk, and adult contemporary music. Recording sessions took place between April and November 1982 at Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California, with a production budget of $750,000, assisted by producer Quincy Jones.
Thriller was ranked number 20 on Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list in 2003, and was listed by the National Association of Recording Merchandisers at number three in its “Definitive 200” albums of all time. The Thriller album was included in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry of culturally significant recordings, and the Thriller video was included in the National Film Preservation Board’s National Film Registry of “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant films”. In 2012, Slant Magazine listed the album at number one on its list of “Best Albums of the 1980s”.” from Wikipedia

That was freakin’ awesome Lilah. It would be a great Halloween video. I am actually watching old Christopher Lee/Peter Cushing movies as I type.
Glad you liked it and it totally fits to Halloween. In old times I found Vincent Price and his voice soooo creepy in a good way. I did actually found really good versions of the same song also in other fan vids while I was checking how many are there. Totally worth the search in youtube.

Certainly reminds me that the creep factor was missing this season.
Great video! How I miss those creepy ghoulies and ghosties… and all their creepiness. Many of the ghosts lately are completely devoid of spook factor; ghost nun anyone? Not creepy at all. How i long for something truly scary like Dr. Benton.
spnlit and BoGirle, they have really traveled far from the early days haven’t they? I don’t know what the reason is but after season 1 the creepy factor has been going down gradually. I wouldn’t mind either if they would bring some of it back. Maybe old kind of horror is not in if you look at all the shows we are having at the moment. It is a shame tho, because that creepiness would fit the grownup boys like a glove.

The last episode that I remember being pretty creepy was Thinman. I actually thought the opening scene in the girl’s bedroom and the scene with the restaurant owner were pretty scary.
Hmmm, I think you are right. There are few that have gotten close like season 10 Khan worm one but I would call that a splatter more than creepy. Can’t handle that much blood so that actually worked for me in that sense. A4 was not super creepy but close too.
