Channelling Mistakes!
“That got weird!”
Did God prepare an alternate reality to show Sam and Dean the “Mistakes” of their plan?
WHAT DID I WATCH?
THE SCRIPT
Chuck/God had a plan. Bargain with Amara. God gets locked up as long as Amara promises to spare the world.
But, no way, the Winchesters do not want this.
They have “Plan B.”
Instead of arguing, Chuck shows them the futility of their plan by letting them experience the plan.
Whether or not you think this happened in an alternate reality….the plan was revealed as a bad one.
There are a lot of “IFS” in the Winchester Plan and some undeveloped thinking.
IFS
If God and Lucifer can make up…
If Crowley and the Demons get on board….
If the Angels get on board…
If Rowena gets on board…
Even IF everyone agrees to the Winchester PLAN B, there are still a lot of PROBLEMS.
END MOVE
The big crusher is what will be their end move?
Lock up Amara using Sam as a key? Dean does not want that.
Kill Amara? They can’t. It will destroy the balance of life and fabric of their reality.
(What little is left)
Killing Amara and/or locking her up would be unfair. Dean almost steps in to stop it.
Chuck reveals that there are two sides to this story. He is as flawed as Amara.
Is it really fair to condemn her to a cage for millions of years, again?
CASUALTY LIST
Sam and Dean’s plan is also reckless because the casualty list is long and random.
Chuck effectively shows them why their plan will not work.
Did this all really happen or did Chuck stage the events in an alternate reality?
Could this episode have been a “Changing Channels” learn your lesson, combined with a “French Mistake”?
EVIDENCE
There are many reasons why this might be an alternate reality:
God gestures a spell:
God also appears to be on a stage:
Sam and Dean are mostly in the role of spectators:
and even up in the peanut gallery.
Dean ends up watching against a “yellow” cage of deception.
Chuck lets them have a go at “PLAN B” but only as a trial run.
He creates an alternate reality for them to test drive their plan.
In so doing, he shows them how bad their plan is.
God is not dead. Casifer is not dead.
They are “mostly dead.”
Either I’m right and Bobo is a genius, or …well, “That got weird.”
There is a chance I could be wrong and this was all for real….
But, that’s my theory and I’m sticking to it at least until WEDNESDAY.
(If I am wrong, I still prefer my take better anyway.)
Next episode, are we back to reality and GOD’S PLAN?
Or, will there be a PLAN C?

BECHDEL TEST
Barbara Eve Harris, Emily Swallow, and Ruth Connell engaged in character dialogues
that not only passed the Bechdel Test but were entertaining, dramatic, and funny.
(Only 8 out of 22 episodes have passed this easy test to determine gender equity, so far in Season 11, or 36%.)
I give a reserved dance of celebration.
BEST PERFORMANCE
As always, stellar performances from Jensen Ackles,
and Jared Padalecki,
Encore please Clea, Barbara Eve Harris!
Emily Swallow had us empathizing with Amara:
Outstanding performances from Rob Benedict,
and Ruth Connell and Mark Sheppard
Lucifer, tearing us up at his reaction to the apology:
