Support These Supernatural Related Charity Events
Every once in a while, I get the honor to talk about some upcoming charity initiatives that are done in the name of Supernatural. After all, this is one very active, very generous fandom! This time, two have been brought to my attention that must be shared.
The first event is time sensitive. An IBG Conversation Series event, ”A Conversation with Mitch Pileggi,” takes place this upcoming Sunday, May 22nd at the Roxbury Auditorium in Beverly Hills. Below is the press release with all the details. There are still tickets available!
For Immediate Release: Have ‘Supernatural’ questions for Samuel Campbell? Get ’em answered at “A Conversation With Mitch Pileggi!”
IBG Inc has announced Mitch Pileggi as the featured guest for their Spring 2011 Conversation Series event.
Perhaps best known for his work on ‘The X-Files’, Mitch Pileggi has most recently appeared as Samuel Campbell on The CW’s ‘Supernatural.’ The maternal grandfather of demon-hunting duo Sam and Dean Winchester, he was introduced in the fourth season episode “In The Beginning” but then brought back (and back to life) in the current (sixth) season. Once a devoted father and hunter who wanted nothing more than to protect his family, fans certainly got a shock when they learned how– and why– he was brought back. And what he was really doing once he got there. His second death was just as abrupt as his first, leaving many to wonder if there is more to the story than meets the eye. If you have questions you want answered, IBG Inc will give you a chance.
“A Conversation With Mitch Pileggi” is part of IBG Inc’s Conversation Series of events, which are part-moderated, part-open floor discussion afternoons. A limited number of tickets are sold to keep the vibe intimate and informal.
There are still a few tickets available on IBG Inc’s website (www.ibginc.org/conversationseries) priced at $35 for general admission and $10 for students with valid school I.D. Proceeds from the event will go to a charity of Mr. Pileggi’s choosing TBA. The event will take place in Beverly Hills on May 22nd, just after the ‘Supernatural’ season finale airs.
Thanks to Danielle Turchiano for the info. I was also told that IBG films all of their events and they sell a DVD afterwards, with all proceeds going to the selected charity as well. For more information, go to www.ibginc.org/conversationseries.
The second drive comes from Seraphina. She is developing a documentary in which they go to every state capitol in the country and spread joy by doing random acts of kindness. They are raising funds for the project. For more information about this, go to www.kickstarter.com/projects/825119628/the-road-to-kindness. Good luck to Seraphina and please keep us informed with any updates!
Do you know about any other charity fundraisers/events going on in the Supernatural fandom right now? Please share in the comments or the “Contact Us” page. I’d love to spread the word.
