Fan Video of the Week: Supernatural Reflections “Twigs & Twine & Tasha Banes”
“When I was growing up, my mother was always a friend to my siblings and me (in addition to being all the other things a mom is), and I was always grateful for that because I knew she was someone I could talk to and joke with, and argue with and that nothing would ever harm that friendship.” — Marlo Thomas
“I believe in soulmates, yes, but I believe you also have to work at love. I happen to believe your soulmate doesn’t have to be your partner – your soulmate could be your best friend, your sibling, it doesn’t have to be the person you marry.” — Cheryl Cole
I got to tell you, I like the twins a lot so it was easy to pick the idea for the video this time. I actually chose two quotes to use this time from the word “sibling”. I only could find one video about the Banes and it didn’t have a music that had lyrics. The second video I chose was then about witches and it was multi fandom. I also liked the song that was on it. A third video about witches is at the end of the article.
Here is some information about the twins and witches in Supernatural.
Max Banes

Alicia Banes

Here is the information about witches in Supernatural from Supernatural Wiki.
A witch, also known as a sorcerer or warlock, is a person, whether male or female, who has the power to effect change by magical means (“witchcraft”). Of those encountered by Sam and Dean, most are practitioners of black magic – that is spells used for self-gain or to harm others. Witches can be extremely long-lived and very powerful, so much so that Sam and Dean have only been able to kill three of the witches they have encountered. Some witches have a companion known as a familiar who can appear in either animal or human form. The relationship between witch and familiar is like a melding of souls, creating an unbreakable bond, where the witch would be just as willing to die for its familiar as the familiar would its witch.
According to the Grand Coven there are three types of witches in the world, first the “borrowers” – witches that get their power from demons, presumably in exchange for their souls. The second type, and rarest are the “naturals” those born with natural ability for magic. Thirdly are “students” who are trained and mentored by Grand Coven approved witches. However, it appears some witches are shown to be self-taught, no deals or mentors, just a book of spells. It is notable that hunters like Sam, Dean and Bobby Singer often use spells and rituals, but would not consider themselves witches.
The Grand Coven ruled and controlled the affairs of witches and guarded the lore. However, the Grand Coven and the witch community is now greatly weakened, after any years of attacks and witch hunts coupled with an organized effort by the Men of Letters to plunder them or their spell books and records, which they hid in various spell-guarded bunkers around the world. When a witch dies, willow moss is said to grow on the graves, making them easily identifiable to hunters.
Story about witches has appeared/suspected in these episodes (Mostly due to Crowley and Rowena in later episodes from season 10 forward).

Short description about Witchcraft in Wikipedia.
Witchcraft or witchery broadly means the practice of, and belief in, magical skills and abilities that are able to be exercised by individuals and certain social groups. Witchcraft is a complex concept that varies culturally and societally; therefore, it is difficult to define with precision and cross-cultural assumptions about the meaning or significance of the term should be applied with caution. Witchcraft often occupies a religious, divinatory or medicinal role, and is often present within societies and groups whose cultural framework includes a magical world view.

Wicked Ones by Dorothy
This night ain’t for the faint of heart
For the faint of heart, for the faint of heart
This night ain’t for the faint of heart
‘Cause the faint of heart gonna fall apart
This night ain’t for the holy man with the holy plan
For the promised land
This night we got the evil hand
And the evil hand gonna raise the dead
Ain’t no sleep when the wicked play
All we do is get laid
Ain’t no love when the wicked run
All we do is get lay off
Lay off
Lay off
We the wicked ones
Wicked ones
This night ain’t for the faint of heart
For the faint of heart, for the faint of heart
This night ain’t for the faint of heart
‘Cause when the train wreck comes gonna leave them out
Ain’t no sleep when the wicked play
All we do is get laid
Ain’t no love when the wicked run
All we do is get lay off
Lay off
Lay off
We the wicked ones
Wicked ones
Ain’t no sleep when the wicked play
All we do is get laid
Ain’t no love when the wicked run

Quotes
Sam: And what about you? Uh, with magic.
Alicia: Nah, I don’t have it. It’s just kind of a lot of noise to me. Magic is definitely their thing, you know?
Sam: Yeah. When I was growing up, Dean and my dad had the same thing with hunting, that bond.
Sam: Hey, Max, um, this is, uh… Look, you — you’re probably in shock right now, but it’s gonna pass.
Dean: And then it’s gonna hurt.
Max: I could’ve saved them… My mom. If I had just… taken Alicia seriously.
Dean: Come on, man, you can’t think like that.
Max: Just stop talking. Please.
Sam: You did the right thing. You saved him.
Dean: Yeah. Yeah, he seemed super saved. You know, I was watching them, this loving family. The kind we should’ve had. And now just like that, it’s gone.
Sam: Dean, you couldn’t let Max make some deal for his soul.
Dean: Sam, we do terrible things all the time to save each other. I mean, that’s what you do for family. Who am I to stop him?
Sam: Well, he’s strong. He’ll be all right.
Dean: Yeah, I’m not so sure.

Trivia and Minutiae
Dean: Okay, so last night… that Super Mario power-up crap? That wasn’t Cas. That freaking baby isn’t even born yet and it sock puppeted him. Think about it. Cas said that he had ‘faith’ in Lucifer Jr.? What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Super Mario is the main character in the Nintendo game of the same name. To “power-up” is to gain some extra ability or benefit in the game.
Mr. Ketch: Yes, well, Mary, I’m sad to say that you won’t become the Jiminy Cricket of the British Men of Letters. We don’t need a conscience. Such a trite idea, but we firmly believe the ends do justify the means.
Jiminy Cricket is a character from a 19th century Italian novel and later Disney movie “The Adventures of Pinocchio.” Pinocchio is a wooden puppet who wants to be a real boy and a cricket called Jiminy agrees to act as his conscience.
Sam: Their mom’s on a hunting trip and hasn’t been home in a week.
A spin on Dean’s line from 1.01 Pilot: “Dad’s on a hunting trip. And he hasn’t been home in a few days.”
