I'm a little torn over showing this considering I don't like to focus too much on private matters of the "Supernatural" actors, but this wasn't a Gossip site making light of this news. It's the LA Times.
Jensen Ackles is putting his Brentwood home up for sale. It's actually getting a large profile in the Real Estate section of the Los Angeles times, and they have pictures! My, my, what a gorgeous place. Jensen bought the home in 2009 for $2.435 million and is now listing it for $3.495 million.
The entertainment area in the backyard alone has me running the numbers (yeah right!), but in the meantime, it makes sense that such a beautiful man should have such a beautiful place. Major kudos to his designer.
Try not to drool on the keyboard folks!

I have to confess to being sadly addicted to the property section of The LA Times as it’s kind of fun to check out houses I can’t afford (and the furniture I can’t afford).
The one thing I’ve noticed -the houses all look the same, inside and out. They don’t seem that distinctive in terms of personal style – it’s like there’s one designer doing the rounds of LA. They’re all artfully styled, with beautiful appliances and furniture and it’s like the houses are never lived in… Either that or everyone is super tidy and never leave their books, pens, bits of paper lying around (unlike the rest of humanity). I also think the housekeepers must be awesome.
There are actual house decorators that come in and set up a home for a photo shoot for selling them. Average folks can get them for their homes too, but definitely they would have them for celebrity homes. They would never allow them to look lived in when they take photos for sale.
The Brentwood district is an absolutely gorgeous area towards the west side of Los Angeles. The homes aren’t too obnoxiously large and its really close to one of my favorite areas, Santa Monica. I was once lucky enough to visit and spend an afternoon with the LA fire department at Station 19, which sits in Brentwood, and I got to see many of the beautiful streets and neighborhoods. Although the previous comment is correct – so many of the homes do look an awful lot alike. I’d love to know which Brentwood neighborhood the house sits in, but I also don’t want to invade Jensen’s privacy any more than it has been. I’m always curious to find out why a seller is listing their home, especially such a beautiful home. When the time comes to leave my little farm town in Ohio, West LA is one of my choices to relocate.
O-o-o-oh! This was [i][b]FUN[/b][/i]! While I agree that it is important to allow celebrities privacy for their family lives, it was just such a kick to be able to actually
“visualize” Jensen hanging out in his down time in these rooms. I loved how functional, clean and uncluttered all of the rooms were. And wasn’t it fun visualizing people and dogs milling around out by the pool for a barbecue?
Being a normal middle class nobody, $3.495 million dollars seems like an incredible price for a house – until I factored in the location. My son moved out to the L.A. area for a couple of years and I was astounded to discover how expensive housing is in that area. “Normal” 2 or 3 bedroom homes that would sell for $185,000 in Michigan went for more than a million near L.A.
All things considered, Jensen’s home is not [i]as[/i] lavish as I actually might have thought he might own. Not to say it isn’t lovely – and it goes to say far over my own standard – but just consider what it might be if SPN was aired on a major network, instead of The CW!
Loved the pics. What struck me is how lovely it is without being over the top. Speaks volumes about Jensen’s down to earth ‘real’ guy persona. I’m sure he can afford something much more lavish and deserves it.

A beautiful home indeed. I’m drooling over the kitchen. Oh, the pies you could make there!! And the pool. Just one swim… All I want is one swim!

I guess in LA $3.4-million isn’t really that much. There are lots of houses in Vancouver & Toronto that are well into the million-dollar range. (If I lived in a different city, I probably wouldn’t be able to afford the old “character” house I live in!)
As they say, in real estate, it’s all about Location, Location, Location!
I felt a bit like I was a invading privacy looking at the pics, but it is a lovely home.

sad to see jensen has a fur rug..not sure what animal was killed for it but have to say since he and jared did a peta advert you’d think having a dead animal on yer floor would be a no no…bury it jensen let it rest in peace..

@Diane Purcell–I believe that PETA ad is a manip (manipulation). There’s another ad of Jensen for PETA, (the one of him in chains) which I’m 100% positive he would never do. They’re all fake.
Is there a for sure number for the J’s salaries, i’m not really into celebs private lives but i saw an article that was published breaking down what the top tv celebs get eg Ashton Kutcher, Charlier Cheen, Patrick Dempsey on Greys etc then what guest stars earn, & what extras, bit parts etc Then it said and i don’t know if it was an estimate or if it was up to date that Jared earnt somewhere in the realm of 125,000 per ep roughly $2.7 mil per season. I know that a few years back that Jensen & Jared said they both agreed for keeping the peace & being fair not arguing over numbers that they’d negotiate the same salary reguardless of story/ screentime as it would be better for everyone so i’m assuming they have the same but i don’t even know if the number for Jared is right. I was just wondering Alice, whether you knew if i was on the right track with that figure or if you knew what jensen earnt?
