The Teen Choice Awards and Supernatural
This week, Supernatural won its first Teen Choice Awards! This was not the first time Supernatural and its stars has been associated with the TCAs, though.
The show was first nominated in 2006 for TV – Choice Breakout Show. Jensen was also nominated that year for TV -Choice Breakout Star. This started a long tradition of nominations for both the show and the actors. Supernatural was nominated for Choice TV Show Fantasy/Sci-Fi in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Jensen was nominated for Choice TV Actor Fantasy/Sci-Fi in 2012 and 2013. Jared was also nominated for Choice TV Actor Fantasy/Sci-Fi in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Jared has an even longer history with the TCAs. In 1999 he won a “Claim to Fame” contest that made him a trophy presenter at that year’s TCAs. Here we have a very young Jared Padalecki carrying the surfboard behind Sandra Bullock and Matthew McConaughey for the award for Movie Best Hissy Fit.

In 2001 Jared returned to announce the trophy presenters at that ceremony and gave a very cute interview.

Then in 2006, when both Jensen and Supernatural were up for awards, both Jensen and Jared appeared at the TCAs. Jensen was a presenter and Jared had fun near a hot tub.

Winning a Teen Choice Award has been a long time coming for Supernatural, for Jared, for Jensen and for Misha. It is really impressive that after ten years Supernatural continues to bring in new fans and continues to be popular among teens. Congratulations to the show, Jared, Jensen and Misha!
Any award the Boys and SPN can win are WELL EARNED. I don’t understand alot about how your American award shows work but the only thing that maybe puts me off here is the word TEEN It comes back to a lot of discussions us fans have been having about the Age Group watching Supernatural and the possible influence they are having directly or indirectlty to the writing of the show.
I guess alot of the older award shows have very stiff competition ??? Or younger people tend to be more prolific voters ?? CONGRATS as I said any award is well deserved
