The Winchester Family Business Mentioned in The Latest Supernatural Magazine
Imagine my thrill over finding my name and website mentioned in the latest issue of Supernatural magazine while leafing through it at Barnes and Noble.
The story is kind of funny. I was tipped off about the mention from elle2, but I didn’t have many details like what page or article. There was no time to track down where Supernatural magazine could be purchased though, for I was getting ready for my three day vacation to Washington DC to meet Jasminka and take in the cherry blossoms. After having a nice dinner on the patio, we spotted the Barnes and Noble across the street and decided to browse. Upon surfing the Entertainment Magazine section, there was Titan Publishing’s latest issues of Smallville and Supernatural.
I found our mention on Page 6, or the first article. It is about the 100th episode and they used Sera Gamble’s quote about the 100th episode in my interview with her. So the lesson learned here is if you’re going to be the administrator for a growing fan site and want to stay on top of things, at least have a subscription to the largest fan magazine for the show.
Actually, this is a really good issue. It talks about the 100th episode and has interviews with Jensen Ackles, Steven Williams (Rufus), Richard Speight Jr. (The Trickster/Gabriel), Mark Sheppard (Crowley), and Rob Benedict (Chuck). There’s behind the scenes info with the Toby Lindala (Special Effects – Makeup), Jim Michaels (Production), Lou Bollo (Stunts), Ivan Hayden (VFX) and the Road Crew that looks after the Impalas and other cars. There’s also pinups of the boys for you mega fan girls.
The March/April issue can be found at Barnes and Noble stores or you can subscribe to the magazine at www.titanmagazines.com (US) or www.titanmagazines.co.uk (UK). I highly recommend it!
One other thing, Jasminka found the lastest issue of SFX magazine. Jared and Jensen were on the cover! So, if you’re at Barnes and Noble, SFX can be found there too. I haven’t had a chance to check out the issue, but any profile of our show (and its fine actors) must be good.
Alice Jester is the founder, editor-in-chief, head writer, programmer, web designer, site administrator, marketer, and moderator for The Winchester Family Business. She is a 30 year IT applications and database expert with a penchant for creative and freelance writing in her spare (ha!!) time. You should ask for royalties. 😀
Congrats, Alice! Isn’t fame wonderful? May I please have your autograph?
😀
I have the issue and never noticed. CONGRATS
Alice, that’s awesome! Congratulations! That must have been a real thrill, to see the site name in print like that.
This is awesome Alice. If I ever get the chance to meet you I’ll have to try to remember to get you to sign my copy.
Awesome…congrats! Next thing you know people will be interviewing YOU, Alice 😉
I’m so happy for you, Alice! And that was one of my favorite Sera’s interview, really. You deserved to be mentioned. BTW I’ve got all SPN magazine issues since #1, hope to read your quoute myself, when I will get next one 😉
I admit I have a subscription to the magazine, & I was thrilled to see you & the site mentioned! Congrats! It is well-deserved!

Congratulations Alice, well deserved! This is one of the more serious and level-headed Supernatural fansites out there. I never really write much here, but I take great pleasure in reading the analysises and articles on the show from time to time.
Keep up the good work!
