We Have A Winner! The Name of Sam’s Shirt Is…
Updated 11/08 – D’oh!!! This is what happens when I post an announcement after a long day of being bounced around like a tennis ball between every member of my family and my pets. This is a FAN CONTEST. There is a winner!!! Why didn’t I post this? Because I’m a moron. The winner, with her fantastic suggestion of the winning name listed below is…
MyMadWorld!!!!!!!
Believe it or not, there is a small, rather insignificant prize involved. So MyMadWorld, please get hold and me via the “Contact Us” link and we can talk details. Thanks everyone for submitting entries.

Okay, I’ve dragged this on long enough. After all, this was a silly idea that cropped up one Monday at work while I was in a blue funk. I’m so pleased so many of you found this to be something fun. The winning name of Sam’s shirt is… Nancy! No, I’m kidding. By popular choice the winner is…
The Paisley Peril!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a picture of Jared with Chad Michael Murray at the 2006 Teen Choice Awards (thanks Elena M!). This took place after the filming of “Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things,” evident by the cast on his arm. So, he’s actually worn this infamous shirt in public. This is slight evidence that the shirt itself is actually part of Jared’s wardrobe. Then again, he’s been known to appear in public with shirts he’s lifted from the set, so who knows? Either way, the mystery of the shirt continues. I’m sorry, the mystery of “The Paisley Peril” continues. Thanks everyone for voting!
ETA: How did I miss this?????????? Thanks Redbird, you’re so right. Here we are, from “Changing Channels.”
Did you notice The Paisley Peril made an appearance in “Changing Channels”? Sam’s wearing it as he and Dean click beer bottles at the end of the theme song montage.

You know, now you’ve got me wondering if that was an intentional reference to our reactions to that infamous shirt. Still, one does have to wonder where that ominous shirt came from.Maybe it’s the evil shirt-creature of the deep? (my pathetic attempt at a post-contest shirt christening
What does that name even mean?! 😯
Congrats to the winner!
I believe it was MyMadWorld, way to go!
It certainly has become his signature shirt.
If he is wearing it out in public, makes you wonder if it has become his favourite shirt to wear.
Maybe it’s because there’s not a lot of shirts that first of all fit him and that he’s actually comfortable in.
I guess we all have our favourite articles of clothing that we wear to death, may it be a shirt, pair of pants, lazing around the house outfit etc.
I know I’ve worn mine till they were beyond repairing and had to move on to new ones.
Hi everyone,
we really found a sweet and hilarious name for that shirt – don’t kill me, but I have loved it from the first time I saw it on him. I would wear it, if he ever wanted to get rid of it (and would probably have to make three of it, well).
Karen, I am right there – how many times have I regretted having to put a piece of clothing away because it would have been embarrassing to wear it any longer… I always intend to buy a thing twice, in order to be able to wear it for a longer time, but somehow I forget and get reminded of that idea the moment I need to throw something away…
If this should be some kind of favourite of Jared’s – great choice, great taste… and it looks comfy, too.
Best wishes, Jas
😉
I had to check on this, but it looks like Trickster, er, Gabriel, has his own version of The Paisley Peril. Hehe… From the end of Mystery Spot:

Good choice chaps!
Maria, Paisley is a kind of squiggley leaf pattern … I think it comes from India but that might be totally wrong.
Oh my God! I can’t believe it! I never thought I’d win!!! I don’t have a speech ready! I’d like to thank my family and my dogs and especially my husband who was the one who thought I should check out this new show called Supernatural sometime in season 3 – boy does he regret that!
I’m so sorry that I’m so late in accepting my award! We were celebrating our anniversary this weekend in a lovely resort in Algonquin Park and I’ve have not been back to the computer until now. We also just got a new Golden Retriever puppy – 8 weeks old and a bit of a peril himself! As yet unnamed – I’m fighting to name him Winchester (Chester for short) and my husband & 3 boys are against it. We’re leaning towards Riley but I’ll take any suggestions! I’ll contact you as instructed Alice – and thanks so very much! This was great fun!
