What’s Your Supernatural Scene #3
I once again went to my trusty tupperware container and pulled out four more episode titles and put my thoughts on each. What are your thoughts on the following episodes? Is it a scene, a moment, a line or song? And why? It is your favourite or is it the emotional impact it has on you? Maybe it simply makes you laugh or hide under the covers.
“Provenance” – I have two moments I just love with this episode. Firstly the expression of both Sam and Dean when they first enter into their motel room with the disco motif. Secondly when Sam and Dean scale the museum’s fence. My chin hit the floor with that one. Purely a shameful fangirl moment for me.
“Yellow Fever” – I have two that stand out for me with this episode. First is the clicking of the Yorkie’s feet hitting the pavement as she chases after Dean. That sound had me giggling like an “Idjit’. The other is when they first arrive at the Old Mill and go to the trunk of the Impala to get the necessary equipment. Sam hands Dean the gun. Dean response with “Oh, I’m not carrying that. It could go off. I’ll man the flashlight.” Dean looked like a little boy all so proud. Meanwhile Sam gives the reply “You do that’, while trying to be supportive, he can barely hold back one of his famous bitchfaces.
“Death Takes A Holiday” – This episode had so many memorable moments. The loss of Pamela was so tragic and her warning to Sam. I loved ghost Dean putting his hand through a very uncomfortable ghost Sam. But the scene that stands out the most for me was watching Cole teaching the boys to touch, move things and fight as spirits. Dean’s face when Cole was able to disappear and re-appear was priceless.
“Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid” ““ With this one it was when Dean is outside at Bobby’s, standing guard by the Impala. Suddenly Karen appears and convinces Dean to go inside for a sandwich. I loved that whole conversation between the two:
Karen: I know you don’t trust me.
Dean: Why would you say that?
Karen: Come on Dean, that’s why you’re here isn’t it? Keeping an eye on me. I know who you are. Just like I know Bobby is not the same mild mannered scrap dealer I married. You hunt things. I’m a thing. I get it.
Dean: So you know Sam and I would never let anything happen to Bobby. He’s been like a father to us.
Karen: I understand and he’s lucky to have you looking out for him Dean. But you’re not the only one.
Karen tells him that she remembers what had happened to her when she was possessed. The guilt she sees in Bobby. How she couldn’t tell Bobby she remembered, “He’s my husband. My job is to bring him peace not pain.” It was such a touching scene.
PROVENANCE-WHEN SAMS TAKES THE EYELASH OFF SARAHS FACE AND SHE TELL HIM IT IS A WOMANS DECISION TO BE OR NOT WITH HIM.
YELLOW FEVER- THE BOOK IS MAKING UP STORIES AND WHEN SAM COMES BACK THE CLOCK IS BROKEN AND DEAN IS CHILLIN WITH A BEER.
DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY HURTS TO MUCH. I GUESS WHEN CASS SHOWS UP & TELLS DEAN EVERYTIME I ASK U TO DO SOMETHING YOU DO THE EXACT OPPOSITE !!
DEAD MEN DWP- SEEING JODY REALIZE WHAT IS GOING ON AND ACCEPTING IT LIKE A WOMAN AND A LAWMAN EVEN THOUGH SHE LOST HER HUSBAND AND SON.
ALL 3 OF THOSE HURT A LOT JUST TO THINK OF SOME GOOD POSIBILITIES.
Provenance – I think first of when Dean and Sam are in the gallery and Dean is stuffing his face with quiche and drinking the wine and smartassing Mr. Blake, with Sam giving him little bitchfaces and trying to smarm Blake. And second, of Dean telling Sam “Sam, marry that girl!” after Sarah says she is scared but still going with them. (Loved that girl!)
Yellow Fever – the moment that Sam tells Dean he is going to hell and about time and starts to strangle him and his eyea turn yellow. And again after Bobby leaves and Sam wants to know what Dean saw, and Sam’s eyes flash yellow and Dean tells him “howler monkeys, I saw howler monkeys”.
Death Takes a Holiday – Dean sticking his arm into Sam and the beginning when Dean tells Sam “I don’t want to hold you back”.
Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid – Dean finally getting some pie and Sam bitchfacing him. The zombie woman coughing disgusting goop all over Sam’s face. Yucky yuck!
More please, Karen.
“Provenance” is the short line Dean said… That’s my boy .. qwwww.. it was soooo big brother like, I couldn’t hold my giggles back
“Yellow Fever” jijiji…. it may be because of the gag reels but I remember… I don’t wanna be a clue… and then “Woodchips” LOL
“Death takes a holiday ” you have a great ass…. lol I love Pamela ^^
“Dead men don’t wear plaid” ugh!…. little boy eating his dad …. not nice and sad as hell.. but that’s the one I remember the most
Provenance–At the end when Dean asks Sam if he is ok and Sam who is thisclose to Sarah takes a beat and replies, “Not bad.”
Yellow Fever–Lots of good moments. One very small moment sticks out to me: Sam is looking for the ghost at the mill and hears it behind him. He turns and enormously tall Sammy has to look UP at the ghost. The “oh crap” expression on Sam’s face cracks me up.
Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid–Such a sad story. 🙁 The scene that stands out the most to me is Bobby at the end.
“She was the love of my life. How many times do I got to kill her?”
Death Takes a Holiday–Got to be Pamela commenting on Sam’s um assets and Dean demanding to know what she said.
Provenance-When the little girl comes into the living room dragging her doll on the floor, and it pans up to the skull-like shadow on her face. I agree with Sarah in that scene: That is just so wrong.
Yellow Fever-There are two here just because of the interactions between the boys. One at the old mill with Dean saying he was going to ‘man the flashlight’, and Sam trying to keep it together through the ridiculousness. And the other, is outside their motel with Dean showing Sam the first of the scratch marks on his arms, and Sam explaining the Ghost Sickness theories. I love their expressions through that dialogue.
Death Takes A Holiday-Here, it’s Alistair when he kills the first Reaper and is going after Tessa. I was just thinking, “No. He can’t do that! Can he do that?”
Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid-There are three quick moments here. Where Dean’s leaning against the Impala watching the house, and there’s that quick zoom up before the camera pans around. When he’s talking to Karen in the kitchen, happily eating pie. And when Karen knows she’s turning, and she’s telling Bobby what he needs to do. So very sad.
Provenance: Definitely when they walk into the motel room with the disco motif and the music, they look around and then they just go “Huh”. Priceless! Dean stuffing his face at the auction, you gotta love this guy.
Yellow Fever: The kitten in the locker had me in stitches. Actually pretty much the whole episode was a winner for me. I also love the part when Dean is almost out of time and little girl Lilith appears next to him and says to him that she misses him. Oh no, not again!
Death Takes a Holiday: This episode is one of my all time favourites. The change in Dean when he starts torturing Alastair. You know he is loathing himself for enjoying it. But on a good note, he enjoyed being a ghost and so did I.
Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid: The part when Bobby says to Sam & Dean : How many times do I have to kill her? That was so poignant. Bobby loves Karen so much, it was hard killing her once, but to have to do it again? So heartbreaking.
I must admit to a shallow fangirl moment in Dead Men Dont Wear Plaid, and say that my favourite part is when the camera pans up to Dean leaning on his car outside Bobbys house. My heart skips a beat.
