ok so here’s the question…
when dean first gets the moc he’s starting to change but subtly. not so anyone really noticed anything…he just seemed to enjoy the kill a wee too much. it wasn’t until he touched the blade that the moc called for the need to kill. so the blade plus the moc together changed dean into a demon.
so I take it then…..first sam has to change dean back. then he has to get rid of the blade…send it to the deepest depths of the ocean or send it into space…so dean can’t get his hands on it…because it’s the blade and moc that alter more than dean’s personality…
so when dean is no longer in contact with the blade, does that mean his need to kill will abate? he won’t have to feed the blade right? but still, having the moc will still have dean enjoying the kill wouldn’t you say? now he won’t be alone, as sam will be on him like white on rice, much like when dean learned he might have to kill sam and then found out about the demon blood yed dripped into his mouth. on the plus side, dean won’t necessarily isolate himself because now that sam knows the deal, he won’t let that happen….but will sam have to do all the killing from now on? or will dean still be able to function at his job?
Hi Nappi815 – I was asking the same questions a few weeks ago and agree with you – while they probably won’t drop the First Blade in the ocean, Sam will need to keep it away from Dean, and they’ll also have to be careful about Dean using excessive violence or killing because he seemed to be enjoying it a bit too much, even before touching the blade for the first time. On the other hand, Cain seemed to stow his bloodlust when Collette asked him to stop so maybe part of keeping it under control is maintaining some sort of connection with a loved one. In Cain’s case, it was Collette; for Dean it would be Sam. Last year he was alienated and isolated from Sam and that seemed to exacerbate the problem. That was probably a combination of the brother’s “issues” in S9, as well as the MoC compelling Dean to isolate himself
I guess we will find out but Crowley made it sound like the Mark was the thing that needed feeding. The blade is what feeds it. So not killing was killing Dean even without the blade in his hand. Can that be reversed? I wonder if Cuthbert’s mansion has the answer.
