Hiatus Hunting: Fun With The Boys, Part 1
Ah, spring of 2012. Season Seven was winding down (thank Chuck!), “Supernatural” was on the verge of moving from the doldrums of Friday nights to Wednesdays with new show “Arrow” (thank Chuck!), and one of our writers at the time, Sablegreen, decided to have some really great fun with GIFs. It was really the first time anyone had attempted a “GIF spam” and it was a huge hit. So much so it resulted in a second article!
For our Hiatus Hunting this time, in honor of Throwback Thursday, we present part one of that two part series, “Fun With The Boys.” I think you’ll really love this one. Warning, for those of you with slow connections, give this some time to load. It’s worth it!

Hiatus is upon us again, only for two weeks but still a long time to wait for the next installment of the Dean and Sam story -especially with such cool happenings last episode.
To tide us over until we have that beautiful eye candy back on our TV screens, I thought some fun with the boys would be appropriate. Obviously by ‘the boys’ I’m talking Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki the two hotties that play Dean and Sam Winchester.
Creator Eric Kripke was either very smart or very lucky when he chose Ackles and Padalecki to play Dean and Sam. Both are seriously underestimated (to non-fans) as actors and can go from drama to comedy at the drop of a hat. Like “X-Files”Âť with Mulder and Scully, a good scene between Dean and Sam can make an otherwise sub-standard episode worth watching again and again.
It all stems from the chemistry that the two actors share, both on set and off, and it was there from the start. Their antics shown in gag reels and convention footage have become renown, depicting the wonderful times they have filming the series and the great friendships they have forged with their co-stars.

Jared’s antics between takes have proven time and time again the he is a cut up of huge proportions, and is especially good at bringing the goofball out in the ‘closet dork’ Jensen.

The heart of “Supernatural”Âť is the relationship between Dean and Sam, two brothers who will literally sacrifice everything for each other -. but not without a lot of fun and some heart-warming brotherly moments along the way. The show has grown into an exploration of family ties, and the brothers’ relationship has somehow avoided becoming stale even though they are together all the time. The chemistry between Jensen and Jared is the reason and their friendship on camera and off has lead to some pretty funny scenes.
The MOTW episodes may be “Supernatural”Âť stock-in-trade, but the funny episodes end up being the standouts. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are adept at playing comedy and the writers have given them more material as the series has gone forward. A side benefit of humor – it keeps “Supernatural” from taking itself too seriously. (Smile)
Who can forget the boys wrestling in “Tall Tales.”Âť

Or that sweet nose bop Sam gives Dean in “Sam, Interrupted”Âť

Here’s one of Sam’s classic ‘bitch’ faces at a Dean wise-ass remark –

Or any one of Dean’s many funny faces.

And who can forget the classic “Batman.”Âť

How about this funny scene in “Death Takes a Holiday”Âť? We get another classic Sam ‘bitch’ face too. Two for the price of one! Hehehe

Or the unhappy look when they had to reveal their tattoos in “Jus In Bello.”

Love the look of confusion on both boys in this scene from “Fallen Idol”Âť.

Speaking of Faces, Sam has some good ones too. Love the WTF looks here -..

How about this faux pas during filming?

And he loves making faces…….

If you think they are a riot by themselves, look at what they do together.

….see you SOON!!!!
