Memorable Moments: Supernatural 12.01 “Keep Calm and Carry On”

It’s hiatus once again, so welcome back to the “Memorable Moments” series for Supernatural‘s Season 12! For each episode I will put together a list of what I felt were the best and most memorable moments from that episode. Best Sam Moment

Sam’s defiance as he tells Toni ‘Screw You. You want to get mad. You want to get mean. I’ve been tortured by the Devil himself, so you. You’re just an accent in a pant suit. What can you do to me?’ 

Best Dean Moment

Dean’s phone call to Toni ‘Listen Bitch. I don’t care who you are, I don’t care what you want. You have my brother….Now I’m gonna give you one chance, just one to hand Sam back…’ 

Best Castiel Moment

Castiel getting rough with the limo driver and…..

the veterinarian to get the information they need to find Sam.  

Best Crowley Line(s)

Demon: We’re not stupid

Crowley: You keep telling yourself that dear.

Crowley: Like they say ‘Duh’

Crowley: Who’s laughing now? (after killing the two demons) 

Best Bad Ass Moment

Mary killing the torturer, Ms Watt. 

Saddest Moments

Mary’s return. Finding out she’s been gone for 34 years, her boys are grown men and that John is dead.  

Dealing with how the world has changed and what she missed out on -the moments she could have had with her own family. 

Struggling with the consequences of the hunting life….. 

….and never wanting this for her boys. 

Funniest Moment

Castiel crawling out of the hole to find….. 

… a startled truck driver, who he asks ‘Where am I?’ and his response was ‘Ah…. Earth’

Most Touching Moment

Mary hugging Dean after realising that he is her son. ‘Dean’…. ‘Hi Mom’ 

Best ‘Awwwww’ Moment

Castiel’s reaction to seeing Dean alive. 

Sweetest Moment

Mary’s reaction to seeing Baby. ‘Hi sweetheart, remember me?’ 

Most Awkward Moment

Mary’s  longing look into the back seat and then looking at Dean, implying possibly that this is where Dean may have been conceived. Leading to ….

Dean’s realization and reaction. 

Best Camera Shot

The empty bench surrounded by trees, plants and with the sun shining through.

The abandoned house where Toni is keeping Sam

Ms. Watt burning Sam’s foot.

only to lose that battle.

Grossest Moment

All of Lucifer’s vessel victims, with the burnt out eyes. 

Best Musical Cue

Black Sabbath’s “Solitude”. It starts in as the damaged Impala (Baby) heads out…

Continuing to the corps of  Lucifer’s latest vessel…

While Crowley stands quietly realizing his search for Lucifer isn’t over. 

We then go back to a somewhat Melancholy Dean, Cas and …  

Mary as they continue their search for Sam. 

Leaving us with a battered, hurting Sam, trying to rest and stay strong.
