Samantha Smith
She looked really great and started with a favor. She was watching her friend’s kids that weekend, had us all say hi into her camera.
– She was pleased to be back in her home state and got show of hands of who was actually from New Jersey. Strangely, less than half.
– She hasn’t been working a lot, she’s still enjoying being a mom. The last thing she did was “Supernatural” this winter. She enjoyed doing that episode (Dark Side of the Moon) and likes being a scary character every once in a while. She knows that scary Mary wasn’t very popular.
– A fan answered a question she must have had at breakfast over the difference between a fruit and a vegetable.
– Having a son did that help with the flashback scenes with Dean in “Dark Side of the Moon.” She may have done it differently if she hadn’t had one.
– Is it hard when she can see Dean but has to pretend Sam is not there? “Yeah, it’s weird because he’s not small. And he’s looking at me.”
– What was it like working on Friends? What was the energy like on that set? They’re really professional, they know what they’re doing. She had a lot of great things to say about Matt LeBlanc and his work ethic. She callee Matt Perry a genius. She was intimidated and she didn’t make any friends. They were an insular group.
– She most identifies with Katy Segal’s character on “Son’s of Anarchy” because she’s a fiercely protective mother.
– Which episode was her favorite to film? She likes different parts of different things. She loved “What Is and What Should Never Be.” She liked “Dark Side of The Moon.” She liked being the mom and doing the evil stuff. “I got to creep out Jensen which was great.”
– She thinks Amy Gumenick as young Mary is awesome. There’s something in her essence that’s very similar. She thinks Amy watched episodes of her and faked it. Amy’s not like her in real life.
– What are her memories from filming “What Is and What Should Never Be?” Jensen had a hard time with it because he had to get into a different head space. It was challenging that they were her kids and they were grown. She had to change and be a real person. It was fun working with Jensen. “That poor guy had to eat so much in that episodes.”
– Is being an actor what you imagined? Is she fulfilled? She started as a model. She had no idea she’d become an actress. She fell into it. “Part of being an actor is you never grow up and get a job.” It’s fun but she isn’t sure it’s fulfilling.
– When asked about being pranked, she said no. The person asked “not even Jared farting?” and she pointed out farting for Jared was not a prank, that was just an hourly occurrence. “As I’ve said before, they know better.” She sees them do it to others like the poor camera guys though.
– Was there one scene that stood out for her? She really liked the scene in Home when Mary talks to them. It’s mysterious yet she’s loving. She only had three lines and they’re awesome.
– In filming the Pilot, she liked working with David Nutter. She was running during the audition and ran into a plant. She thinks that’s why she’s got the job. “It’s neat being part of the show without having to be there all of the time.”
– Someone asked about evil Mary in “Dark Side of the Moon.” Samantha corrected her, it wasn’t evil Mary, it was Scary Mary. She had to be not Mary. No mother thinks that. She really had to concentrate.
– What would her Heaven be? She couldn’t answer that for herself, but for Mary it would be the years leading up to the return of the demon.
– What character would she’d want to play? Lara Croft.
– What was it like working with Jeffrey Dean Morgan? He’s lovely. He’s got the best voice in Hollywood.
– What is it like knowing that your character is the reason “Supernatural” exists? It’s weirdly flattering. They’re avenging me. But it’s sad. If Mary had lived though there wouldn’t be a show. “They don’t shy away from the ugly and sad and I like that.”
– Was she surprised that Mary was a hunter? She was shocked and thought was a great turn. What did she think about Mary making the deal to save John? Admirable. She gets it. “If Mary had known it would have involved her children she wouldn’t have done it.”
– This is my favorite question and answer. A concerned fan wanted her thoughts on the reveal in “Dark Side of The Moon,” over John and Mary fighting. Was she surprised that John and Mary didn’t have the perfect relationship? She explained that anyone who’s ever been married knows these things happen. People fight, people get mad, sometimes space is needed. “Love and hate run along the same lines.” She thought Mary was a strong woman and could handle those problems well. The fan asking the question was very relieved to hear that.
– Does she think Mary should have told John that she was a hunter? She isn’t sure. It’s a lie by omission. She loved him and wanted to protect him so that was okay.
– Is she a believer? Has weird things happened to her on the set? Not on the set. She has a ghost in her house though. She swears she saw a depression era guy in her house. She told her husband and he said, “Oh, you see him too?” Her neighbor says her daughter has seen him too. She doesn’t see him anymore. The flu in the chimney keeps blowing smoke inside and they’ve had it inspected many times. The last time the guy noticed there was weird fog in the chimney. She told him she knows what that is.
I swear, you chicks are so shallow. 😎
Hopefully we’ll get a Mary cameo (flashback, more likely) in season six.
So, is everyone hungry? How about burgers! I still think Misha, more than any human I can think of, needs his own TV show. Moral of the story, stick to porn, don’t do movies about Canadian serial killers.
Hi Alice
Thanks for the transcripts. Looks like you had a good time.
I hope they can bring Samantha(Mary) and Rob(Chuck) back for at least one episode each.
Thanks for the transcripts, Alice. Sounds like a good day of panels.
It is an amazing answer for me and help me so much. I’d like to be the practitioner of this blog and as a honest fan about it. Welcome to share and reprint.
