Press Release – Official description episode 8.22 “Clip Show”
Here’s more on the episode we’ve been hearing a bit about of late… The penultimate episode of the season (who says penultimate).
8.22 “Clip Show”
FAMILIAR FACES RETURN AS THE THIRD TRIAL NEARS — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) reunite with Castiel (Misha Collins). Digging through the Men of Letters’ files, they stumble upon an undiscovered film which could be the key to the third trial. Metatron (guest star Curtis Armstrong) enlists Cass to mull over problems at home. Meanwhile, Crowley (guest star Mark Sheppard) digs into Sam and Dean’s past. Taylor Cole, Graham Wardle, and Cindy Busby also guest star. Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb (#822).
And just so you don’t have to look these guest stars up, this is who they were in previous episodes.
Taylor Cole is Sarah Blake from 1.19 “Provenance†– the antique dealer’s daughter and Sam’s potential beau.
Graham Wardle is Tommy Collins from 1.02 “Wendigo†– the lad the brothers went in to save.
Cindy Busby is Jenny Klein from 7.05 “Shut Up, Dr. Phil†– Don Stark’s assistant, the one with beating hearts in her cupcakes!
Of course Curtis Armstrong was Booger in the Revenge of the Nerds movies, or as I like to think of him…Miles, in Risky Business who gave Tom Cruises’ character that sage advice, “Sometimes you’ve just gotta to say, what the f**k”.

Sounds intriguing! Can’t wait!
I’m really, really excited about this. That is all.
That’s half the fun of it … or maybe fun’s not the right word, but if we knew where it was headed that would mean the writers aren’t doing a very good job at making the show interesting. But I’m a little nervous as to how it will end as well. I know Sam, Dean and Cas will be on it next season so that’s good, just have a feeling one or two of them may find themselves someplace they’d rather not be!
Curtis Amstrong is so against type as an angel. It sounds like Metatron picked an unassuming vessel. Brilliant idea, hope the writers do well with it. Intriguing idea to bring back these foks and perhaps use them against Sam or to demonstrate how the trials have taken their toll on Sam. Let’s hope we all gasp for good reasons with the last few episodes. Jared’s tweet about how he had to get emotional with “the Funeral” by Brian Buckley Band makes me think I need to buy some tissue for the end of season 8 for all the right reasons.
To be honest the closer it’s getting I’m getting a lot more antsy and scared! BTW I did the same exact thing last summer and got to the end of season 7 a week before the season premier so this will be the longest summer!
