Someday Iβll wish upon a star and
Wake up with the drama far behind me.
Where Winchesters fight the Wicked Witch
And Dean screams out SON OF A BITCH
That’s whereβ¦ you’llβ¦ findβ¦ me.
You’re singing, right?
Yep, weβre off to see the Wizard! Well I donβt know about that actually, but I do know weβre about to meet Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the West! A-ha. Supernatural!
Here’s the synopsis.
“Slumber Party”
FELICIA DAY RETURNS AS CHARLIE/SAM, DEAN AND CHARLIE MEET DOROTHY FROM OZ β Sam and Dean discover that the table in the Men of Letters house (the one that lit up like a Christmas Tree when the angels fell), has an ancient computer attached to it. They figure if they can get the computer on, they can track the angels. Who better to call for help than the best IT girl there is, Charlie? While moving the massive computer, they dislodge a hidden hexbag that unleashes a magical green-webbed wall. Sam and Dean break through it and discover the one and only Dorothy (guest star Tiio Horn) from Oz. She had trapped herself and the wicked witch (guest star Maya Massar) in the web years ago to stop the witch from finding the key that would open the gate that connected their world with Oz. With the wall broken, a massive and magical fight ensues that threatens to destroy the Men of Letters house. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Robbie Thompson (#904).
OH.MY.GOD. Did you hear me squeeing?
Confession time. I donβt really like the movie, The Wizard of Oz. Yeah I know, first Iβd never seen Itβs A Wonderful Life, now I donβt like The Wizard of Oz.Β Ah, what can I say. I have seen the movie many times though, itβs hard to avoid really, plus I had to make a promo for it recentlyβ¦to dance musicβ¦but thatβs another story. So when I first heard about this episode I thought, um really? (I thought that about The French Mistake too by the way and look how that turned out!) Then I found out who was writing it and I suddenly felt better. Then I saw the clips and I suddenly felt a whole lot better. Supernatural can pull off these whacked out episodes like no other show on TV. I’m officially excited.
Hereβs what Iβm excited about. Charlieβ¦I kind of love her. More of the Men of Letters bunkerβ¦I kind of love it. A Robbie Thompson scriptβ¦I kind of love him. A wee break from the heavy feelsβ¦I kind of need it!
I’m rubbing my hands together will glee right now, so letβs look at the promo.
Β
Doesn’t it look like fun? Even the promo is fun. Flying monkeys! They creep me the hell out.
I canβt wait to see the guyβs faces when they find Dorothy and the witch trapped in the bunker and discover that Oz is part of the faerie realm. What a strange life the Winchesters lead (d’uh, Amy) and, err, I donβt think the Wicked Witch of the West and Crowley should be allowed to hang out! βLove your work.β Ruh-roh!
Okay, the sneak peek, which Iβve only watched about 20 times.
Bahahaha! *seal claps* I am in love with this sneak peek.
I love that the books keep coming up and that the guys keep getting more and more awkward about them. Now we know for a fact that Becky published Chuckβs unpublished works and that sheβs using her married name! Ha! Samβs face! And the books are on Amazon! Ooops! Deanβs face! And Charlie reads fanfiction. OMG. She’s reading fan fiction based on characters in books that people think are fiction but happen to be real people that are actually her friends. What? What other show can balance this kind of thing so well?
The guys talked about this episode during the recent bloggers tour. Hereβs one of the interviews β itβs not really spoilery, it doesnβt tell us anything that we havenβt seen in the most recent episode and it doesnβt have anything much more about this episode than is in the synopsis. The “Slumber Party” talk kicks off at about 2.25 and itβs totally worth it for Jensenβs reaction!
Iβm guessing from what Jared says, this week weβre going to enjoy some time with Sam being Sam. Maybe Ezekiel is going to stay put on the inside. I hope so. Iβd like some brother interaction without blue eyes suddenly glowing all smitey out of Samβs head (as disturbingly cool and pretty as that is.) Iβm also interested to hear what feels Sam shares with Dorothy that he doesn’t feel comfortable sharing with Dean and what he might say about where he’s at after all the trials stuff. Though I wish the brothers would bloody well talk to each other. They are shockers with the not talking. Though I get it, with the close proximity in which they live there would be things that they’d rather keep close to the chest for fear of hurting or worrying the other or whatever. I do understand why they don’t share everything, but I wish they would, I mean, I am a fangirl after all. I need the broments!
Also, do you think they’ll keep all the MoL’s cars? Maybe they should sell them. I’m sure they could do with the cash!
Itβs always kind of nice to get a break from the mythology here and there and the last 3 episodes have definitely been very heavy, with big set-ups and a lot of passionate, heated discussion.
Time for some fun. I think we freakinβ deserve it don’t you? Chasing the Wicked Witch of the West around the bunker while she yells at the boys, “I’ll get you my pretties!” (She’s got to, right?) Well that sounds like good times to me.
And what if Dorothy says, “I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore…” Err. Yeah you are! Hee!
Are you guys looking forward to this one? Let me know in the comments. Don’t forget, there’s more pics from this episode on our spoiler page.
Now click those ruby slippers together and repeat after meβ¦Β Thereβs no place like Supernatural. Thereβs no place like Supernatural. Thereβs no place like Supernatural.

