CW Schedule Change: Supernatural Repeats To Air on CW Fridays in May
Here’s a pleasant surprise from The CW. They announced a revised schedule today in which “Supernatural” episodes aired prior on Wednesday in May will be repeated at Friday at 9 pm in replacement of “Oh Sit!” repeats. You think The CW is so excited about these three closing episodes that they deserve two viewings? “Supernatural” repeats often beat original airings of some CW shows.Â

Trying to boost those sweeps numbers before the upfronts?
I think they’re trying to give Nikita a boost. Supernatural does repeat well!
Hi Alice. I think this is great news, but, the writer over at Buddy TV thinks this means that the CW is planning to move Supernatural back to Friday nights. You are wise in the ways of TV scheduling, what do you think? 🙂
Warning, you asked! 🙂
Yeah, that’s a classic case of some blogger stirring up crap to get hits on his site. It’s completely ludicrious! Even people going to his site to tell him it’s ludicrious are wrong because his purpose is served. This is why I hate blogging sometimes.
He was just speculating that maybe they are and gave his position why he thinks they should. We keep a ratings chart here. It’s obvious ratings are up significantly from last season when the show was on Fridays. You don’t move a show that has that big an increase to Fridays! Especially on a network that has so few success stories. Dawn Ostroff may have done such stupid things in the past, but Mark Pedowitz knows better. Supernatural is even on some weeks matching the Vampire Diaries in live ratings (although TVD does awesome online and with DVR).
I tried to rant about this on twitter last night, but big mistake. It took multiple tweets and some people chose to only read certain ones, thinking I was saying the show was moving to Fridays, or better yet, trying to tell me what I already put in this article earlier in the day. Online fandom drives me completely nuts at times.
Anyway, here’s the link to our ratings chart for all seasons for anyone that has any doubt that it’s not staying on Wednesdays with Arrow.

Alice your twitter rant last night was brilliant! And it made perfect sense if people took two seconds to realise that there has to be more than one tweet!
I think it would be a mistake to put SPN back in the graveyard shift – I don’t know much about scheduling but it seems to me that pairing a new show by putting it in the Arrow slot and feeding into SPN (I get to see the last few minutes of Arrow each week, if it were my sort of show I would probably sit down earlier to give it a go once in a while). Move Arrow to another day if you want to shore up a new series and have a new show after it!
