We see the fallout from Charlie’s death. Dean is furious with Sam and blames Sam for Charlie’s death and wishes Sam had died instead. Dean is determined to make the Styne’s pay for Charlie. Sam also blames someone for everything, but it’s not clear who he is talking to. Cas tells Dean they were trying to help him, but Dean does not seem receptive. Sam is ready to give up on using the Book of the Damned to save Dean because of Dean’s reaction. However, he is still working with Rowena, who insists he kill Crowley before she helps. Dean gets captured by the Stynes. This looks like a really intense and exciting episode. What do you think will happen between Dean and the Stynes? Will they try to harvest Dean? How guilty will Sam feel? Will Cas be able to talk Dean down from his rage? Will Dean continue to want Sam to be dead? Will Sam kill Crowley? Even if he does, can Rowena cure the Mark? Tell us in the comments.
Discussion can also be continued on the Spoilers for episode 22 post on the Discussion page.
Great job on the Lite Previews.
The Prophecy must be fulfilled. If not now, when…..
These clips are very cleverly edited so we don’t know who is speaking to whom.
Statements can be deceptive.
GOOD SHOW SPNfamily:)
That thing Dean said to Sam about him should of been the one up there, not Charlie. SO. COLD. Wow! I’ve never heard Sam or Dean be so hateful towards one another. *rubs hands* Its going to be a good episode.. >=)
WHY OH WHY are the CW upfronts LAST….
tomorrow.
Ha, I love your take on this preview. Will Dean continue to want Sam to be Dead? Hee. Will there be more wailing and gnashing of teeth? Will the fandom continue their fight over who said what and was it worse to whom and why? Tune in tonight, same bat time same bat channel. 😉

Holy Flaming Moose, Batman !!!!!
That (considering the context) is literally the darkest joke I have ever seen. *applause*;)
To me, the snippet we get with Dean saying to Sam that it should be him (Sam) up there, is proof that the MoC has the upper hand inside Dean’s mind. No matter the pain, Dean would never want his brother dead, unless it’s no longer Dean in control. As hurtful as the words were Sam said to Dean in The Purge, it wasn’t like Sam was wishing Dean dead; rather Sam was trying to express that there were limits to how far he would go to save his brother, lines he would not cross — a line Dean once found back in When The Levee Breaks when he said he wouldn’t turn his brother into a monster via the demon blood just to keep him alive.
I guess all the ‘lengths’ Sam would go to save Dean are about to be fully revealed, what with killing Crowley and working with Rowena still very much in play. It will be interesting, indeed.
I cannot wait for tonight’s episode. I know Alice probably thinks I am an idiot, but I loved last week’s episode. It had me riveted to the screen. I am as invested in the end of this season as I was back in season 5. Just. Can’t. Wait!!!
No one’s an idiot for having another opinion. I too liked last weeks episode. 🙂
So I see Sam as an independent person and not Dean’s possession. And for that reason (for me) Dean telling Sam who he can and can’t mourn for and what he is or isn’t allowed to say, is way worse than Dean stamping his foot and saying (essentially) ‘I wish you were dead’. Weirdly (since apparently he literally means it – as we are being led to believe in other places) I found the line in this clip a good deal less disturbing since it sounds more hyperbolic. And, at that, I thought it was a truly nasty thing to say …
If Charlie were the first person ever to be killed as a result of going along with one of the Winchesters plans, or if Sam had put her in danger, or if he had kept the truth of what she was doing secret from her, or if she actually was their sister, or if they had known her longer than a wet week (like a certain non-combatant prophet I could mention)… well even then if you think it is ok for Dean to kill Sam or want him dead to punish him then there isn’t much for us to discuss.
He is probably going to try to kill Sam this episode – I think the gun is being pointed at Cas because Cas is between Dean and Sam while arguing their(Sam’s) side. Failing that I think he is going to try again next episode. And it still will just be an attack of outrage at not being obeyed / the results of the mark of Cain. The ‘shut-up I decide what you do/think/say/act upon’ is a much worse indictment of Dean. In my opinion.
I could wish that after Dean leaves the pyre, that Sam turns back to it and continues what he was trying to say. I could wish that the show said, here is an actual independent human being who matters as a person just as much as his brother. But of course he won’t, he will just accept Dean’s interpretation.
CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS!
I think that the fan favorite who will die is Crowley. Ackles has no idea how the writers are going to dig themselves out of that one so it’d make sense that it’s a character who is an integral part of the Winchesters’ orbit and at this point only Crowley and Castiel qualify.
There has also been no official announcement regarding Sheppard or Collins coming back for season eleven so I think that the producers want to keep everyone guessing what will happen to the characters. Last season, no one was worried about Castiel even though his grace was fading because everyone already knew that Misha had a contract for season 10. Although apparently Misha has told at a M&G that he will be back for next season.
Since Death will appear in the finale, I think that Dean asks Death to take him out because Dean fears that he’ll end up becoming a killer like Cain. Death would have a vested interest in preventing that from happening because genocide would mess with the natural order. Since Death said that he will reap God one day, Death is powerful enough to kill Dean permanently even though Dean has the mark of Cain.
Agreed. Sam will fail in his attempt to kill Crowley this episode because he’s in the finale as well. Besides, it’s been a while since Sam has been shown to be a competent hunter. I can’t see them killing off Castiel because of his popularity, though they did kind of wrap up his story in Angel Heart so maybe they’ll surprise us. So that leaves Crowley, or Sam.
No idea what happens in this one – the quickly cut/edited preview is intentionally misleading; early this season I was complaining that they didn’t have the guts to “go there” with Demon/MoC Dean; looks like they might.
Dean’s words to Sam are just so cruel. :(The boys have said some harsh stuff to each other over the years but never this bad before. Sam’s face afterwards…just heartbreaking. Dean must be rapidly losing control to the MOC right now.
Putting Dean’s words to one side I enjoyed the rest of the Producer’s Preview. These past few episodes I’ve really begun to love Rowena and I can’t wait to see what evil she has up her sleeve. Also can’t wait to see exactly what Sam is going to do in his desperation to save Dean, although I fear the lengths he is going to go to. Plus Jensen said in one interview recently that Jared out- cries him in the finale and I’m a huge sucker for a Teary!Sam. 🙂
