Jared and Jensen will be attending this year, and they will be presenting an award. No word on what that award is yet or what time they will be on. They will be walking the red carpet before the show (with their wives), but the red carpet arrivals are not televised. The red carpet pre-show will be live streamed and will begin at 8 pm EST.
or, we’ll see if this embedding option works come red carpet time...
The awards are at 9pm on CBS. The show will not be live streamed. Supernatural is up for three awards:
- Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show
- Favorite TV Fan Following
- Favorite Dramatic TV Actor – Both Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are nominated
You know, I’m going to head something off at the pass right now, just because I have a history with this sort of thing. Chances are extremely slim that both Jared and Jensen are going home with Dramatic TV actor. Heck, it could be none of them since Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries" and Nathan Fillion of "Castle" are in the group of nominees as well. However, should one of them win, please, no campaigns about getting the other an award somehow because it isn’t fair. Both will be extremely happy for the other, and we should be too. It’s just like becoming prom queen or king in high school. Not everyone wins. Let the winner smile and wave and enjoy their moment in the spotlight.
The important thing here is Jared and Jensen finally get to be included this year. By just being there they are earning a huge amount of long overdue appreciation and recognition. "Supernatural" has never been represented at a televised award show before. It’s been eight years in the making, and this is a victory for the entire "Supernatural" family - actors, crew, producers, writers, and fans.
Okay, having said that, enjoy the show everyone, and this long awaited moment to shine. We’ll report award results as soon as they happen, plus any photos from the red carpet and award ceremony that should surface.
Absolutely agree, Alice. And thanks for the link.
In advance of the results, I want to send my congratulations to the show and to everyone involved (including the voting fans) for finally getting some long overdue recognition.
The nominations and the invitations for both Js are absolutely wonderful, so they've already won in my book. Hopefully they get some camera time, as well!
Of course, I'd love for them to win everything, but, really, any award would simply be the icing on the cake - that spells both their names, as well as the names of all the rest of the cast and crew. (That'd be a cake big enough for all of fandom to have a piece. Who's hungry? )
