Producer’s Preview: Supernatural 8.09 – “Citizen Fang”
Hey, I haven’t seen one of these in a while! I certainly haven’t seen one done by Jeremy Carver. Here is a special Producer’s Preview about Wednesday’s Supernatural midseason finale, “Citizen Fang.” He promises an episode with some emotional punch!

Did you know our sister site, TV For The Rest of Us. has a YouTube channel? All the Comic Con interviews I did this past summer are on that channel, plus previews for a variety of shows, including Supernatural. There’s a Supernatural playlist now that will continue to get bigger, so subscribe to TV For The Rest of Us on YouTube to see Supernatural preview videos and other extras all in one spot.

Thanks! I haven’t seen one for this season either. Jeremy Carver doesn’t seem that interesting. Maybe it’s just the presence of a camera that sucks the personality out. Haha!! I know that happens with me! I hope this episode is more interesting than how he makes it sound. But I’m doubtful.
I haven’t found Benny to be that interesting. Personally, I think he makes Edward Cullen look like Angelus in the intriguing department. Maybe this episode will make him more interesting, but so far he’s been too much of a source of melodrama and conflict for the characters to give me any interest. This episode will probably only amp that up with Sam having Martin keep tabs on him. Ugh.
I’m fully prepare for Sam to be wrong and the evil brother and Dean to be the right and good friend. In fact, I’m prepare for Dean to leave Sam for Benny in this episode. I wish I wasn’t and I wish that Sam and Dean weren’t in this place right now, but I don’t see how else there could be an emotional punch. It’s too obvious for Benny to be the bad guy and this season has been so far about making Sam into a crappy brother who doesn’t care about his brother, so what’s left? I enjoyed the last two episodes, but I have a feeling that is going to come crashing down with this episode and be on par with “Southern Comforts” and “We Need to Talk About Kevin” in destroying Sam and Dean’s brotherhood.
Here’s to being proving beyond and hopelessly wrong! Please let me be wrong in my doubts and fears!! (But I’m prepare for it and I know that I might have quit watching if I am right because I’m not sure how much more I can take in watching Sam and Dean’s brotherhood be destroyed for the sake of drama, angst, and bad writing.)
Katie, My thoughts exactly. Thanks for expressing it so well!
I’m afraid I’ll get shouted down, like the only other time I commented on this site… But PLEASE, let’s show our loyalty as a fandom and get past the whole Sam vs Dean conspiracies. Both brothers are the heart of the show. Neither one can exist without the other, and the writers know this as well as we do.

Could you tell the writers and JC that because they don’t seem to have gotten that memo.
They’re the ones who are propogating this with the way they are writing the brothers.

yep.. but remember probably the best season ever of SPN ( s4) had a lot of messing up with the bros relationship.. saddly when you have a brother or sister you have been with your entire life not everything is roses and rainbows. The show needs its fans just like we need the show

I actually really hated season 4 and 5. So that doesn’t make me feel any better. As far as I’m concerned, that season set the tone for the Sam and Dean fan wars and nothing since then has changed.
HW. Here here! and thank you. I agree with you. You won’t get a shout down from me! Please, keep commenting.
Hw, you are right. Don’t be afraid to comment because others disagree. There will always be those that also agree with you. The writers would not deliberately trash the brothers relationship, in my opinion. Others feel differently, thats fine. Most all the fans here are loyal, some are happier than others but it kind of keeps thing interesting.
I have a feeling they are blatantly wearing the relationship down between them because something will happen to bring them back together again. Something that might just connect them for good, besides the typical things any two siblings would quarrel about. I just feel that it’s too obvious for it to be going down that path. Maybe I’m naive and I’ll get proved wrong but I feel like they may part ways only to meet in the middle and because of that their relationship might grow even stronger. This season was said to be focusing more on their relationship, and we’re already almost halfway into the season so there are still quite a few plot points to address. Only time will tell and until then we just gotta hope for the best. C:
I dont think anything is going to happen, well nothing big anyway. I think they’ll just put their differences aside for the time being for some reason most likely due to the whole Cas/Kevin/heaven/tablet thing. I dont think the brothers are supposed to be anywhere near on terms untill episode 13 or something, I hear they have a talk-but my guess based on something Jensen said is that Dean basically says something along the lines of ‘one of us should be happy’ referring to Sam getting his normal life with Amelia but I doubt he actually knows the ins and outs of Sam’s life when he says it. It comes back to the perception thing again, Dean’s perception f Sam’s year and life and relationship being happy and normal when it really wasnt/isnt.
Has no one else read this interview w/ Jeremy Carver…

If you haven’t you really should. I got really excited after reading this one..sounds like lots of angst coming soon!! 🙂
Take care,
Jane
It sounds like they do go their seperate ways but in episode 10 or 11 they decide to work together for the sake of the ‘bigger picture’
I am so excited about this episode of Supernatural! I absolutely love this show, and hopefully this episode gives me more reason to talk to my coworkers at DISH about the show, but I’m not sure at this point. Either way, I’m recording every episode of the season with DISH’s Hopper so that I can re-watch them whenever I want, and I don’t have to worry about deleting any of my other shows to make room for it. I can’t wait for more of this incredible season and to see what happens with Benny, once they catch up to him.
