As I promised, here is the full interview with Supernatural Executive Producer Robert Singer by Ileane Rudolph of TV Guide that will appear in the Comic-Con Edition of TV Guide to be released tomorrow. All credit for this interview belongs to TV Guide and Ileane Rudolph. If you really want to show them some…
I’m ready for this new incarnation of Dean. Pretty excited too.
Sounds like dean is going to react just like Sam did last season:D I’ve said it before, what they do with one brother they do with the other….talk about walking in ea. others shoes……wonder if dean is kettle and Sam is pot or vice versa:p. very excited for s 10
They probably are trying to have them walk in each other’s shoes. The thing is, Sam didn’t make Dean a demon. The Mark did and Dean did that to himself. Dean might be right to be mad at Sam for not killing him, but Cain said straight out that the only way to kill Abaddon, a Knight of Hell, and Cain himself was to use the First Blade. BUT the only ones who can use the First Blade are the ones with the Mark of Cain. So I don’t see how Sam COULD take Dean out. Crowley also said the MARK kept Dean alive. Now I suppose Sam could take the Mark onto himself, but that would involve either Cain or Dean giving it to him. So I’m having a hard time seeing how Dean can blame Sam for any he might do right now.
Also, in the end, not letting Sam die a natural death is last year is worlds away from Sam killing Dean himself. If Sam can bring Dean back to being human, then not killing him seems a good idea. If Sam can’t make Dean human as of now, I don’t see how he can kill him. It’s a puzzle.
Sam didn’t make Dean a demon. The Mark did and Dean did that to himself.
If the writers cared about established canon then this fact would have mattered. You see they need a reason to blame Sam.While Dean’s part will not be mentioned again or be simply told that he has a big heart and Sam’s will be repeatedly mentioned again and again.
You see the saddest part of this is Sam will turn into Dean and only Dean’s way will be seen as acceptable. It did not matter that Sam imploded and after some time found a girl it is still seen as sam found a girl and forgot about Dean.there was no attempt made by the show to show that Dean realized this.Sam turning into Dean I shudder at this.Sam …what makes Sam ,Sam will be destroyed in the process.
but carver did establish that in an interview. carver flat out said that dean did this to himself. the writers aren’t putting blame on anyone. carver had said last season was about choices. it seemed to me that in that regard the story focused around cas choosing to become an angel again, Crowley choosing to dose up on human blood, sam’s lack of choice and the consequences of that and dean’s choices, which as carver noted were bad ones. carver noted that this season is more about acceptance of who they all are. the boys literally experiencing what the other had gone through last season and season’s prior is the only way to get them to truly and I mean truly understand what the other has gone through when things got dire for one of them. when faced with the loss of the other, whether physically or as with demon dean, metaphorically or spiritually. once the boys finally see the other’s perspective, then I do think we’ll see an acceptance by them of who they are regarding both themselves and to ea. other. it’s part of building the relationship into a stronger more mature one. like Jensen said, you needed to crack a few eggs to experience the delicious omelet.
The boys can’t know what’s that far ahead because they just started filming. I gather they have read a few of the scripts though and based on that and whatever conversations the boys had with carver, things are headed in an exciting direction and one of resolution…at least as far as the boys’ issues are concerned and that is what is the most exciting of all. 😉
Sam always had that other Sam within him. Even Ruby told he he didn’t need the blood. He has been purified in season 8 but has the demon blood truly left him. He will turn heaven and hell upside down to find Dean. Who is the monster of the season?
percy,
I don’t think blame is the point. from what Jensen said, dean gets upset at the extremes sam goes to in order to save him. Sam got upset at the extremes dean had gone to in order to save him. so sam will come to understand what dean was experiencing and dean will come to understand why it was that sam got so upset. blame isn’t the issue in either case….the issue is the boys coming to understand the other’s perspective. sam and dean will finally comprehend where the other is coming from and that’s a good thing. I have faith that the result will be an acceptance of ea. other where there really wasn’t one before. i’m very excited for this…this is ten years in the making…
I think i’ll call sam kettle and dean pot…yeah….that sounds about right. :D;)
Agree :)……with the blame thing too.
I know and respect a lot of these journalists, especially Danielle, but honestly I think this interview pried a bit too much. Especially since they’ve only shot one episode and a lot of this is probably Jensen speculating based on reading scripts. I get it’s all about “getting scoops” and I thought Jensen handled it well, but I’d rather just see the episodes and decide for myself.
I agree with you Alice. The only one who really knows where the season is going is Jeremy Carver and his spoilers are always a little off kilter. I’ll watch and see for myself.
