Supernatural Stars Nominated in 2015 Zap2It Social Media Showdown
Jared, Jensen and Misha have all been nominated at Zap2It to be voted as the king of social media.
What is the Social Media Showdown? From Zap2It
Starting Monday (Mar. 2), we’re yet again pitting celebrity against celebrity across four social media platforms in a “March Madness”-style competition. We’ve chosen 64 of the best celebrity social media experts who consistently impress us with their fan devotion and interaction. You, the fans, will reward them by voting for your favorites. As the month goes on, we’ll see who is named champ of each social media platform, and then, finally, who is the 2015 Showdown King or Queen!
The 64 celebs have been split into 4 groups — Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr — and each round will last for 4 days. Round 1 kicks off Monday, March 2nd at 10am with Facebook, Instagram on March 3, Tumblr on March 4, and Twitter on March
There were some glitches on getting all of our guys on the ballot. Initially, Jared and Misha were both nominated for their presence on Twitter, but Jensen was left off. After some thought, Zap2It decided it was not a good idea to have all three of our guys in one category and Jensen was placed in the Facebook group.
Zap2It explains the situation here, here, here and here.
Here is how it works.
The 64 candidates have been split into four groups: The best of Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr and Twitter. Round 1 of the competition begins on March 3 when the 16 Facebook contenders will face off against one another. Voting for the Instagram nominees will begin on March 4, the Tumblr candidates on March 5, and Twitter on March 6. Each social media site’s voting round will last for four days.
Once only eight competitors are left standing in each bracket, Round 2 will begin. Voting for Facebook’s second batch begins on March 10, Instagram’s on March 11, Tumblr’s on March 12 and Twitter’s on March 13. Voting will again last for four days.
On March 17, things will start getting interesting in Round 3. Voting for all 16 finalists from the four brackets will begin then, and last for four days. Voting for Round 4, which will see two candidates left standing in each bracket, will start on March 21 and also last for four days.
The Semi-Finals will begin on March 25 with the finalists from Facebook and Tumblr facing off against one another, and Twitter and Instagram facing off against one another.
Voting will last in the Semi-Finals until March 28, when the final two contenders will compete in the Championship round to determine who is the TV star king or queen of social media. The winner will be crowned on March 31.
Misha won King of Social Media last year. Let’s see if we can have one of our guys win for this year,
In case some haven’t visited Jared’s Twitter and Facebook page recently, I wanted to let them know about a charity Jared is supporting.

Guys,
I’ve finally figured this Facebook thing out (I think! Hah – thanks Stephen Amell)! What better first post than to launch my represent.com/jared T-shirt campaign to benefit TWLOHA.
This is a cause that’s especially close to my heart (you can read the story behind the shirt on the campaign page) and it would mean a lot to me for you to get involved and spread the word.
I’ll be sending the shirt I’m wearing in this pic, signed, to one buyer from the next 24 hours!
Always Keep Fighting.
“When life beats you down, NEVER give up. Proceeds from my FIRST EVER limited edition shirt will go to “To Write Love On Her Arms”, to help people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.”
The Story Behind The Shirt
On New Years Eve, my dear friend lost his battle with depression. This, unfortunately, wasn’t the first time i lost a personal friend to suicide, and it hurt me deeply, in a way that only a personal experience with suicide can. Though he wasn’t the first friend I’ve lost to suicide, I sure hope he’s the last. I wish i had the chance to go back and tell them what they meant to me. I wish I had the chance to beg them to seek help, to keep fighting. I wish they knew that they were surrounded by countless others who struggle on a daily basis.
I hope that this campaign, while raising money for a wonderful charity, can also raise awareness about issues that affect more people than we know. I hope it inspires people battling depression, addiction, mental illness and suicidal thoughts to be vocal about their struggles. I hope it helps people realize that they shouldn’t be ashamed of what they are going through, and I hope it helps people meet and find new friends that they can relate to. I hope it helps people take pride in the fight that they have been fighting, and gives them a push to never give up or give in. I hope it helps inspire people to keep fighting. no matter how hard it is.
For people who deal with mental illness, depression, addiction or suicidal thoughts, every day can bring about new struggles. Every hour and every minute can seem to bring insurmountable odds of happiness. I hope that the simple message of “always keep fighting” can help to bolster somebody through a tough time. I also hope this campaign can help alleviate some of the stigma that the terms “mental illness” and “depression” sometimes evokes.
Everybody has either dealt with these issues themselves, or had a loved one who deal with them. It’s time for us to put these issues front and center and not be ashamed of the path we are walking. If you’re out there and need help, please seek it. Be proud of your valiant day-to-day struggle. There is no shame in needing support. I hope this campaign will help you be vocal about your own struggles, or vocal in your support of those who might need a helping hand. Most of all, when life seems to want to beat you down, I hope you Always Keep Fighting.
I was moved by Jared’s message and the wonderful video shows just how much he has put his heart into the cause.
Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very troublesome to inform the reality on the other hand I’ll surely come again again.
