“Supernatural” 8.06 “Southern Comfort” – Preview clip
A-wah…. this one hurts to watch all around.
I really want this episode, I need to see what the fall out from last week is and the promo left me gagging for more!
This clip actually made a wee pain shoot through my chest…. I’m so glad we’re talking about Bobby. I also love it when Dean blows his stack and then realises what he’s done and softens.
.
arggggghhhh, I can’t wait!
This clip totally pissed me off.
Perfectly done. So wonderfully Dean. Made me feel weepy too. I like Garth but he would soon begin to pall as the kind of cartoon figure he was. I am glad the writing is developing who he is. I am hoping Adam Glass has finally got it right. Looks like it might be so. Oh and I think we might be seeing deeper into Sam and his year “off”(personally I think it will be sadder and darker than we are seeing right now) if that little flash on the promo means anything. However I think I am comfortable for that to be told at its own pace. I like a story to unfold almost enjoying my impatience. 🙂
Oh wow!another character having an interaction only with Dean with meaningful pauses, stares and anger.Still in the old rut of excluding Sam,I see.I have not cared about Dean from may be season 5 and they are still doing the same things which made me so.
Just because the promo is a 2 minute scene with Dean and another character does not mean that Sam has no meaningful interactions in the episode or that he has been excluded.
But at the same time they chose this scene. If they have a scene which gives me insight on Sam something like this i am going to be very very happy as this is what i have been eagerly waiting for.(As for what i am expecting i have already written in the let’s speculate so i will not repeat it here as this is not this right place)
I’m looking forward to this episode, to see Sam and Dean move forward somehow (with fists or words or both) from the tension of 8.05s last scene.
Not sure I like this Garth though. I liked Garth well enough in small doses before… but I’m really not keen on him trying to ‘be’ Bobby – or the guy Sam and Dean go to to talk about their issues…. Hopefully in the episode Garth will work better than in this clip – for me.
I’m genuinely not sure how I feel about this…hmm.
I’ve been a fan of Garth ever since “Party On, Garth”. That was the first episode where he showed himself to have some depth beyond the comedic facade. He was a breath of fresh air in a season bogged down by tragedy and nihilism.
But man…bringing up Bobby is a sore spot.
Definitely looking forward to the episode.
It pisses me off too. Not because Garth tried to fill a void left by Bobby (although – Seriously, Show? Garth? ‘How are you still alive?’ Garth helping other hunters?) but because he says “Bobby was all of ours” reminding us what we already knew — there are other hunters out there – HUNTERS THAT SAM COULD GO TO FOR HELP IN LOOKING FOR DEAN!!! AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!
Somebody remind me — did Sam actually say he had no place to start or has that only come from Jared & the production staff?
That’s the part that REALLY pisses me off. –
ya but you got to remeber, alot of hunters think of Sam as the guy who all most ended the world. Two did kill him
I’ve herard that theory put forward as a reason why Sam ‘couldn’t’ seek out other hunters, but I don’t buy it. Since Dark Side of the Moon, we haven’t heard a peep about that from any of the hunters they’ve met or from Rufus or Frank — and Sam spent a year hunting with the Campbels without any issue.
Regarding the quote “Bobby was all of ours” – it was my interpretation that Garth was referring to him, Sam, and Dean, not hunters in general.
It has not even been confirmed that Sam didn’t look for Dean in the show, much less the reasons for why he did or didn’t look. The Sam-had-no-leads has been coupled with the Sam-decided-not-to-look-because-when-they-manipulate-the-supernatural-bad-crap-happens-and-they’ve-learned-their-lesson as explanations given in the cons and interviews. Those could or could not be misleading. Personally, I think the explanations are perfectly plausible, but I won’t get into that here.
I liked this little clip. I’m not a big fan of Glass since I’ve always felt that he never has really understood the show and it’s main characters. It appears that that may be changing. I sure hope so!
BTW – Is it Wednesday night yet?? 😉
