Supernatural Wins…Something at The 2014 People’s Choice Awards
It’s time to be upbeat and positive, and for us to remember that a few years ago, “Supernatural” wasn’t even on The People’s Choice Awards’ radar. So when the show is recognized in any category, it’s something! When it wins, it’s even more something.
Congratulations “Supernatural” for taking the following category in tonight’s PCA awards:
Favorite TV Bromance – Sam, Dean, and Castiel.
For those that are having issues right now with “Beauty and the Beast” beating “Supernatural” for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show, one has to remember that fandom is facing the imminent cancellation of their show due to extremely (and I mean extremely) low ratings. It was their chance to send a message and let their show go out with a bang. Sadly, a People’s Choice Award isn’t going to save a show from cancellation, so please take a moment to sympathize with those fans and let them enjoy this victory in fandom solidarity before they have to say goodbye to their show.
As for both Jared and Jensen losing in the Sci-fi/Fantasy TV actor category, might I say that the only way to avoid nastiness in a divided fandom is to have either both lose or both win. Since the latter is a virtual impossibility, just offer Ian Somerhalder your congratulations and be glad that a very ugly mess has been avoided.
Just remember “Supernatural” fans, we always have last year. And we always have next year too.
Congratulations “Supernatural” on your one win. It’s far better than a shut out.

It’s sad that the negative Nancies will use the loss in the Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show category as an indictment of the cast, crew and season – even though things couldn’t be better for the show.

Its better to be thankful for what we do have. We have a cast & crew that work their butts off to give us a show every week. An award doesn’t make a show. Hard working people do.

I’m totally fine with them winning that category … didn’t like pitting Jared against Jensen and this way whether you’re a Sam, Dean or Cas girl (or boy) or whatever you happen to ship (or not) all three were recognized together. BaTB fans can have their happy moment because SPN has a much better chance of getting picked up for next season and that’s more important to me!

I think this is the best outcome there could have been with the exception of winning the Fantasy TV Show award. The fandom was very split on how to vote for the boys and there was no chance that it was going to end well so this was the best way. I am thrilled that the Team Free Will won because it includes Misha and how deserving is that? It is a win for all, fandom, the boys, and the show so we should all be very happy and congratulate them for a job well done instead of embarrassing the win by bickering. 🙂
I for one do watch B&TB because I love Kristen Kreug from her Smallville days so I’m ok they won but still would have preferred Supernatural to take that one.
Either way, let’s all hope that there is another opportunity for us to unite next year and get them the win that we all want them to get and feel they deserve to get.

I am very happy for this win. It would have been difficult for everyone (including Jensen & Jared) had one or the other won. So, congratulation to everyone on SPN, you are all winners in my eyes. 🙂

I didn’t vote because after the PCA’s snubbing SN in the past, I won’t even visit their website. However, I thought it was interesting that they didn’t put SN up against a show like ‘Good Wife’ that the PCA’s obviously want to win. I think they were embarrassed by that the last time and there was no way they were going to shoot themselves in the foot like that again. I’m much more interested in the show continuing on than any award……although, as a die hard fan, it does hurt sometimes that the boys don’t get more recognition for the great work they do.

I am thrilled for this news and in a feel-good category! Who doesn’t love bromance?

I look at who we beat for the bromance award and am very proud of what we accomplished. Next year we will redeem our Scifi/Fantasy TV show.

Not only did they win last year (by the way what happened to best fandom?) they won very big the year before. Hopefully next year, if it is their last the fans can give them another big win. I’ve said it before and I will say it again the only way for the guys to get an acting award is if every fan votes for both. But I agree it will never happen. They were nominated in 3 categories and won against much higher rated non SP fantasy shows. So I am a happy fan.

Congrats to Beauty and the Beast. If a People’s Choice Award will give their fandom even a glimmer of a hope of saving their series, then more power to them. We can feel secure that our show is safe for a while longer. Let them have their day.
Ian S. yummmm! I do love me some J & J, but I damn sure wouldn’t kick Ian out for eating crackers in bed. I’m in lust, so sue me. Besides, I don’t even want to think of the flame wars that Jared or Jensen winning would set off. I really think it is better this way.
Best Bromance, considering the competition, is nothing to scoff at. Our guys beat Big Bang and How I Met your Mother and that is no small feat. Best of all, it gives props to all of our good guys Jared, Jensen, and Misha
Next year, let’s see if we can get Mark Sheppard’s Crowley in the running for best best anti-hero. A British accent will get me every time and Crowley is so deliciously wicked.
Let’s all be good sports and congratulate the winners.

Oh, dear. Beauty and the Male Model fans will have yet another excuse why their 0.3 rated, critically laughed at (only on the CW would “the beast” be a pretty boy with a pimple) show will be renewed. I”m a Sam fan, but what little voting I did (I’m a professional; I have to work), I voted for both actors. I didn’t vote for “bromance” because the dreadful angel was in the picture. I’ve never seen a “Dean hate” cite. Please send me to one, not because i hate the character (I love him), but because I’ve never seen one. To the contrary, I’ve seen plenty of “Sam hate” cites: IMbD, Ins. Press. I’m not talking cites where the character is occasionally bashed; I’m talking hate. i went to the latter cite as a Sam fan and was attacked like raw meat at the zoo.

I don’t like choosing either Jensen or Jared. I will choose both but since both can’t win at the same time, It’s better this way.
I can understand if Jared and Jensen can’t win because the fans are divided and they can’t accumulate enough numbers to win. The bromance category include the three of them so ALL of FANS can vote together for one category. It’s no surprise that they win it.

I figured J2 would cancel each other out as the lines are pretty well split, Let’s just say that at least the 3 characters’ interplay was rewarded. The most surprising PCA was favorite fantasy.scifi to B/B. I could accept another show winning besides SPN( not agree but ok) so I am a bit cynical of the entire process for the following reasons:
1. Nobody from Supernatural attended- did they know ahead of time that they had not won? Si why interrupt shooting schedule.
2. There were no promos for SPN like last year with teases about pants dropping, to encourage voting- was it deliberate so other CW shows would have a chance? What’s with the CW anyone in promos for SPN?
3.Ratings of B/B are so low that CW somehow maneuvered the voting? How did they vote if few are watching?
The awards were already inscribed when handed out so the knowledge was out there before airing.
The sci/fi category as well as other awards were not aired. Has the category been swept under the table?
Maybe I missed something. It just seemed that the whole show was not entertaining or interesting. So let’s just glory in not being sjut out and move on to Tuesday’s return
