The CW OMG Moment of The Week
I’d never heard of this before. Probably because I don’t watch Gossip Girl or 90210 or the shows that The CW bends over backwards to promote (except the Vampire Diaries. I do watch and like that). Anyway, Robert Seidman at tvbythenumbers.com, who’s a huge Supernatural fan, got this from the CW today. It’s their “OMG Moment of The Week.”
Read what Robert had to say about getting this here. He’s like the rest of us. Has Hell frozen over?
Hi everyone,
there were so many OMG moments in that episode… I had to rewatch it a few times to get them all.
I love it, though, that the CW chose to advertise their (to my mind) best show in this hilarious way (I’ve seen a few episodes of Gossip Girl and 90210, but that kind of show is boring me, sorry).
I don’t know which network owns the CSIs… is there a little network-bashing going on here? If so, it’s done in a fine, wicked, smart way.
Parody, after all, is some kind of acknowledgement, but it can hurt, also.
Dean’s point is exactly why I stopped watching those shows. Know one and you know them all. I watch the occasional episode sometimes, but in the beginning CSI was new and innovative, now that horse is slowing down…
Furthermore, that kind of Supernatural promotion also shows that there is more to this show than angels and demons and the occasional monster…. A lot more… But we all know that.
Best wishes, Jas
I’m in Portugal but for what I here you, and everyone else, say about the CW I have to agree that hell as indeed frozen over!
But that was really a OMG moment! Heck the entire episode was my OM(F)G moment of the week!
Dean sums up why shows such as Supernatural or Millennium or The X-Files are much more interesting than that kind of crap. The star is either the procedure itself or the courtroom. Microscopes and lawyer briefs are fine and dandy, but, yawn. How about some human condition? Now that’s fascinating.
I caught this yesterday at TV BY THE NUMBERS and was amazed that they actually did something for the show.
I think CBS is part of the ownership of the CW which is why on Big Bang Theory last year they did some heavy handed promo of ANTP in one episode. It’s interesting that CBS also shows advertisements for Melrose Place on Tuesday nights during NCIS…doesn’t help though since Melrose goes against NCIS Los Angeles thus I don’t think the promoting helps but heck, they’ve got to do something with that lame goose they put out there.
Next week we’re likely to be back to the norm, since apparently GG has decided to go all in and be pornographic this coming Monday with their threesome episode. Sheesh, porn, that’s the best Dawn et al can come up with to deliver to 15 – 28 year olds or whatever the ‘real’ demographic is she’s aiming for.
Sad, sad, sad. I’ll take SPN any day…Bela, Bugs, Ghost ships and heck yeah, even if ghost bees make an appearance.
Hee
Actually bees ARE evil little sods … Everyone thinks they’re all fluffy and co-operative and good with all the honey and the waggle dancing and stuff but they can really hold a grudge once they get their pheramones in a twist … My Dad’s kept them for years and personally I’d take wasps every time! ( Or alligators … Still hoping! )
In saw this yesterday too and thought it was part of the promotion they did last week, ie sending out the whole epi. Didn’t know it was somethinkg special.
I watched all the CSI and other production shows and think it’s funny CW used that clip in it’s promotion. Yeah…I think it’s a jab, but those show do get boring. But unfortunately that also have a good viewer rating. Just what the public wants!
I’ll take ghost bees over that anytime.
yep…put me on the ghost bees train anytime rather than watch CSI Miami, seriously it is just Horatio Caine giving one-liners while taking his sunglasses on and off…..truely terrible, but an awesome impression by the boys!
