From Entertainment Weekly
Supernaturalboss says the Winchesters will remain a ‘united front’ .
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: We haven’t spoken since the reveal that the Darkness is God’s sister, which is one of my favorite twists you all have ever done. I have to know: Was that always the plan?
JEREMY CARVER: Yeah. When devising the character we’re trying to find ways to make it the most relatable. It instantly humanizes an otherworldly force by creating something of a sibling rivalry, and of course it also connects to the sibling nature of Sam and Dean. For us, it fits into all the themes and everything that we’ve been trying to drive home over 11 years.
Jeremy Carver also spoke to Comic Book Resources and Explains Lucifer’s Return, Weighs in on Season 12.
SPINOFF ONLINE: How long have you waited to bring Lucifer back — and why was now the right time?Jeremy Carver:
With Lucifer, we have a wonderful combination of a great character played by a great actor like Mark Pellegrino. You are always going to look for any possibility to bring him back. By introducing this element of Amara — who is God’s sister — rising again from where she was hidden, it begins to reopen the landscape for archangels in terms of who really has the power to stop her. Lucifer, in wanting to insert himself into this battle, makes perfect sense to us from a story standpoint.
He also says this about a the end of the season
“Supernatural” typically ends its season with a cliffhanger. Are you approaching this year’s finale as a season finale or series finale?
Our mindset is definitely a season finale. We’re not done telling the Winchesters’ story yet.
What do you think? How soon will the boys figure out that Cas isn’t Cas, but is Casifer? Are you looking forward to seeing Misha play Lucifer? It looks like we will skip the week after next, the week of February 3 and then they come back with a Valentine’s Day episode. We have a curse that can kiss? Maybe it manifests as a person? I’m not getting much from the description this far. How about you?
Then we have the interviews. Lucifer is back with a vengeance and the writers think this is the right time for it. Plus, they seem to think we will get season 12! How exciting for our little show that could. Are you excited for the rest of the season? If you are excited tell us in the comments or in the rumors/spoilers discussion thread. If not, join us in the skeptics page .
Love Hurts hmm will that be played in the episode the song
Over on threads there was a mention of Lucifer’s character looking a bit campy ?? It seems to be more noticable when he took possession of Cas. Mark plays Lucy well evil plenty of snark and inuendo. But in the snippet here when he puts his hand on Dean’s sholder it appears off — I know it was like 2 sec but I am getting that campy feel from the character. Dean was always into “Personnal Space” with Cas and that very quick 2sec look maybe around the time when Dean starts to think something is off . Sam picked it up straight away which does happen when people on the outer of a friendship can see things that the people in the friendship can’t see. Now Sam needs to convince Dean.
I was hoping they would (they might) write this new direction for Cas differently It would be great if Lucy played Cas instead of the other way round. Infiltrated the Club House & The Boys life. Really got into everything they do Their life their weapons, everything like a undercover spy. We would know of course but The boys wouldn’t — they wouldn’t have to close off the story this season but carry it over till next I think it would be a really interesting idea ????
Comic Book Resources : Viewers immediately noticed the absence of Adam and Michael in the cage. Is this the same prison from Season 5 or an alternate version?
JC: It’s the same one. The absence is explained a bit more in Episode 10. The focus is really on Lucifer, but the cage you saw, you didn’t see all of it. There’s no reason not to think that someone else isn’t in there. But, when Lucifer is brought to this cage in hell, then it’s solely Lucifer.
Okay does anyone understand JC speak? 🙂
That’s a resounding NO as far as I’m concerned. His interviews are useless and usually incoherent. You need Charlie’s code breaking to figure it out.
Headdesk! Does Carver even watch the show he’s responsible for or at least read the episode summaries or transcript for 11.09? “Show” made it clear that Crowley, Rowena and Sam were in ‘Limbo’ – the lowest part of Hell proper- and the ‘cage’ was designed to send ‘unruly souls for time outs’. Limbo was ‘secure’ and the spell Rowena cast was designed to one, protect Sam, and two to summon ‘Lucifer’ into the ‘Limbo cage’ from the Real Cage, still suspended in Hell on chains below Hell proper. That’s where Michael is – still in the Real Cage.
