Will Sam meet Cain in this week’s Supernatural episode? Is there going to be a parallel between Cain/Abel and Sam/Dean? –JJThe Winchesters will certainly be hoping that Cain can help them out with their Mark problem. “Let me say this: I think the episode with Cain is really great,” executive producer Jeremy Carver says of Timothy Omundson’s return on Tuesday. When Dean seeks out the former Knight of Hell for some guidance, “from Cain’s point of view, he thinks he’s being helpful. That’s cagey and mysterious and deliberate in the way I’m saying that. But once you see the episode, you’ll see what I mean.”
Which gives me no clue if Sam even gets to meet Cain.
So we have the long awaited return of Cain, and he doesn’t seem happy. When Cain gave the Blade to Dean he made him promise to come back and kill him, but does he still want that? Will the First Blade be too much of a temptation for Cain? Did killing those Demons restart his blood lust? Both Dean and Cain have the blade at some point in the episode. Who will end up with it? Might Cain take the Blade and run? Or will Dean kill Cain with the Blade? In the sneak peek we see Cas confronting Cain and Cain recognizes him. Do they know each other from the dawn of time? Or has Cain found a way to catch up on all the news? Crowley bails on plans with Rowena? What plans does Rowena have? How does she let Crowley have it? Are you looking forward to Cain returning? Do you think he knows how to rid Dean of the Mark? If he does, will he help Dean or refuse to help? Give us your thoughts in the comments.
Cain’s way is that of the executioner, so I think these people got killed for their misdeeds. Or, they got possessed, so there was no other way with them. Cain must know about Cas since he listens to angelic radio like any sensible demon should do. Neither Cas nor Dean could beat Cain single-handed, still I feel almost sure that he will be dead by the end of the episode. Hope I’m wrong. Probably Cain will be defeated by Sam and Dean playing duets, fighting side by side. Rowena wants to have an upper hand in Hell, it’s obvious, and Crowley seems inclined to allow her, the poor guy. I’m really sorry for him, another victim of Dean Winchester’s merciless charisma. Does Cain know how to get away with the Mark? If he does, then the cure is scarier than the disease, and most likely, it somehow involves Sam.
hmm…. not sure. Based upon the episode’s title, you’d think it would be about Cain dying on his terms; so are all of these fight sequences a misdirection; maybe it is Cain “training” Dean? Or does Cain fall prey to the call of the First Blade again? I just hope they don’t impart Cain with an air of nobility and decency; he is the father of murder who killed his own brother. Good to see Castiel and Crowley back this episode.
:):):) Meanwhile, if anyone’s interested, Sam faces off with Garth over on the Food Network’s “America’s Best Hunter Chefs”, where Sam puts his grilled cheese sandwich making skills up against Garth’s heart and organ stew :):):)
dear, I am confused. Jared and DJ ?

J2 & M2 are back. ‘Tis all I need.
that’s how low my expectations are these days.
Considering they’re going on a mini hellatus I am anticipating a cliff-hanger, or at least their definition of a cliff-hanger. Doubtful they’ll be any resolution and I’m kinda expecting this Cain & Dean scene to be at the end of the episode. But perhaps this is where Cain tells Dean that he has to go thru 3 trials in order to remove the mark, but the trials are written on a secret tablet that only Metatron knows about. Other than that, I’ve got nothing. Guess we’ll find out (but not soon enough).

Sure, why not! Then they can just dust off some season eight scripts, substitute Dean’s name for Sam, have Cas do Dean’s part and Sam can get coffee for everyone.
My wild guess, Cain agrees to transfer the Mark and gives it to Sam. Sam never gets to talk about how having his body violated AGAIN feels. Dean angsts. Sam becomes a truly evil demon, as opposed to Dean the friendly Demon. Dean won’t try to cure Sam but will find a way for Sam to “die human”.

