Titles for first seven episodes of Supernatural Season 10
The CW has announced titles for the first seven episodes of the season.
Black
Reichenbach
Soul Survivor
Paper Moon
Fan Fiction
Ask Jeeves
Girls, Girls, Girls
We have some intriguing titles.
Black we know features Demon!Dean so that may be a reference to his new demon-black eyes.
Reichenbach May refer back to Reichenbach Falls where Arthur Conan Doyle killed off Sherlock Holmes (like our boys, he came back, but he didn’t need a demon deal). .
Paper Moon was a movie about a con artist who was pretending to be a Bible salesman and his daughter. It is also an old song. It’s only a paper moon, hanging over a cardboard sea. But it wouldn’t be make believe if you believed in me
Soul Survivor This is the episode that Jensen directed. This should be the episode where Sam and Dean finally confront each other in the bunker.
Fan Fiction is the 200th episode that is musicalish
Ask Jeeves was an old search engine in early Internet days
Girls, Girls, Girls – no idea here I know we are getting a Sheriff Jody and Sheriff Donna episode, add Alex and we could have 3 girls. There’s no casting information with this so it could be something totally different.
So what do you think? Do you have any ideas about what these titles mean?
if I were to play the guessing game…;)
if all goes like I hope, then dean won’t be a demon for more than the first four eps. it’s not that I don’t think he’ll excel at playing a demon…i’m sure he’ll be awesome. it’s just that demons aren’t all that interesting….except for Crowley. they pretty much just kill or torment for the sake of doing the deed…it’s their fun…and really, how long can that keep one’s attention before we get tired of it? I assume the first three eps will also be a game of hide and seek between sam and dean, and that game can get old quick…
my guess is that sam figures a way to lure dean back to the bunker because by “soul survivor”….sam figures out a way to save dean…..my guess by the title is that dean’s soul is saved…..which is, fingers crossed, how I personally hope it plays out….
then by eppy 5 we get our special ep……and the boys being the boys again…or at least on the road to recovery…..my hope it that girls girls girls…actually includes the sam and dean talk we’ve all been anxiously awaiting…that supposed “chick flick” moment, that the boys don’t do:D you see this is one moment where I think it’s vital to the boys healing process in which they do what girls do best….that’s talk…..;)
i’d much rather spend s10 focused on the boys healing and working towards finding a way to rid dean of the moc….plus i’d love more on the mol.
just my opinion of course.. π
Hi nappi! I agree, I think Demon Dean will be cured of his demoness at least (not the MoC) by episode 4, and I too think that’s plenty of time for him to be a demon. I know that the fans will scream and carry on that the arc wasn’t’ given enough time or attention, that the story was slighted, but really, how long can we watch a completely amoral Dean doing reprehensible things and not caring? Since the bulk of the emotion has always been with Dean it makes me wonder where that emotion will be for the first 4/5 eps and how the show will fair without Dean’s emotions being front and center all of the time even for a short time.
I’d love to see Sam use the demon cure on Deanβ¦. will Sam have to “confess” again? or is his blood still purified from the first confession? Or was that only for the gates of hell thing? Anyway, they didn’t introduce that demon cure for nothing, so I am pretty sure it will come into play here.
I think Jensen let that piece of information slip at DallasCon. If you want to know watch the breakfast panel. π
Nappi815 – I agree – they’ve got to balance the Demon Dean storyline with the fact that fans don’t like the brothers separated for long periods of time. So 3 or 4 Demon Dean episodes sounds about right. I’m sure they’ll be dealing with the fallout of whatever Dean does as a demon, and whatever actions Sam takes to save him, for a good portion of the remainder of the season. Just a guess but I think Dean’s demon-ness gets cured but they’ll be dealing with the Mark of Cain and that fallout for quite a while.
I think Girls Girls Girls might be the Jody and Donna episode? Nickmanic might be right about the locked house ep, that was my first thought when I saw that name too.
Jensen said the special was like a double episode and if that is the case they would need either a bottle episode or a S&D light episode to compensate – looks like we might be getting both. Maybe.
Girls! Girls! Girls! was also an Elvis movie set in Hawaii. Stella Stevens was in it too.
saw a tweet earlier today (maybe yesterday) that Kim Rhodes was headed up to Vancouver so whatever episode they’re filming now is probably the Jody and Donna episode.
Actually, Jeeves was a butler in a series of old British books by PG Wodehouse. Let’s see … Jeeves = butler. “The butler did it.” In the iTunes Season 10 preview, Carver mentioned **SPOILER** there will be an upcoming episode set in a murder-mystery house. Therefore, I deduce, “Ask Jeeves” would be the aforementioned murder-mystery episode. π π
I’ll have to check my notes, but I thought that the episode with Sheriff Jody and Sheriff Donna was supposed to be the 4th one of the year. However, that intel was from Comic con and they may have switched the order around. It’s supposed to be a take on “The Heat.”
Soul Survivor is also (another) Blue Oyster Cult song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRjLv1L0WF8
The Asia song of the same name is a good fit too –
When I ran from the hounds of hell
Twist my foot, I nearly fell
I was lucky, I was alive
One look back I could have died
