Promo Clip AND Preview Clip: Supernatural Episode 8.18, “Freaks and Geeks’
Well here’s a bit of a bonus. Not only do we have the promo clip for next week’s episode, “Freeks and Geeks,” that aired after tonight’s episode, but we have a two minute preview clip for it already. Bonus! I’m still extremely skeptical about the episode, but I’m hopeful.

Never mind.
Oh dear. I’m not hopefull at all.
Sorry.
Heh, I’m actually very cautiously intrigued (if there’s such a thing). That dude who’s the leader of the school is clearly up to something no good, right?? Right???
Hum…. well, maybe this could work if the characterizations are really good and there is some awesome conflict underneath the motivation of the “father figure” dude that reflects back to how Sam and Dean were raised etc…. :-* Yeah…. I’m not holding out much hope either. This writing duo isn’t really up to giving us carefully thought out nuanced detail.
Well, I’d say that “Slice girls” were not that bad, and neither was another “slice”( of Kevin). Am I wrong?
Yeah I thought Slice of Kevin was great actually. And I really liked Slice Girls even though it did have some problems. I’m cautiously optimistic.
True, Slice Girls was decent, and A Little Slice of Kevin was actually good…I am holding out hope that Adam Glass can pull it together like he did for A Little Slice… !
Oh wait! A Little Slice of Kevin was Leming and Bruckner, not Adam Glass; oh well, kudos to them for doing a good job on at least one episode this season. And BTW, Adam Glass did do Southern Comfort (which I liked despite all the conflict 😳 ) and As Time Goes By, which I thought was pretty good; a little jamed packed maybe, but nicely written all in all ( the John backstory retcon notwithstanding). Then again he did write All Dogs Go To Heaven and Defending Your Life, two pretty big duds IMO. I guess we’ll have to see.
E, yeah I think it was reported somewhere that this was Buckner and Ross-Leming. I tried to find where and couldn’t so maybe I and some other people got our wires crossed. I actually really liked SC (even if I do think they need to follow-up with that) and though As Time Goes By was a great game changer, even if it had a few issues.
Defending Your Life is maybe the most frustrating episode of the entire series for me. There were scenes I liked (ie.Jo and Dean at the end) but it was just such a HUGE missed opportunity that it is incredibly frustrating to watch. We had a episode that could have brought up and address (even if it didn’t solve them) all the REAL guilt issues (like bringing Jo and Ellen to Carthage in the first place- they were grown women and it isn’t his fault but I could see him still having guilt over it) and instead got ones that weren’t even defended well, even though they easily could have been. UGH.
I’ll keep an open mind…and for the record, Dean and Sam look TIRED…
Very interesting idea, the Hunter school. Of course it can be no good, but the clip has me more excited than the Promo. After last night’s phenom episode, the promo seemed like another momentum killer. BUT, this clip looks interesting, it will have the return of Krissy (I think Adventures In Babysitting was a beautiful, highlight of S7), Adam Glass writing it, and directed by John Showalter.
I’ll reserve judgment until I see it. But, yeah, I agree with Nate, the preview has me more intrigued than the promo. And I did like Krissy, so we’ll see. Positively optimistic! 🙂
We already had one ‘loss of innocence’ episode this season (Bitten). Not looking forward to seeing mini-Dean Krissy again as presented by kid obsessing Adam Glass.
Anyone notice that the teacher is Dr. Hydecker (Shtriga) from Season 1, Something Wicked?
I sure don’t like the idea of kids becoming hunters so I hope Sam and Dean find a way to shut this down. I’m anxious to see where this story line goes next week.
Wow! Good pick – up, Trucklady, I thought he looked familiar! I can’t say the concept of the episode excites me, and I could take or leave Krissy, as Ginger said, “mini-Dean”, but maybe there will be an interesting or at least meaningful sub-plot. Maybe they’ll throw back to earlier seasons. Or maybe the teacher/hunter/headmaster guy is really a monster. I’m not really expecting more than a line or two thrown in to relate the whole thing to the rest of the season, but I can hope.
Ah Trucklady you beat me to it!!! I had just figured out where I saw this actor before… Ah, well. We can add him to the list of recurring actors that have shown up this season.
I have to say I am hoping for the best. And as always, I feel great anticipation for a new episode. Though I can see where it might make a wrong turn. I find the concept interesting and I am looking forward to the reactions/thoughts of Dean and Sam and their interchanges/conversationsregarding children and hunters school.
I don’t mind the concept that they are proposing in this ep and I liked Krissy well enough. I just hope that they relate it back to the Winchester’s and their past, because otherwise, why are they doing a filler so close to the end of the season and with such momentum gained in the last episode???? I hope that this episodes runs deeper than it appears from the promos that it does.
Dean is suspicious so Victor is BAD.
That is a given.
