This page is a “safe place” for Sam fans.  Dean fans, please do not argue, disagree, debate or otherwise defend Dean here. We know there are two points of view to every issue! We know this show is equally about TWO brothers who love each other. Nothing will change that for us! This is “Sam’s study,” though, i.e. the place where Sam can lick his wounds and Sam fans can explore their ideas and discuss perspectives without fear of offending others, or being attacked, for their viewpoint. Be assured, Dean hate will not be allowed!

Love Sam, love Dean, love Sam and Dean. There is no Sam without Dean. There is no Dean without Sam. Love Jared, Love Jensen, love the relationship between Jared and Jensen. Love everything about them. Love the show will always love the show and it is all because of Sam and Dean and Jared and Jensen. Sam breaks my heart and Dean comes and rescues it. Sam makes mistakes and Dean still loves him above all else. Sam will do anything for his beloved brother (regardless of the writing sometimes) and Dean will do anything for his beloved brother (even if we are shocked by what he does). Sam is smart and brave and the perfect straight man to Dean’s silly jokes. Dean is smart and brave and loves to make his brother laugh or give him a classic bitch face. Sam tries to do the right thing even if he fails. Dean tries to do the right thing even if he wakes up a dam demon. I have every faith in this epic story that has consumed my life because I know that Sam and Dean and Jared and Jensen love each other and they never let me down.
And now there is a convention less than an hour from my house so I am going to go meet Sam and Dean and Jared and Jensen.:)

I too wanted to see who Sam (purified by the trials) was. Even though he was angel possessed I really think for a while we were getting just Sam. I would really like to see both brothers being just who they are (although it looks like Dean isn’t really going to be Dean for a long time). I don’t mind having a Sam going into uber save Dean at all costs Sam. I just hope we don’t get a character like Dean in the 2nd half of S8 who pretty much went out for a beer while Sam was basically dying in the church. I want a storyline that has the brothers together, fighting evil together. As much as I am enjoying creepy, skin crawling DD I really want the guys back. If Sam did something dark and monstrous I hope it isn’t something that Dean can’t forgive him for. No more wedges between the brothers. But in the end I guess we will get the story that Carver and company want to tell us. I’m in till the end.
Thanks for mentioning this place, Nightsky. I, too, am glad that Sam is just going to be Sam this season. I missed him last season. In the beginning he was Ezekiel/Gadreel and sometimes a Sam who didn’t know what was really going on, and in the second part, he was hurt, angry Sam and although he had a lot to do in the episodes, it seemed like, he didn’t really get to express much. I guess I’m afraid that the writers will build up this great story and then when Dean is back to normal, more or less, Sam will be lost again. Right now, in the last two episodes, we’ve seen him and felt him and I want that to continue. Especially because from the little I’ve seen, Demon Dean is going to say some really harsh things to him, things that are meant to hurt. I hope the intention of the writers is to bring this stuff out in the open and get it talked about by both of them. I’m just so afraid it’s going to be another case of Dean saying, “Sam…..” and Sam saying, “I know……” and that’s going to be the extent of the discussion and apologies. I NEED it to be more. I NEED real apologies and real feelings expressed. It’s my hope against hope. Whatever storyline they come up with for Sam, even if it’s just taking care of Dean, I can live with if they actually let Sam have some real feelings and emotions expressed. The Sam of the last two episodes have reminded me so much of the first three seasons, and I really love that. I know they aren’t the same people, but I just want them to have that brotherly bond back. No more contrived drama and no more lies and secrets. And while I’m at it, I want a pony. 😉

Absolutely amen to everything you said. I want the brothers back too. Both Brothers, equally. Talking. Loving each other again. No secrets. That’s [i]all[/i] I want (because I already have a pony!).

I am going to say that this comment applies to Sam because it is sad to me that he was less worried by Dean trying to kill HIM than by the state of the car, which if we were supposed to be taking all this seriously says terrible things about Sam’s self-esteem.
But he isn’t the only one. I have to say it is fascinating the sheer number of reviews and articles and comments (not trying to single anyone out, I just keep seeing the comments and I wanted to ask: why?) I have come across which have concluded that the ultimate example of Dean not being Dean and the one that REALLY matters is that he left a crumpled up coffee cup in the car.
DemonDean threatened to tear Sam’s throat out. What he did to Cole was awful. The way he treated the bargirl in the last episode and the stripper in this one was obnoxious.
The trunk of the Impala was always a mess. Sam found an old tuna sandwich in the back seat in one episode.
dDean needs to be stopped and not because the car needs waxing.
I don’t understand these priorities to be honest.
It’s not the coffee cup that upsets Sam — it’s Dean saying, “It’s just a car.” Because it’s never been just a car — for both Sam and Dean, it stands for home, family, their father, their childhood. When Sam was possessed by Lucifer, it wasn’t just Dean that allowed him to break free long enough to jump into the Cage… it was the Impala and all the memories it contained. Dean has always felt the same way or even stronger. He and Sam have fought before, and Dean’s said some incredibly cruel things, so it’s not that surprising that Sam would discount dDean’s attitude towards him. But for Dean to neglect the Impala — that’s an indicator that has never, ever happened before.
I’m really hoping to see Sam get some more lines in upcoming episodes. It feel like lately a lot of his interactions boil down to a few words and non-verbal expression, and while Jared is very good at emoting non-verbally… I would really, really like to get to see him stretch his verbal acting chops, too.
