Fan Video of the Week: Supernatural Reflections “We Happy Few”

In this last penultimate episode, many felt that all was lost, that many things had been ruined for them for different reasons.

I wish I could make them feel better simply by sharing how I see the show but it is not that simple. People look at things differently and my words are not enough in those parts they hold dear. From my side, I have faith things will be well and I eagerly wait for the stories that are yet to be told. The stories and the imagination behind them mean the most to me. Even though I am more of a Dean girl, I do hold the flag also for Sam, Castiel, Crowley and even those characters who do not make a good impression on me. I give them a chance to grow on me – but this is not an easy task because if people treat the characters or actors badly I feel I need to defend them. In the fandom, this very easily leads to conflicts.

I wrote before that Don’t Call Me Shurley felt more like the real season finale for me. Jensen and Jared had also said that. There was turmoil and trouble behind the scenes and the three final episodes could have been better without that drama. I agree also that some things during the past year could have been better. I still have hope, though, because of the friendship between the cast and the crew. That gets me over the misshaps that happen. If you look at the premise of “We Happy Few” to be like an “Ocean’s Eleven” teamup, I can see the alliance as a great idea. A team of special and contradictory individuals fighting against a common enemy. It would have just needed more episodes to be presented. The fan video I selected is pretty great and presents the sense of “Ocean’s Eleven” well.

30 Seconds To Mars, (commonly stylized as 30 Seconds to Mars) is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1998. The band consists of Jared Leto (lead vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards), Shannon Leto (drums, percussion) and Tomo Miličević (lead guitar, bass, violin, keyboards, other instruments).

The band’s debut album, 30 Seconds to Mars (2002), was produced by Bob Ezrin and released to positive reviews but only to limited commercial success. The band achieved worldwide fame with the release of their second album A Beautiful Lie (2005), which received multiple certifications all over the world, including platinum in the United States. Their next release, This Is War (2009), showed a dramatic evolution in the band’s musical style, as they incorporated experimental music as well as eclectic influences. The recording process of the album was marked by a legal dispute with record label EMI that eventually became the subject of the documentary film Artifact (2012). Thirty Seconds to Mars then moved to Universal Music and released the fourth album, Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams (2013), to critical and commercial success. As of September 2014, the band has sold over 15 million albums worldwide.

Thirty Seconds to Mars has consistently enjoyed sold out tours and numerous headlining festival slots. The band is noted for its energetic live performances and for fusing many music genres. They have been compared to the sounds of bands such as Pink Floyd, The Cure, Tool, and U2, for their philosophical and spiritual lyrics, concept albums and their use of experimental music. Thirty Seconds to Mars has received several awards and accolades throughout their career, including a Guinness World Record, and has been included in the Kerrang! list of best artists of the 2000s.
