The Supernatural Guest From Season One Casting Spoiler Is True!
Perhaps actress Taylor Cole forced everyone’s hand when she tweeted a picture of herself on the set with Jared and Jensen on Saturday, but it’s been confirmed by Warner Brothers and The CW that Cole is back to reprise the role of Sarah Blake, Sam’s brief love interest in the episode “Provenance.” Once the dust settled everywhere over that bombshell, her purpose was explained by Jeremy Carver to TV Line’s Vlada Geldman:
“The reappearance of old friends is somewhat related to the trials, and not in a very good way,†teases the EP.
So, you heard it here, 47th or something like that. So what purpose do you think Sarah is going to serve in this mystery arc? Who else do you want to see reappear?
The whole spoiler article from TV Line can be found here, but it doesn’t say much else! There will be more spoilers coming soon, as IGN, Zap2It and others also will be getting their turn with Mr. Carver. Don’t expect too much though. Jeremy Carver doesn’t give too much away!

So it sounds like it might not be her. Her. Which is sad because I really did like Sarah, but this brings on tons of speculation for what is going on with Sam, for me anyway
Because they show him in a hospital bed in ep21 and now he’s seeing people from the past. (Dreamlike state? Nappi suggested this). But why Sarah? If they were going to bring up people to feel guilty about, like they’ve done before, she wouldn’t be one I would think. She was getting kissed by Sam the last we saw her. Of course if something more happened that doesn’t speak to high for her survival odds 😀 .
And I wouldn’t think it could be a genie type thing or someone to tempt him away, because wouldn’t he see Amelia or better yet Jessica. Although neither of them knew about the supernatural so maybe in his IDEAL world would have someone who he could talk about his life with. But it would still seem odd. This is a puzzler.
“Not in a good very way” Hmm? How can people from your past relate to a trial? Punish you for past misdeeds would be a way, but Sam didn’t do anything to Sarah. But they have been tons of other people that could have been hurt during the apocalypse, but she does seem like a weird choice to use for that when there were people who got hurt on screen. I will have to ponder and hope other better ponderers get on here with ideas. Because this really has me intrigued.
Well…if Sarah is connected tot eh trial and her image is being used against Sam……They said there was a ton of earthquakes and stuff before Sam managed to trap Lucifer back int eh cage.
Maybe Sarah and/or her dad died in one of those rare earthquakes? Or what if Sarah tried to contact Sam due to a supernatural happening and Sarah who refused to run depiste4 her fears tried to do something when Sam never answered the phone and she died?
Or maybe Sarah was really Ameila and Sam ‘changed her name’ in the retelling to protect Sarah becasue he already knew what happend to Jessica as well as Lisa when the bad guys learned thheir indentities.
And Sam told Dean the false name because….well the false info was still used against Sam just in a way Sam didn’t expect.
I dont know….i’ll stand on your side and wait for better theorists. 🙂
I was hoping Sam would get to renew their friendship but it doesn’t appear that will happen. I suspect that “old friends” might be used as leverage to prevent the completion of the trails or to force Sam (and Dean?) to do something that Naomi or Crowley wants done. How many old friends are still alive anyway??
SPOILER
Okay, in the EW article, Carver said there will be at least one more from even earlier than Sarah. Provenance was towards the end of the season. So that means pretty much anyone S1 is possible except Bobby. Any thoughts?
Cassie? Kathleen the cop? Amy Acker character? But they all had more of a connection with Dean than Sam. The girl from Hookman or Charlie from Bloody Mary? Max is dead. As is Meg. The Ghost Facers but I don’t see them bringing them back for a serious episode.
Or people have been pointing out that there have been a lot of actors this year playing different roles. I just assumed it was because they’d been on a while and were reusing people who had small roles previously. (although it was weird that Ty played a vampire both times). But what if somehow Sam “cast” people in some sort of delusion using people from his past.
So Jerry from Phantom Traveler becomes Amelia’s Dad. Or if it is just reusing actors (they’ve done it in the past) than I think we can rule out him since he played someone else this season. Also Matt from Bugs since he played Samandriel.
Another good possibility would be Becky from Skin or Missouri (but Loretta Devine still looks pretty booked) or maybe the mom they helped in Home.
Oh man, I would love if Loretta Devine got to come back.
Anyone except Lori from Hookman. I never liked her.
Um, just to (timidly) put this out there-again-I mentioned in another article, a theory I had about the third trial being Sam having to face his past and things he’s done, etc.
(heh, maybe not even necessarily the bad things only). Sarah could fit into that, I guess.
I dunno I’ve got this running, “Sam Winchester. This is your life” running around in my head now.
*shrugs*
*scrambles away*
I’m stoked about seeing Sarah back. I really like this actress and last time I saw her was as a “bad guy” on “The Event”. I know she’s been on other things also, but I haven’t watched them. Now I hope she is coming back as the character of Sarah and not someone else! Hopefully TPTB are smart enough to know that her character is beloved by the fandom. Anyway, I’ll be looking forward to that episode. 🙂
I love Sarah, but I’m really scared she will be killed off or turned eeeeeevil! Please ‘no’ to either of them! 😕 😥
To bad Aldis Hodge (Jake fromt he psychic kids storyline) was in season 2. He would make an amazing charector to come back.
Honestly I see Season 2 as having more charectors that would impact Sam then Season 1.
Though S1 does have Azazel, Mary and John. I could see Mary and/or John being brought back to tell Sam he has been such a huge disappointment to them as parents and Hunters. That would fulfil the ‘not a good way” they came back.
