This Week in Supernatural History: Weeks 19 and 20
2006:
Portraits of evil
2007:
Winchesters in Chains
2008:
(writer’s strike = short season)
2009:
Little Brother and Family Secrets
2010:
Gods and Angels and Porn Stars
2011:
The Many Faces of Eve
That portrait in Provenance always literally gives me the chills!
OMG! That Jared face, all shaggy and sad! 😀
I miss the trickster.
Thanks for these, and good luck with exam season. Been there, done that. All college students are in strike mode where I am against an increase in tuition fees, so they won’t have to worry about that, just losing their whole semester! No big.
Love all of these, especially Provenance. Loved Sarah and wiseass snarky Dean in the posh Art Gallery. And that portrait and the little girl creeped me right out!
Yikes! JARED? 😮
I miss the Trickster terribly, too. I hope they can bring him back somehow sometime. 🙁
Provence: This is how standalones should be done. Creepy kids, slashy blades. Pure simplicity. You don’t need the big Leviathan teeth, you just need to give a psychotic kid a straight razor and instant classic.
Folsom Prison Blues: Love it. They should totally go to Yemen for a bit, heh, heh. And strangely enough, that orange colour of their prison uniforms? Totally in this season.
Jump the Shark: I know many people dislike Adam but my heart breaks for the guy. Actually, my heart broke for this entire episode (stupid bloody early season episodes, how dare they make me all sad and pangy like that)
Hammer of the Gods: Wet Winchesters (there’s good in every episode!) And the Lucifer Gabriel scenes were great. You got an honourable death, Gabriel.
Mommy Dearest: Didn’t rock my socks but t’was grand. Jeez, Eve went out fair easy though, didn’t she? And Castiel was a very, very naughty little boy….
Dead Man’s Blood: Hey John…. (Sorry, had a moment.) Rest of the episode doesn’t really matter, does it??
What is and What Should Never Be: I almost feel guilty for saying it but, it didn’t do much for me, I don’t know why. It just seemed uberly manipulative or something. Maybe it needs a rewatch (though maybe Dean needs a rewatch, might help him to remember why he’s hunting. All those people you guys saved, remember??)
The Rapture: There was a whole lot of good going on in this one! There seemed to be so many ‘Whoa!’ moments in the earlier seasons.
The Devil You Know: That line… (And thanks for quoting it). That needs to be a tee-shirt, or maybe a hat. Love that final scene.
The Man Who Would be King: An episode where we ended up asking more questions (and are still unsure about them) than we got answered. I’m still not convinced Castiel didn’t bring Sam back soulless on purpose. It was just way too convenient for him the way things worked out. I’m such a cynic!
Thanks for this, Elle. Good luck with your exams. And your house move. (Jeez, you don’t do things by halves, do you!) Hope you at least get to see the episodes.
