Since the good folks at Holler have been doing such a great job of promoting Supernatural for the big season five premiere in the UK on Living, I’m attaching this press release they sent me just in case any Brits out there forgot or might want to actually watch Supernatural season five on a big screen TV rather than an inadequate and small monitor
(pokes at Suze). I must say, this campaign has been pretty good and I’m pleased to see the love for our show like this.
Oh, and as a bonus for those of you that actually read this and not gloss it over or just plain ignore it, the very nice person at Holler sent a link where you can download some really sweet pictures of the boys. I haven’t seen a lot of these. I have them now! http://dl.hollerdigital.co.uk/uploads/SNImages.zip
Also, here’s one very unique way to promote the show. This would have definitely caused a panic in Ohio.

The ultimate battle between good and evil
The exclusive premiere of
Supernatural brand new to LIVING
TX: Wednesday 10th February at 9pm
The fifth series of hit US drama Supernatural will premiere exclusively in the UK on LIVING, the home of paranormal drama. Already boasting a loyal UK fan base, the highly anticipated series chronicles the adventures of demon hunters Sam and Dean Winchester as they journey through small town America in a bid to rid the world of demonic forces.
Twenty-six years ago, Sam (JaredPadalecki– Gilmore Girls, Friday the 13th) and Dean (Jensen Ackles –Smallville, My Bloody Valentine 3D) Winchester lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic paranormal force. From then on, their father raised them to be soldiers, teaching them about the numerous forms of evil that exists within the darkest corners and on the back roads of America. Their father also taught them how to kill the unearthly life forms. Now, the Winchester brothers crisscross the lonely and mysterious back roads of the country in their ’67 Chevy Impala hunting down every evil supernatural force they encounter along the way.
The forth season of the paranormal drama ended on a series defining high as Sam unwittingly opened the gates of hell and freed Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino – Lost). Now alongside his older brother Dean, the demon-hunting Winchester boys must face their toughest battle yet, the apocalypse.
Series five kicks off with an explosive double bill, as the brothers prepare for the inevitable; meeting the devil face to face. But at the very moment, Sam and Dean are suddenly transported onto an incredibly turbulent flight. Could this mysterious outcome be the work of angels? Sam and Dean’s devil dodging may have given them more time to continue their ultimate fight, but, in order to send the definitive bad-boy back into the depths of hell, the Winchesters must find the sword of Michelangelo before Lucifer and his cohorts beat them to it.
In the second part of LIVING’s Supernatural double bill, God has gone missing and with Lucifer lapping up his new found freedom, it’s up to the fallen-angel Castiel (Misha Collins – 24, Nip Tuck) to search for the absent divinity. In a small Colorado town, Sam and Dean witness a chilling reality, the arrival of the first horseman of the Apocalypse.
The ultimate battle between good and evil continues on Supernatural, a UK exclusive on LIVING.
To promote series five, LIVING has created Fight the Apocalypse, an AR game which calls on Supernatural fans to mobilise their armies and join the fight against Lucifer. The AR game is based around collecting hidden symbols – ‘Enochian Sigils’ (which players must locate, photograph and send via MMS to the campaign shortcode).
The social distancing and stay at home orders that are separating Supernatural fans from their friends and family are also keeping fans from interacting with the Supernatural cast and one of the fans’ beloved bands, Louden Swain. To ease the isolation and provide emotional support during these stressful times, the members of Louden Swain –…
The highly anticipated day is here, tonight is The People’s Choice Awards! Here’s what you need to know about tonight’s big event. Jared and Jensen will be attending this year, and they will be presenting an award. No word on what that award is yet or what time they will be on. They will be…
Last night was the premiere night for the highly anticipated new CW experiment, the Wednesday SciFi block! “Arrow,” which was touted by many to be the best pilot of the fall season, made it’s debut and was for the first time paired with “Supernatural.” The results were huge. “Arrow” scored a 1.3 in the 18-49…
Here’s some awesome news from TNT. In celebration of “Supernatural’s” season ten release, which means that they can now air the episodes for season nine, TNT is showing all S9 eps in a special 23 hour marathon! It’ll start Monday at 10pm and goes to 9pm Tuesday, right up to the “Supernatural” season ten premiere….
Now, that’s what I call promotion. Living – undoubtedly – put a lot of money into it. Great move. There’s also some fine promotion in the march issue of SFX – they throw in bits of Supernatural throughout the magazine, eventually directing you (via Route 666) to a glossy two-page ad. I haven’t seen this kind of promo for this show in a long time!
And that Marble Arch thing – absolutely fantastic! What, panic in Ohio? Really? I gotta say, the Brits are a cool bunch.
I’m quite often in London (feels like a second home to me), during that bit political gathering last summer for instance I went up to a police guy (all dressed up in kevlar and a few guns) and asked him about a statue in Parliament garden I had not noticed before (even when you know a city really well, you still miss some things). So he goes to his partner, equally made up in don’t-mess-with-me-I’ll-easily-shoot-that-fly-on-your-head, and they talk, then he comes back to me going ‘we both don’t know for sure, you could go around and take a look from there, unfortunately we can’t let you go in.’ That would not have happened over here,
Cool, cool promotion. My confidence in that foggy island is restored ;-), Jas
yeah there is loads of advertising all over london, posters at train/tube/dlr stations, ads in the papers etc living have really gone to town! london town! (apologies for the bad pun i just couldn’t help myself)
Really, Bethany? That’s exciting! You couldn’t take the odd picture and send them to Alice to post it here? Might be a crazy idea, it just came to me -I’d love to see all that, but can’t get to London right now, next trip will be for my b-day in June. So, that idea is purely selfish.
Cheers, Alice, don’t rub it in or anything , will you? ( and you forgot to add through several thickness’ of cat to your list of ways not to watch )
Hurrah for Living who are totally putting their money where their mouth is ( loved the Marble Arch stunt! ) and if they could just see their way to running a cable out to my damp and satellite-dead corner of the sceptered isle I would love them even more … 😆
Now THAT’S promotion, the way they did it back in the WB days! Actually, a lot BETTER than they did it in the WB days! Thanks so much for the bonus pix, they’re great, and it makes my heart so very happy to see that SOME country appreciates the show enough to give it the promo it deserves! Thank you so much! GOOOOOOOOOOO, SUPERNATURAL UK!
Just read about their petition to get it back to UK. So glad they succeeded. Also WOW BEAUTIFUL pixs….an absolutely gorgeous one of SAM!

Wow. That promo is amazing! And a big YAY for the network to promote Show like this, it surely deserves all of it.

I don’t know, Alice, aren’t 53.7% of news stories during Ohio winters about a building or structure on fire?
Wow, that arch thing is cool! It’s great to see the show get some creative and well-deserved promotion, too.
