How Did I Miss This?????
So, yesterday I’m doing the usual rounds, checking out BuddyTV to see if anything is new. I click on a link for an Eric Kripke interview done by CW Connect in the videos section, thinking it was new. I soon discover the interview is from September, right around premiere time. I’m scratching my head, wondering how in the world I missed this. Then it all made sense, it was premiere week, I was blogging, actively doing my bit to promote the show, so somehow this got lost.
I settled in to hear the wise yet probably dated answers from the master himself, and around the 58 second mark my jaw hit the floor. The question, “Which role do you prefer, Executive Producer, Director, Writer or Show Runner? Are there some days you wish you were one over the other?” Great question I thought. Then I saw the screen name of the person asking the question. Jesterznet. That’s me!!! I don’t exactly remember when I typed that question on a thread somewhere on the CW boards, but it was so long ago I forgot about it. That thread has hundreds of questions on it, and there were 4 answered in this clip (which is part 2). Mine was one of them???
Wow, wow, wow. Eric Kripke, my dream interview, actually answered a question I’d been dying to ask him since I started blogging for this show. The answer is awesome too. Check it out! He likes Director best. I so love this show.

Bet that was a nice surprise! Great questions too. The water thing never occured to me at all … There goes my favourite potential Monster-of-the-Week ( Zombie alligators … it would have been so good, and lots of boys-in-wet-shirts fantasy drooling moment possibilities too ) Oh Well,:
The come back-and-die thing is a bit worrying, Let’s hope Bobby stays in Venezuala! All that stuff on the boards about beloved characters getting the chop is making me nervous …
Congratulations Alice! Maybe one day you will be able to do an interview with the man – the kripmaster himself!
Congratulations on Kripke answering your question Alice and hello! I’m new here and oh boy are you’re a god send,in my Supernatural obsessed life!! You write beautifully and I absolutely loved the first part of your interview with Sera Gamble, such original and in depth questions resulting in the same from Sera with her answers. Wow! Such a pleasant change from the same old ,same old, when it comes to interviews!
I think what I found most comforting with discovering your writings is the fair mindedness you have when it comes to both characters and both actors.
Even with my soft spot for Sam’s character (reminds me of Dr. Daniel Jackson-Stargate SG-1) I absolutely adore both brothers ,each of them courageous caring and wonderful in their own way
But I can no longer visit any forum, haven’t since the middle of the 3rd season, can’t take the meanness, some quite hateful, the majority of it directed at the character of Sam. Makes me doubly sad having been to two conventions and observing and seeing firsthand that Jared is everything sweet and kind ever written about him
I get that a person can prefer one brother over the other. But why attack the other while doing so? I don’t get it!
Supernatural is about two brothers and the unconditional love they have for each other. How do you hate either brother when each is the other’s world?
Sadly these fans have missed the whole point of the show
As for Loretta Divine ,returning as Missouri Kripke may find she has the time now sinceABC abruptly canceled the wonderful show “Eli Stone in which she was a cast member of.
Ironic since “Eli Stone” was a show that dealed with the Supernatural ,tackled the subject of doing the lord’s work,we even got to see God in the form of Sigourney Weaver (which they pulled off wonderfully) and the show involved the close relationship of two brothers.
It was a great show that had the rug yanked out from under it in the middle of the second season. The ultimate insult was being replaced with a reality show! Good Grief!
Thank you for the warm welcome Alice! I look forward to your analysis of Sam’s character developement. I adore him and from season one felt his strongest character traits could be seen more by his actions, then by words. The way he uses his body with outstretched arms to shield the people he and Dean are helping from harm or death. His reverence for life and strong sense of right and wrong. The gentle and caring manner he has with people. Sam’s good heart and inner strength are clearly present, with everything he’s been through and lost, the disappointments and now doubting the faith he’s clung to in hopes of being saved,Sam is still trying his hardest to do the right thing.