Edit:
Jared just tweeted a teaser of the opening titles. I love it when they do stuff like this.
Click here to watchΒ Β (it’s yfrog – we really need to talk to him about this.)
If you can’t read the text on the title plate, it says:
This is for the SPNFamily whose dedication and love drive us to continue creating this wonderful world. Keeping up the Family Business.
Nawww. They still love us, even after everything.
Edit Edit:
CHCH promo!
Looks like we’ll get some glowy smitey eyes after all. Nuts. Though yay. Though nuts. Though yay. This storyline…honestly! It has me going around in circular circles. Maybe Mr smitey eyes will be right off the top or something because… Β Honesty moment…I don’t want Zeke to keep popping in and saving the day, our boys are quite capable of saving their own pretty hides…mostly…except those times when they don’t and die and stuff.
Okay my pretties. Have fun in this wonderful world of Oz call Supernatural……
Because, because, because, because, because
Because of the wonderful things it does.
We’re off to see the Winchesters
The Wonderful Wiinchesters of Oz!
Enjoy the epi!

I’m looking forward to this, but I’m going out tomorrow. I’ll catch it on DVR when I get home. It does sound like fun.
Amy not only have I never watched It’s a Wonderful Life, but I have never liked Wizard of Oz either. Especially the flying monkeys! I didn’t watch it again until I was long into adulthood after my first watching as a child totally freaked me out. I hated those monkeys. Pretty sure I’ve nightmares about them for YEARS. HA. I’m with you and Dean for sure on that one.
Cars and Witches and Sam!(PO)view oh my!
And Dean and Charlie and Dorothy … too many things to fit all in the one misquote … but I think they are all going add together for some fun π
I love Jensens’s reaction in that clip, it is a strange job they all have…
While I agree with everyone who found the Wizard of Oz weird and creepy when they were kids, (same with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory *shudder*) I think this episode looks like it is going to be fun, funny and interesting. Looking forward to it!
And, you know, flying monkeys …
(I have an idea that the episode is going to start with Sam saying ” … and he just left? And you let him? It isn’t safe! we need to get after him”. I haven’t the smallest idea how Dean is going to explain it though. I hope they do better than that but that is my thinks on it π )
Why isn’t Kevin in this episode? He is still in the bunker.

I’m with you winmomwannabe! I was scarred by those damn monkeys! I still think they are horrible! That was a scary movie. They played it once at my school and all the kids were totally freaked! But somehow, I have a feeling I’m going to love these flying monkeys and all they bring with them.

Yes, eilf…this is going to be interesting. I have a feeling it’s going to start something like that too. That can be Dean’s only line, that Cass thought it was too dangerous for him to stay there…or something like that. I have a feeling, though, when the witch breaks loose other things will occupy their minds. Like… What? Oz? HUH? π
And Kevin is in his room playing video games with his noise cancelling headphones on! π

LOL I could see that!, or how about this?:
Sam: Where’s Kevin?
Dean: Gone into town to get me some pie
Sam: Dude I GOT you pie this morning
Dean:Sam, carrot cake is NOT pie, it isn’t even cake!
Actually if Kevin never knew that Castiel was there then Dean can sort out the problem of what Sam knows pretty easily (ooohhhh) …
On second thoughts, I think the time is approaching where Zeke starts to make these decisions for himself I wonder how far away Dean getting angry with him is?
Not very spoilery but here is the title card for tomorrow’s episode http://www.spoilertv.com/2013/10/supernatural-episode-904-slumber-party_28.html

Thanks percy, I’d popped it in the piece off Jared’s tweet. Bless their little message! π

Dean actually got some pie (made with blah blah blah.) I hope he ate it. Though I have a feeling it got dumped in the alley where they caught the Reaper!
And no…carrot cake is not cake, neither is zucchini cake for that matter.

Yeah I would say that that pie is definitely in the category of pie Dean got, but did not get to eat ….
Episodes like this always make me a bit nervous. Has the show gone too far into the land of “wha?!?!??” this time? I always think that, and then I am always wonderfully surprised at how they manage to pull it off (most of the time anyway!) The fact that it’s a Robbie Thompson script puts my mind at ease; his scripts are usually character based and he really ‘gets’ the boys and manages to keep things pretty grounded despite all the crazyβ¦. and this episode certainly sounds crazy!
I have not read anything and just seen the first two videos to be as spoilerfree as possible but enough to have a preview and I like what I see. I think (and hope) it will be a fun ride.Happy watching.
this looks like a fun one and a nice break after the first 3 episodes of S9 – looking forward to it. And those flying monkeys used to creep me out as a kid, too.
I can’t wait for this episode! I love “The Wizard of Oz” and the wicked witch was always my favourite. I’ll get you my pretties indeed! Lucky witch. π³
CHCH promo up http://www.spoilertv.com/2013/10/supernatural-episode-904-slumber-party_29.html
Amy I am equally excited for tonight’s episode. I did watch It’s a Wonderful Life a long time ago but not one of my favorites and likewise with the Wizard of Oz. I never liked those flying monkeys either.
You made a comment about hopefully getting more Sam being Sam (my wish also) but I did see in the quick CHCH promo there is a shot of Sam with the blue eyes so it looks like we might be getting a little Ezekiel tonight but I don’t think it will be much since they will be busy with the whole Oz theme thing.
I plan on joining in on the tweeting tonight also. Looks like Felicity will also be joining Jared and Robbie Thompson. Looking forward to reading some reviews from everyone on here tomorrow.
