Memorable Moments: Supernatural 12.09 “First Blood”

Welcome back to the “Memorable Moments” series! Once again, I put together a list of what I felt were the best and most memorable moments from a Supernatural episode. This edition features 12.09 “First Blood”. The list varies from episode to episode depending on what has transpired.  I hope you enjoy my visual review! Brothers in Unison

I picked a couple of moments for this category.

When placed in their separate cells both sit in silence and….

…stare downward.

When getting their ‘Chow Time’ they both…

…smell their food first.

Both died….

 ….at the same time.

 The brothers were laid out the same.   

Reviving at the same time.

Lastly, both have the same expression as they escape.

Best Sam Moment

Sam stopping Camp from shooting Dean. “Don’t. Hand me the gun. You want to know the truth. The President was possessed by the Devil. We saved his life. That’s the truth…..”

Best Dean Moment

Dean talking to Sanchez on the walkie-talkie ” We’re not trapped out here with you, you’re trapped out here with us”. 

Best Mary Moment

Willing to sacrifice herself to save her boys.

Best Castiel Moment

Castiel killing Billie to save the Winchesters. “You know this world, this sad, doomed little world, it needs you. It needs every last Winchester it can get, and I won’t let you die, I won’t let any of you die. And I won’t let you sacrifice yourselves. You mean too much to me, to everything. Yeah you made a deal, you made a stupid deal and I broke it. You’re welcome”

   Best Crowley Moment

Although Crowley was a Douche for refusing to help Castiel find the brothers. I did like what he implied in a roundabout way. No matter what trouble the brothers get themselves in, they always manage to find their way out of it.  

“Whoever has Sam and Dean, in the immortal words of Lawrence Tero (Mr. T.) ‘I pity the fool'”

Best Mary and Castiel Moment

The confrontation between the two as they deal with the disappearance of Sam and Dean.

Mary: You left them!

Cas: No…I… Dean told me to go to the woman…

Mary: The one you lost?

Cas: I didn’t , I thought she….

Mary: Stop making excuses. Why…if they needed help why didn’t they call me?…   

Cas: You were out.

Mary: How did we let this happen Castiel?   

Later(six weeks, 2 days and 10 hours), the two meeting up.  Mary apologizing and letting Cas know that this wasn’t his fault, while trying to support and be positive.

Best Nostalgic Moment

Seeing  the old surveillance picture of Sam and…

Dean’s mug shot. Man, they were so young.

Saddest Moment

Killing of Billie. I did like her character.  

Best ‘Awwwww’ Moment

The family reunion starting with Hugs from Castiel

First to Sam…

Then to Dean. “Thanks buddy”

Then Hugs from Mom.

First to Sam……

Then to Dean.

Funniest Moment

Camp and Sanchez pull the coroner from the body drawer. Staring off in a bit of shock, he manages to get a casual “Hey”

I also have to go with the conversation between Mick and Wally. As Mick is trying to convince Wally to join forces and work together, Wally slurps on his drink, wolfs down his burger and even picks his teeth while listening half heartedly. As he leaves he gives Mick his opinion. ” Limey paper pusher, take your offer and shove it up your ass. I’m sure it wouldn’t be too painful with those soft hands.”

Best CGI/VFX scene

The beheaded Vampire’s  body…..

…and head.

Best Editing

Showing in time lapse, the monotony of the boys’ isolation

I’m also have to  include the  “Chow Time” montage.

Full Circle Moment

Mick and Mr. Ketch standing together while offering their services to Mary and Castiel.

Then later side by side again to be there for Sam and Dean’s safe arrival.

Best Camera Shot

Our boys crossing the stream/river, surrounded by the lush forest.

Best Angle Shot

Down view of Mary and Castiel in the bunker. 

“Best Lighting” Scene

The moonlight shinning down on the little cottage, with the glow of the oil lamp at the window.

The beautiful mountain scene.
