Rob Benedict and Richard Speight Jr. of Supernatural to Create a Comedy Series
We have more Supernatural stars exploring their creative side by producing new shows.
This time it’s Rob Benedict and Richard Speight Jr. who are teaming up to create a comedy series, Kings of Con, based on their real-life experiences on the fan convention circuit.
Variety details the project.
The series aims to go beyond the autograph lines and photo ops to show what really makes the cons truly weird and unpredictable — the actors paid to be there. It’s described as “Broad City” meets “Party Down” with the comedic honesty of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Louie,” as Benedict and Speight play caricatures of themselves cavorting through the con world

What a great idea to bring the fun and madness of conventions to film! Those of us who can’t make it to a convention will be able to share in the experience.
We have so many talented actors on our show. We are also seeing that they are talented in many other areas. It is so great that Supernatural is giving actors like Rich and Rob a chance to spread their wings and create inventive new programming.
UPDATED: TV Guide has run an article on The Kings of Con campaign.
It’ll be interesting to see what kind of approach they’ll take on the rumors / reality that the actors have sex with fans who come see them at conventions.
Huh… I must be out of the loop, I’ve never heard that rumor!! Yikes!