The thing is that i really do think that sam is not in the photos because he is doing something horrible and if they reveal it now we will not be SHOCKED enough.
Looks like Mommy Dearest has packed her bags and is ready to leave in the above pic – playing mind games on Crowley. Are those hex bags I see on the table, all ready to go? Whats in that vial she’s holding?
Since this will be the first time Dean has touched “My Precious” in awhile and Cain most likely ends up dead in this episode, I wonder how he is going to feel about relinquishing the Blade once more? I love how Cain just called it and took it from Dean. Like a dog returning to it’s original owner. Boom! Suck it Sha, I mean Dean!!! (That’s a Psych reference in case you never watched that show… and if you haven’t, you should! Like right now. What are you waiting for? Go! Go!!! You’ll thank me later. 😉
so this is the sarcasm thread. cool.
Bwaaahaaha! Thanks guys, you made me snort laugh!
Positive thoughts everyone!!! Prayer circle for Cain!!!!! Please don’t kill him off, please don’t kill him off…
It’s Sam who needs the prayer circle…. pray that he’s not shuttled off somewhere “for his own good.” Pray he’s actually present for the final showdown between Cain and Dean and actually gets to DO something (highly unlikely). Pray that Jared is off doing a movie which would explain why Sam’s had next to nothing to do for a year now; at least I’d know then that someone actually appreciates the man’s contribution or cares about writing decent material for him; he’s a talented actor, but you’d never know it by the dreck he’s been given lately.
Why not watch the episode and see how it plays out? It is probably more Dean centric because of Cain but who knows? Either way I think all concerned are in for a bumpy ride! I haven’t always liked where the dropped storylines or archs for Dean have gone either yet I’d rather have the show to watch rather than not. I honestly don’t understand why if it gives you so much pain and disappointment you continue to watch?
(Note From Alice – This comment was reported, twice. We have a rule for that AlyCat22! You can’t use the “if you don’t like it don’t watch” type comment to others. Why? Allow me to explain. You see, people like me for example have invested about 8 to 10 years of our lives on this show. We’re determined to stick it out to the end. So, when the show disappoints us, like it so often has lately, we have boards like this to vocalize our disappointment. It can be therapeutic at times (although I do get that excessive complaints can be a downer). Expressing disappointment and pain doesn’t make someone a bad fan. It makes someone a fan who cares. We care so much we hurt. So, try to be more sensitive when you see something like this. However, you’re new here, so I’ll just offer an explanation this time. Thanks!)
Sometimes it doesn’t matter how disappointed we are, fans can still be disappointed and loyal to the show. I too am very concerned over the lack of any story for Sam. We only have 9 more episodes left this season and it looks to be heavy in Crowley, Castiel and Dean. So far “crickets” on Sam. Doesn’t mean I will stop watching but I am just not as enthusiastic as I would like to be. Some of us are more disappointed than others. But we still hope. So we still watch.
I think Sam may get a boost in plot now, due to the outcome of this episode. either way, being a fairly neutral sam/dean/cas etc. fan, i think the season is bound to be dean centric, with the Mark of Cain storyline and such. However, as i said, i have been wrong before. Sam’s influence on the plot may be much greater later on than we may realize now. Now the episode is at it’s end i believe Sam will have a much greater push in plot.
Alice. My bad, I apologize. It wasn’t meant to say that anyone is a “bad fan” just more as a curious observation than anything else. I won’t post that comment again, however it does stay in my mind as a valid question. I have been properly corrected tho so that should satisfy those that reported my comment.
HAPPY MARDI GRAS #SPNfamily !!!!!!!!!!
happy mardi gras nola!
Happy Mardi Gras Miss Wilma!!!
I have to admit, Rowena has style, I wonder what she’ll do to Crowley when she finds out he ditched her for squirrel and moose? I don’t think Crowley really trusts her as of yet, but i have been wrong before… ah well, fingers crossed for another great episode! T-Minus 35 minutes to go everybody!:)

Hey, Aly, I’m with you here – a really great mystery that puzzles me – how people may feel (or at least sound) so -o done with the show and still make themselves stay fans. I even went so far that went and bought some books by Katherine Larsen and Lynn Zubernis who write about our fandom. Theirs are well-written books, tons of facts and thoughts there, but the authors focus on happy fans and avoid even mentioning unhappy ones. So I still don’t get it. If the fires have gone why to poke in the ashes – it will only hurt.
Fans can do whatever they like some can cheerlead the show and think it is the greatest thing since slice bread and others can voice their dislike of certain aspects of it . I have not really watched this season, last season was enough for me in how Sam was treated by both the writers and large parts of the fandom but that is just personal to me.
I am puzzled by how you can critique episodes that you say you haven’t even watched.
Well with respect it is not a debate or justification I want to get into. My critique as always been of Sam’s writing not the episodes themselves and that goes back to season 4 and has never really changed. If I had a go at this episode then you might have a point but my comment had nothing to do with the episode and that is a far as I will go with this.
