Supernatural Stars Start New Charity Fundraiser

After the incredible success of his Always Keep Fighting fundraiser, Jared Padelecki is at it again, this time with help! Jesen Ackles is teaming up with him!

In an interview with The Public Slate Jared and Jensen said that they are teaming up with co-star Misha Collins.

Ackles and Padalecki are not only working on the Always Keep Fighting campaign, but they are also teaming up with their fellow Supernatural actor, Misha Collins, and his organization Random Acts. Collins organization got started in 2009 as a Tweet asking his fans, known as minions, to come up with a plan for a “minion stimulus project.” This original Tweet has morphed into a non-profit organization that is looking to make a difference in the world, with one random act of kindness at a time. Padalecki and Ackles are hoping that by teaming up with Collins’ organization, they will be able to increase their overall reach.

With y’all’s help, we’ve been able to raise (literally!) hundreds of thousands of dollars to support great organizations. Organizations like To Write Love On Her Arms, Wounded Warriors, St. Jude’s, Attitudes In Reverse, The Down Syndrome Connection, and more.

And go on to say

We have the “bug”. We want to seek out and find MORE worthy causes (while still supporting the aforementioned charities, of course) so that there can be an overwhelming abundance of places people can go to seek help. Whether it’s for mental illness, depression, addiction, or for causes that we are not even aware of yet!

For those who already bought a tee shirt from Jared’s first project, the guys have added new merchandise, including tote bags and phone cases.

An article from Liberty Voice at GuardianTV about the launch also talked about the impact of Jared’s previous campaign and how it inspired them to launch this new fund raiser.

Not only was Padalecki’s original campaign a success financially for charity, but it also started discussions. People sat down and addressed some of the every day issues that everyone faces. Now, both Padalecki and Ackles want to offer support to more charities, whether they are small and need a helping hand in order to grow, or even if they have not gotten off the ground yet. Starting now, the two are hoping to support a variety of charities. This means not only is this second campaign important, but it also appears to be a starting point for future fundraising.
