It’s that time of year again! When we get together with our family after a hard day of banishing ghosts and ganking monsters and exchange gifts with family as a way of saying, “Hey, you may be a bitch or a jerk, but your my bitch/jerk.” So what can you get for the Supernatural fan in your life? Officially Licensed Supernatural Gifts

Creation Entertainment now has a wishlist section where you can pick out items invented by the actors in celebration for the show. If enough people order, it will get made and the proceeds will go to a charity of the actor’s choice. (Mark Pellegrino’s Lucifer mug makes me laugh the hardest.) Then there’s Creation Entertainment’s main store of Supernatural goodies.

Cryptozoic has released 2 decks of Supernatural themed playing cards.

Deck A seems to have more symbols and themes on it (making it feel like a deck that could be from that universe) while Deck B has the pictures of everybody’s favorite cast on the cards. Cryptozoic has also released trading cards for seasons 1-3 or seasons 4-6 of the show (some cards include autographs and even pieces of wardrobe).

If your Supernatural fan is a bit more of the solitude type, don’t forget that there’s a LOT of books out there. From behind-the-scenes & episode guides for 1-7 to “additional adventures ” taking place between episodes. My personal pick is anything by Keith R. A. DeCandido or “The Roads Not Taken” a choose-your-own-adventure style book that’s actually pretty awesome in its execution. If you need the ultimate coffee table book (emphasis on ultimate) there’s the Essential Supernatural. I have a copy I still haven’t finished (mostly because it has so much awesome in it, looking inside is like staring at the sun).

There is also now the Supernatural Official Coloring Book and a Supernatural jigsaw puzzle for those who enjoy a bit of arts and craft in their downtime. If that’s STILL not awesome enough, I present to you…

Lifesize cardboard standups. No longer do you have to wait in long convention lines to get your photo taken with Sam and Dean and Castiel. That’s the only use I can think of for them.

Speaking of conventions, Supernatural memorabilia can be organized and stored in ConquestJournals’ Supernatural themed books for scrapbooking. They’re also great for magazine articles and pictures, ticket stubs and anything else related to Supernatural you want to keep safe.

“But Nate,” I hear your friend asking, “the fan I’m buying for already HAS all that. That’s how I know they’re a fan!” To which I say, GOODY! I love a challenge! Let’s dig up some lesser known gifts…

For instance, if you’re not wanting to play Monopoly or Clue, but a game that pretty closely captures the feel of being a hunter, Salt & Burn, the board game does this pretty well. You won’t see familiar characters in it save Lucifer & the horsemen (yes there is an apocalypse scenario) but the world is very familiar. And there’s always the variety of fan books such as Fangasm , Fan Phenomena: Supernatural , the Supernatural mythology or essays on its philosophy.

If you’re willing to wait a bit for delivery, you can be one of the first to pre-order the Fangasm author’s new book, Family Don’t End With Blood, a collection of essays written by fans and more than 10 actors from the show (including Jared!) about “How a Show, and the Support of Its Fandom, Changed – and Saved – Lives”.
